There is a place in Fredericton called Brewbaker's.
Its a funny little place with good food.

When I say funny, you'll know what I mean once you get there. Its an upscale restaurant trying to look like a lower-quality restaurant trying to look like an upscale restaurant. Its quaint and the food is great.

Dimitri's in Fredericton can be a cozy place for a first date. The food is great.

Excellent suggestions. As a personal preference, I would avoid "chain restaurants" like East Side Mario's or Mike's. Don't settle for mediocrity.

I like to use the napkins as a guide...if they are cloth, it's a cool place to bring a date. Paper, it's a cool place to bring your wife and three kids!

In Saint John, it's quite limited. In Moncton, Pastalli is awsome.

Panama (soon to open again) or Sasha's for martinis, tapas and a more chic atmosphere. Panama has great lounge music with talented local DJs on weekends.

Where will it open????? I know that the old panama place will be called Rouge and it's supposed to be a restaurant/pub/club. I don't think it will have the Panama feel at all...

Well I have to comment on a few places I haven't heard stated as yet..

Fredericton/Nas'is - Beristo's restaurant on main street
- And one place I don't remember the name is off woodstock road across from the Dimplomat (it doesn't look like much and is probably better suited for 3rd or 4th date but if you haven't been in there try it out..

Moncton/Riverview - Homestead restaurant on coverdale Rd around the 350 block.

Would appreciate any suggestions for similiar in the St John area also for nice surf & turf or an Italian type restaurant besides Grannan's Thanks..

Sebastian's is a great new place in SJ. 50 varieties of martini and you can have small meals and the like, as well.

It's a little pricey but if you are meeting for conversation, it's great for specialty coffees too.

Vito's is one of my favorites. graffiti is another good restaurant. I recently went to the red pepper close to the farmers market on main and it was pretty good you get to prepare your plate so that's fun for poeple who like that sort of thing. St Hubert is another good one.

I did not see an answer about the dinner theater... McSeeney's has a great dinner theatre in Moncton, about $35-$40 per person (plus booze)

That dinner theatre is quite nice for the price..they give you a choice of food items..plus they tend to involve you in the play(which can be ackward )

In Saint John...Vitos uptown is great. Nice atmosphere and when your finished there is nothing better than strolling along the streets. Many houses are older with lots of character, down by the water is nice or sitting in the square people watching is interesting.

Fredericton...Isaac's way or Dimitris have the best patios with the food to match. Walk down to the aquatic center and rent a canoe. Be adventerous and go to kingswood for a game of laser tag...superfun!! Like to walk?...try the trail, it runs along the river..oohh ahhh.

For us that are shy...there is no better first date than a movie...why? you ask. You have the opportunity to get comfortable with someone's presence without the pressure of conversation. There are theatres everywhere.

A Taste of Tokyo-on Waterloo St, if they are open on weekends--D'Amico no longer exists, it is now Thandi's..great east Indian & Canadian cuisine..

Because I like to hike, if the guy likes the same..a good hike at Taylor Island or at the beach entrance-same place--Since I'm not into coffee..a supper at a local spot..but a tea could do also..

Hi new to the city of SJ ( for the second time!, long story lol!) Thanks for the restaurant suggestions. Would like to have other options than the dinner thing though! What is there to do in this city other than dinner for a first date? Any nice places to take a walk?
Thanks
