| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 1/11/2006 8:21:16 AM | A friend of mine took me to this really awesome place in Langley for coffee. I don't remember the name but it is the coolest coffee place - right beside Mcbernie Alley.
On Wed. nights they have local talent come and do their thing all their own material. People come with kids and dogs and you name it and in the summer they put tables out in the alley which is all paved and the trees are all lite with tiny white lights just a really awesome atmosphere!!!
Going tonight actually!!! If you go come and say Hi!

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 1/30/2006 11:43:00 AM | I would recommend Fiddlehead Joe's as a nice place for lunch or dinner below the Burrard Bridge across from C's in Vancouver.
Nice waterfront outside seating with heaters making it easy to sit and enjoy being outside year around. Prices were $$$ but the quality was good and my company was even better

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 2/21/2006 11:33:53 AM | Elixar at the Opus Hotel, requires reservations, and the food & service is very good.
Cardero's near the westin bayshore, great food, music and go early, since it can get very busy.
Cloud 9 on Robson, make reservations for dinner, or you can sit in the lounge, order a drink and dessert, and watch the city revolve past you ...beautiful anytime of year.
Boathouse at Horseshoe Bay, its along the water, can watch the ferrys and food is excellent.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 2/28/2006 9:55:03 PM | Take 5 Cafe on Pender and Nicola has amazing lattes, food and frappes. It's a great place to grab something before or after a walk along the seawall. They have a few locations.
La Piazza is a great restaurant on Grandview Highway. If you like unbelievable Italian food, that is the best traditional Italian with atmosphere in the city. It's romantic and reasonably priced.
Views and food: Seasons in the Park at Queen Elizabeth - excellent food but higher end. Awesome view. The Cannery on the waterfront off Victoria drive (or close to that) - Amazing seafood and view if you get a window seat. Getting there is tricky because of the port authority if you don't know the route so make sure you get instructions and then it's simple.
Caffe de Medici on Robson - pricy but 'the' place for special occasions. Service and food second to none.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 3/20/2006 6:45:08 AM | I agree with you about Grouse. I have to admit forgot about it
The reason I like Monk's is the music. Pianist during the week and a female Jazz Vocalist on weekends that will come over and serenade your date for a few extra $$. Makes for a very intimate experience.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 4/5/2006 5:17:28 PM | Personally I really like a view, and with the scenery we have around here why not take advantage of it! Two places with a great view: 1. Horizons on Burnaby mountain 2. The restaurant at the top of the Harbour tower downtown
Both kind of pricey, but definately worth it for a special occasion.
If you're not into the fine dining thing, a picnic on a clear day at the top of Burnaby Mountain is also pretty cool. There's a rose garden and views of Indian Arm, downtown and Mt. Baker.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 4/20/2006 11:57:16 PM | Add to that a not that well known but authentic Japanese Restaurant down in Steveston called Yokohama's - really quaint, excellent food and authentic Kimono's too.
For that something a little more special the Charthouse on the Steveston waterfront is outstanding on a summer evening.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 4/29/2006 10:46:46 PM | Table 89 at the Stone Grill underneath the Granville Bridge on the downtown side. The food at the Stone is awesome although it's an expensive place to dine, it's worth it.
Nothing better than a packed picnic and a drive up Cypress Mountain to the second lookout. A nice bench to snuggle up on and the whole of English Bay before you.
Whytecliffe Park and another picnic. Go left from the little lookout place and you'll find a way down to a perch on the rocks where you are looking across at Bowen Island. Nice lil hide-away.
Sunset Marina on the way up to Squamish.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 5/1/2006 3:01:12 PM | After the first and second date and if you don't mind the drive (you could always stay over night at one of the hotels) try the Black Forest restaurant out at Harrison (Harrison Hot Springs) it can be $$ (licensed) that's why I suggested after the first couple of dates. You can either sit indoors, dinner by candlelight or outside and look at the lake, (it is across the road from the lake) a nice stroll after dinner around the lake too. Phone 1-604-796-9343 to reserve your table.
It's my favourite restaurant in BC

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 5/5/2006 11:46:38 AM | Hey there, If you are in the Okanagan you have way to many choices. Most times the "first" meet will be in an open place with lots of room. It really should not matter where, it should be agreed upon by both. Good luck to all, CW | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 1/24/2007 8:00:49 AM | | A few of my top pics: The Rugby Club on W. Broadway at Oak (relaxed, westcoast cuisine), Red Door on South Granville @ 16th Ave (pan-asian fusion), Maurya on W. Broadway (elegant e. indian), The Cannery at the Port of Vancouver (pricy, seafood...order the Salmon Wellington), Sweet Revenge on Main @ 26th Ave (cozy, romantic dessert place...go for the croissant or creme brulee). | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 3/9/2007 11:11:07 AM | | I always enjoy live music and dancing to go along with a dinner date, so for me my choices are either Baci's on Hastings, Federico's on Comercial, or to go all out take them out to Harrison Hot Springs, spend part of the afternoon wandering about then enjoy dinner and dancing at the Copperroom in the Harrison Hotel. Reservations are recommended for all three. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 3/9/2007 11:21:25 AM | O'douls on Robson has live jazz usually after 9pm and its great spot to have dinner and listen to music. Reservation required.
If you want dessert, cheesecake etc on Granville street opens after 7pm to 1am. A hole in the wall, small cafe with music I think on weekends, and the cheesecakes are fantastic. Go early since this place is small.
If you want to go for coffee, or Hot Chocolate, my personal favourite is Delany's. The best coffee in the city, locations on Denman, 2 locations in West Van and 1 in North Vancouver. You can tell when I get the opportunity to have their location, I know where to go.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 6/18/2007 8:07:46 PM | i wouldn't suggest this for a first date...but if you have $$$ to spend on a special occasion and you want to romance your date, try Sanafir on Granville St downtown. i went there recently with a friend for his birthday and was thoroughly impressed. entrees are served tapas style (a trio in a theme), and desserts are served in the same fashion (i recommend having the sweets with van gogh chilled espresso vodka instead of coffee). this is a place to impress your date.
