I went to applebees about a month after it opened.. it was pricey, I had to wait 30 min for them to bring me the wrong plate, then about 10 min for the right plate... and the food was cold.. they almost forgot my booze.. I complained so much they gave me my drinks free

I heard La Cave moved. If it did, it just couldn't have the same atmosphere as it used to...pity
oh and umm..edit: I just read the previous posts about the move ha
So, I would have to say La New La Cave must La Suck

I've been to Australia and I never heard about anyone eating kangaroos

Do you really think it's a good idea to get in the car with someone after just meeting them and possibly get yourself stranded at Peggy's Cove? or anywhere?

Marita_b, my intention wasn't to tell people to go jumping into cars with perfect strangers, it was more for when they get to know each other a little better, anywhere public on a first date would be my suggestion.

Perhaps I should have stated that in my message.

I say be wild ... get in that car ... go for that long drive down the deserted road through the heavy tree growth

Actually some of the funnest adventures I've had were when I wasn't thinking about what I was doing ... just out and having fun ... maybe I'm lucky to still be here now, but oh well ... I can look back and remember and smile ... oh the good times

Chives on Barrington Street...and so is Tribeca..both have great service, incredible food, not too pricey...and not so loud that you can't hear each other! Atmosphere is important I know...but some places like Jack Astor's and ESM can be so loud you could miss half of your date's conversation!..But I agree with the Fireside...it has it all! Bon Appetit!

La Cave, was only really known for their dessert (cheesecake for the ladies): oh and the whole cave concept in cave version1 was neat.

As for applebees, it is pretty good. I didn't find it overly expensive but I guess it depends what your used to. The Keg now that is expensive ( but good), 5 Fisherman, same.

One of my favorite places to go to is Opa!, Saganaki (sic)... , Flaming cheese is always a ice breaker.

Funny, only because the Frigate is much newer then the Tribeca

(funny using the new place to give directions to an older place ... ok so maybe not funny to you, but darn gosh it it's funny to me, leave me alone and let me laugh! Poop on you! No, I'm not upset, why would you think I was? did you not hear me? Leave me alone! Goodbye! I said goodbye!!!)

ok for all the likers and lovers of pool (which is also now a $million sport), the best place in halifax to play is Locas. Locas is located on Salter St. and was originally the Cue & Cushion, est. 1949, as the oldest pool hall east of Montreal. They are more of a bar/billiard room now and have great toasted sandwiches and wine. Every Friday night there is a handicapped 9-Ball tournament. Handicaps ensure that ANYONE can win. There is usually a hundred bucks for first place. Starting Saturday Feb. 18th, 2006 the regions top pool players will be battling it out. Both Friday night and Saturday night tournaments offer participants a high-definition digital video recording of their match... great for a different night out!

Here in the Annapolis Valley there is a fun place to go in Wolfville called Joe's Food Emporium (Bet i spelled that wrong!) There is everything you can think of on the menu from steaks and seafood to burgers and fries, it has (in my opinion) an awesome eat in atmosphere, nice service from the staff and in the summer, a patio to go out and eat and drink on. There are televisions situated around the restuarant in case there is a good game on and if your date loves hockey or football then there is a good conversation breaker right there! Plus for alumni of Acadia University, there are lots of awesome team photos and stuff from the past to look at around the restuarant and even more old team photos down the street at the Anvil (legendary Wolfville bar) which is owned by the same owner.

Bored is absolutely right about the atmosphere there...Fireside is my favourite place in metro. The food is always good, the waitstaff are fabulous too. And the martinis! well!!

I have to agree with bored and tenacious. The Fireside is an excellent place to sit and talk and have a few martinis. Plenty of sofas to lounge upon, many in front of fireplaces. The food is great too!!

I also like The Economy Shoe Shop. The atmosphere is very eclectic. If you enjoy seafood, try the haddock and scallop dish.

The Economy Shoe Shop....great place, good food, decent prices.
Never been there at night, only for brunch, and we sat in the solarium, so it was bright.

Who has the best Chicken wings around?
Posted: 3/13/2006 5:25:04 PM
Hi, this isn't related to dating, but rather, chicken wings.

Where do you get the best chicken wings around HRM, the place I used to get them has closed down and I've tried a few places and have been disappointed.
