| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 8/5/2006 10:04:12 PM | Some of my top picks:
Dallas: Mr Sushi off Belt Line in Addison (I know... sushi in dallas... but it's the best around and great date atmosphere) Thai Garden off Campbell & Preston (very quite and dim environment, plus good Thai) Farpoint Celler / Bistro off 121 & Legacy: Great daytime date for good wine and a good place to talk
San Marcos: Grins right on the river. Good burgers and a fun patio 'cause the tobers go by
San Antonio: La Fiesta Patio in Universal City... you HAVE to get a puffy guacamole taco, trust me ;) Plus best salsa in the state IMO.
And of course: Freebirds, located in several places all over the state (puts Chipotle to shame)

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 8/14/2006 4:06:37 PM | Hey Mystryred, do singles go to Memphis? I am pretty independent and go out by myself, so that would be no problem... but is it boring w/o someone? Also how about Manhattan's Addison? I just moved to Preston @ Beltline... need help finding the best places to go out alone. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 8/14/2006 7:57:49 PM | Ashley, I think theres several singles that go to memphis. To be honest I dont go out by myself much, so have always gone with someone else. Im sure you would have a good time there. Kenny's is also a good place to go if you just want to have a drink. The bartenders are great guys and really try to watch out for you.. just be careful.. they pour heavy!! I think Sambucca's is another place. And I do know that tends to be a singles place also. My brother introduced me to that place several years ago! Cape Buffalo is another well known place and I know there are several singles there too!....hmmmmm.. dang and I really dont do bars that much but you wouldnt know that by this post huh????? hehehehe. If you want some more ideas just contact me via email. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 8/25/2006 9:27:13 PM | I don't know many places around here to take somebody but the two places that I would recomend are fairly small.
First one is a sushi place. Very small, but great food and service. Simon's Sushi (Plano I think) I have only been here once but I would go back and would highly recomend the place.
The other place is one that I have eaten at lots. Its very different and feels like home cooking. It is also very small but has great desserts. Its quiet enough that you can talk to somebody without having to yell across the table. Marlo's House in Garland. I would recomend this place for anybody that wants to get out of the ordinary places and create a lasting impression on your date. As I'm sure this is the place that he or she has never been to on a date before.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 9/18/2006 7:43:36 PM | | The Pocket Sandwich Theatre on Mockingbird near downtown Dallas is awesome. The food is pretty plain, but the comedy theatre is a scream. You can even through popcorn at the cast. Your sides will ache or it was a bad night. Price is cheap too, for those dating on a budget. :) | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 9/30/2006 3:34:16 PM | Fogo de Chaos
Now that a place to impress. The dinners are $50 a head and it's like a buffett type deal. It's all kinds of meat cooked slowly. The servers tend to you & your date on hand & foot. This place is at Addison near the toll way.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 12/11/2006 10:16:38 PM | In Longview there are very few places that are not "chain" restaurants and even fewer that could be classified as good places to take a date, especially the first.
The Bistro on Tyler Street in downtown Longview is nice.
Barron's Cafe in the shopping center at the corner of Loop 281 and McCann Street (near Albertson's) is good for a lunch date.
For a casual pizza, try Pizza King (est. 1962) on East Marshall (Hwy. 80) in Longview. Great casual atmosphere with wonderful pizza and lots of old nostalgic toys, etc. on display.
Sadly, most (almost all!) music clubs in Longview are old, cruddy-looking joints with crappy furniture, horrible floors and fixtures and little atmosphere. The anti-smoking ordnance is a joke, and if you like smoke so thick you can cut it with a knife, you'll love this city! There are some terrific bands here, and the music is great at times, but the venues are so piss-poor that I know very few people that actually go out because of the sorry facilities. The one nicely decorated club has gone belly-up and is now a Japanese steakhouse.
Would someone out there PLEASE come to Longview and open a nice non-smoking club that appeals to those of us 40- and 50-somethings? I guarantee it will be a success! The only nice club here opened as a sports bar/restaurant/dance club but catered to the hip-hop crowd and went under fairly quickly. There's no place in town for us older folks.....

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 1/21/2007 12:05:05 PM | In Austin, Baby A's is a good first date spot 'cause the bar area's always lively and fun (even on Monday nights!) and if you get past the first drink and think you want to have dinner together, the food and service is good as well.
I'd love more hints for Addison, I have a business on Belt Line Road that I must visit once, maybe twice a month and never know where to go. I'm usually on my own but I'd like to meet some people in the area so someplace that's amenable to that would be great (but not a "meat market"). *jotting down Kenny's and Memphis for my next trip*

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 1/23/2007 2:15:27 PM | If you are in Fort Worth you cant go wrong with the patio at Joe T's on a warm night. If you are in Dallas and like wine there is a great wine bar on McKinney called Vino 100. Alot of great wine for under $25.00 a bottle. They have a great patio and if you dont finish your bottle they cork it up and let you take it with you. For romance you cant get any better than the bar at the Mansion on Turtle Creek. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 3/13/2007 3:05:06 PM | Hi!! Here are some of my favorites: Brio's out towards Woodlands mall it is nice food is good and if you want things to linger on a bit you can take a boat ride and get a tour of the area for next to nothing then you can have ice cream, go to a movie, never having to repark your car or travel anywhere else. For Mexican that is good and cheap: Los Cucos off the Westheimer and galleria area. For A nice meal try " The Cheesecake Factory" They have more than lucious desserts!! La Madeline you can't go wrong with, same for Land and Cattle. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 3/17/2007 3:59:06 PM | You are so very right about a man that can and will cook dinner for a lady.... However, I think most of us would not like it for our first date....we all like to play it safe the first couple of dates before we venture to our date's home.
