I happen to agree with you imagine the Connection, I use to live in Alvin, Texas and still Remember Joe's BBQ they have some of the best BBQ you could ever find.
Liked the Atmosphere as well, and think it would be a great place to meet someone for a first time date. But I am sure you would want to go back again .
Does anyone recommend any good places to go and eat and where you could go and have a good time in Beaumont.
Would love some of your suggestions.

Randy White's BBQ in Frisco Preston/Main is a great place to eat and Coach Joe is building a place right next to him right now.

I love Texas Roadhouse! I've taken all my dates there.

If you like casual and ballgames, Wing House is good. For Mexican I like Posado's or Miguelito's (both Bedford locations). BBQ is Railhead on Montgomery and 30 in Fort worth -- they also have a GREAT bar that isnt pricey or run down.

Austin has many great places for a first date... even more so when you want some live music to accompany your meal. Especially noteworthy – at least for carnivores – is the Mesa Ranch, just north of Spicewood Springs Rd/Mesa Dr intersection. I’m also partial to Chuy’s for delicious TexMex, Pluckers for scrumptious comfort food, and the Cheesecake Factory when calories simply don’t matter. Drive a bit to the northwest, and you can’t beat a sunset dinner with live music on Lake Travis at either The Oasis or the Iguana Grill.

Im just discovering Firewater Grill in Dallas. Dunno bout the food but theres almost always someone good playing there. Usually, some rock based band or tribute bands like Destroyer, Queen for a Day, XSWhiskey. Good luck!

I'm always there when Queen for a day performs and I'll probably be there on July 20th for Allman Brothers tribute show..

If you are in the Houston area, you might want to try the Kemah waterfront area. There are several good restaurants, and I enjoy sitting outside on the deck and watching the sailboats come and go, strolling down the boardwalk and talking, the live entertainment in the courtyard area, the quaint shops, etc. It is a fun place to spend a weekend afternoon getting to know someone.

I have to agree the Kemah Boardwalk is great. Joe's Crabshack has an AWESOME drink - margarita/daiquiri swirl thingy (I know I am all technical). If you decide to sit outside on the deck, just watch out for the seagulls overhead!

Also, in the area is Johnny Tamales. GREAT Mexican food! Lots of food for a decent price, free dessert, and the atmosphere is cozy.

Can't believe you Houston people never mentioned Dozier's, in Fulshear.. It may as well be on the historical list.
Some of the best bbq around, plus whatever meats you want to take home with you.. cooked or uncooked.

How about we get away from the deep south for awhile lol If you ever meet someone who lives in the Panhandle area (Fritch, Amarillo, Canyon, Perryton, lubbock..etc) Fizzoli's (?) is a great place, try to steer away from McDonalds lol and there's "The Plaza" or The Big Texan..and I have a question for the ladies "Why do chicks order Salads while guys order hearty meals?"

Went out this weekend and ate three enchiladas, which was more than he did. If I go out to eat I, well, eat...

...if I'm that worried about what I'm eating or not eating due to a diet or any other nonsense, I'd rather go do something else. Shoot pool, go bowling, go to a park and kick around a ball or other random silliness.

I am so tired of people thinking the movies are a great place to take a first date or even a second. If we're still feeling each other out (and get your mind out of the gutter people) there is no reason to sit next to each other, in silence, for a couple of hours.

A hint of originality goes a long way to impress me. ( ie: I'd rather go to some little hole in the wall than some chain restaurant.) Make me believe you actually thought about it.

My best experiences in food have been at the Pappadeaux's chain. 99% of the time you have an amazing waiter/waitress and the food is amazing. My recommendations are: Blackened oyster and shrimp fondue, Fried Alligator, A bowl of the craw fish bisque, The chopped salad with craw fish (add ranch dressing to it, it's amazing).... to name only a few.

Speaking of the pappa's chain... pappasito's is an amazing mexican food restaurant. Just about anything there is wonderful... make sure you end the evening with the Tres Leches dessert.... their signature.

Jack In The Box at Tejas and HWY 105 in Montomery Texas. They serve a ddelicious sandwich called a Jumbo Jack which with a little charm can be enhanced with a slice of processed cheese. They also curl their french fries.... very romantic.

Smith and Wollensky's
Tila's
Cafe Red Onion
Barnaby's
Outback Steakhouse
Niko Niko's
Pappas Seafood
Ragin Cajun
Ninfa's
Mark's
Benjy's

there's also a really awesome Morrocan place I can't think of right now...

Guero's (esp when the mariachi's are there!)

New Braunfels

Rudy's
New Braunfels Smokehouse
Johnny Carino's

Also just outside El Campo there's a little smoke house called Prazek's that is AMAZING for jerky, sandwiches and baked goods! And in Galveston Guido's is the best! Though you can't go wrong with any seafood place down there.... Same goes for Corpus and Port A.... Though I am partial to the Quarterdeck in Port A....

After all this talk of food I'm hungry now...

I've dragged a few girls to Dave and Buster's. It's like Chuck E. Cheese for adults. It's always a lot of fun.
