| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/9/2005 8:03:34 AM | hey stewie... if you think shes bitter you have your head up yer a***. She was merely stating that if you didnt act like such a dillhole you might actually get a date!
Nude photos hey? how often does that ever work for you man? Me thinks the only bitter person here is you, becuase you havent got anything that a woman of $ally's caliber would even be the slightest bit interested in.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/9/2005 9:50:59 AM | Thanks Tricky.
But I shouldn't have been sticking my nose around a public forum. Public forums aren't for people to publicly state whatever they publicly want. I profusely apologize.
I hope you got a good wank outta thinking about me Stewie.
You don't have to worry about me wanting anything (even attention) from you.
OT: Are there any good African restaurants in Calgary?

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/9/2005 2:25:00 PM | well...geez. you're both sooooo right. how DARE i defend myself from an unsolicited attack on my character. here i was thinking i was being cool about it by making a few lighthearted remarks, when i should have been getting down on my hands and knees and apologizing to $ally for my very existence. oh Great Goddess $ALLY...please forgive this ignorant, vulgar schlub for having a set of testicles. if i kiss your precious feet while whimpering like a scared puppy will you pleeeeeeeeeez forgive me? pleeeeeeeez? what if i buy you something pretty? could you forgive me then? pleeeeez? . get real.
also....while this may be a public forum, it does have certain rules. it is not meant for bashing others, which is why you might have noticed my public apology to the admin for my drifting. that is why i would appreciate it, if you two have any further bashing you have to get off of your chest, that you respect the forum rules and email it to me. I promise i wont delete it now matter how insulting it gets. I don't know where you're from, but where I'm from etiquette and protocol are not optional. just because your parents didnt raise you to respect others and follow rules is no reason i should have to suffer for your ignorance. (i totally stole that last line from a movie).
PS tricky bassit.....you have to be the most successful sex change i've ever seen. tell your doc he does GREAT work. (jk). seriously dude...you're the coolest. you rock. oh...and my behavior was also vaguely pr*ck-like on top of being vulgar and ignorant.
PPS...once agin my apologies to the admin for making this a bash session. i promise it will be the last.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/9/2005 5:46:51 PM | Besides the comedy cave does anyone know of any "dinner and a...." things in Calgary or Edmonton? All I can think of is dinner theatre, but I'm just wondering if there are some more creative things out there!
Also, has anyone ever gone to or brought a date to a wine-tasting gala or event? I think that would be fun!

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/10/2005 10:50:28 AM | @ $ally
Jubilation Dinner Theatre in Calgary.....food is nothing to write home about but the shows are lots of fun...good talent for what it is. I always seem to whined up on stage for some reason. I think it is about $35 a head...call for reservations and expect to be there for a few hours. If you are really thinking ahead and want to stay for drinks afterwards...there is a great piano lounge right next door...it is usually full but get them to hold you a seat before you head into Jubilations.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/10/2005 7:32:46 PM | Been to many a Jubes show (ex-gf worked there--knew everyone). Mostly a group of really fun and talented people. Just remember to have lots of fun with your server. Especially if he's a really tall guy named Chris, or a slightly less than average height guy named Brad. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/10/2005 10:27:28 PM | For me when I first meet someone I feel like your kinda flying blind.. some times it's better to just make plans for one thing because if they annoy the hell out of you, and they got no clue that they are doing it, its best to stick to one thing and get out of there But on the flip side, if its going great, and its early, the possibilities are endless. At least you've both spent some time together getting comfortable with one another and can go from there. Dinner or a lil snack are great, cause you can sit and chat rather comfortably for the most part. Some where with decent music is always a bonus cause even if the company is great, if the music sucks its a bit of a distraction. Or at least for me anyhow, big on music. But a pub or bar.. ahh maybe not so much the first time. Its always good if you can hear the person... even if they are annoying lol Plus .. if the music is good.. it can set the mood for later However... this might sound bad, maybe I've just met too many people from the net now and had some umm interresting times. Save the romatic spots for someone you actually WANT to get romantic with.. so if its a blind date or the first time your meeting.. go casual. People on the phone or on paper tend to be much umm.. different in person some times Casual but good food decent music good prices and even better servers I'd say ABC Country Restaurant off of Anderson/ Deerfoot in Calgary. Moxies is always decent too for a first time casual affair. That.. and I'm new to town still getting to know some of the spots! Ok think I'll shut up now should be enough to read for a bit Good luck people! | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/28/2005 10:12:22 AM | Dating ideas:
-Movies suck, who cares about movies? you can't even talk and the entire time is filled with awkward silence.
-Go to the zoo, go racing at a go-kart track, go for a meal and a walk through prince's island park with a camera, go tubing down the river
-Do something that displays a higher valure than your average chump, be creative, show off one of your sports or hobbies or something (ie. go wallclimbing).
-It also depends on the girl - if you picked her up at a club / bar then don't take her to a club / bar. She's probably tired of that scene. If she is a bartender or a waitress then you kick it up a notch... do something original.
It mostly depends on the personalitty of the girl, if she's outgoing, do something outdoors and adventurous - something new to both of you. If she likes to stay at home, invite her over to snuggle, cook for her, watch movies, etc. I know there's a big taboo about going over to someone's house, but who cares? Just have fun, don't expect sex or anything, just watch some movies, eat some food, etc.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 12/2/2005 3:38:18 PM | | I've been reading through this forum to get some tips on great places to eat and haven't really gotten any in my vicinity that I agree with. But , on the other hand all I got out of this forum is the realization that you are a very bizarre creature and I was wondering if you actually get any dates?? I'm thinking you are gay!!!! Am I right or am I right???? | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 1/25/2006 9:03:10 PM | | I had good luck at Cosmos Greek taverna on 124th street Edmonton. Last time I went there they had a belly dancer and she got the whole restaurants up and dancing. It helped that the waitresses were giving shots of Ozo directly into peoples mouths. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 1/26/2006 2:47:19 PM | Manor Cafe (just off 124 St and 102 Ave in the High Street district of E-town): lovely patio, excellent food, decent wine selection, and chocolate dessert by Callebeaut.
New Asian Village (Sask Drive, Edmonton): very good Indian cuisine, nice atmosphere, and a breathtaking view of the river valley and skyline.

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 2/1/2006 5:55:23 PM | $ally - I have had Ethiopian food! Only vegetarian dishes since, well, I'm vegetarian, but they are GOOD. (Actually I had one of the meat stew ones too, during a brief hiatus of vegetarianism, and it sucked. Go vegetarian options all the way.)
Go to Blue Nile in Kensington. Try the vegetarian Mixed Vegetables (or something like that) - it's to die for. My ex, who wasn't nearly veg, LOVED it. There's also something like Vegetarian Assorted, which has I think 4 different dishes. You can get one order of each to feed 2-3 people.
That's in Calgary, I hope that's where you're asking about. I have no idea otherwise.
But it's GOOD and addictive, I want it ALL THE TIME lol
