| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 9/18/2007 6:38:26 PM | Recently went to Dublins Crossing, an Irish pub out in Langley. The inside is very nice, not what you would expect from the outside, (it's in a newly built strip mall). There are 2 floors, (the 2nd floor was closed while we were there, I guess they open it for the evening), lots of woodwork. It feels like an old pub. The food was very good, menu has lots to choose from. Would be a nice place to go for a casual dinner.

I haven't done it in years, but it's cheap, requires little-no skill, is fun - depending on the company ;-), and beats the hell out of the coffee-shop "interview", in my books! google Cypress Snowtubing for details.

Marvelous food, great winelist, excellent staff. For you oldtimers, its in the old Delilahs location in the bottom of an apartment building near Stanley Park. In White Rock, Pearl on the Rock - modern, elegant and sophisticated with a great wine list and excellent interesting food. For good wholesome fresh Italian food like mama made in the most marvelous kitsch decor, Osteria Napoli on Renfrew. The singer has the most wonderfully bizarre choice in music - some romantic old Italian songs mixed in with, well, everything else! For a first kiss date, The Hart House on Burnaby Lake. Sit outside in the summer and then walk down to the lake for the kiss after dinner.....

This little known restaurant located in Aldergrove is the best food anywhere in the Lower Mainland, comparable to anything Vancouver may offer, for a way better price. The service is friendly, with very outgoing staff. You'll be greeted by one of their waitresses, or the owners, but where else do you get the chef coming out to greet you and offer you his daily appetizer creation to try? .....for free too!
I started going to Char's about two months ago and enjoy their company at least once a week. It's decorated like a nice pub; not real fancy, but the food is incredible! It's served in the most appealing manner and the taste is unbelievable. The salad's are great, oyster Rockefeller is to die for and their schnitzel is perfect. Hand-picked veggies daily, along with fresh fish, meat; all from the local markets and in-season!
Sunday brunch is as many different kinds of eggs Benny that you can think of!
I've taken several people there and have recommended it to many and would highly recommend it to you. I'm a single lady, often dining alone and have always been welcomed like one of the family!
Try it; I know you'll love it!
