The Mandarin in Missassauga (In the Orion Gate area) is pretty impressive. Nothing like "North American" chinese food....I prefer dim sum at some smaller, more original chinese restaurant really. They always seems so shocked that a white guy like me knows how to use chop sticks.

For food:

Downtown Toronto:
Can do the tourist thing...

Hard Rock Cafe Skydome or Yonge St.
Planet Hollywood in front of the CN Tower
The Spaghetti Factory

A little farther north:

Like Greek Food?

The Danforth is the place to be!!!
Where else in the world can you get hungry at 4:30am and hit the Danforth at 5am for dinner and have authentic Greek cuisine?

Chinatown is another great location... Walk around, see the sites and grab something to eat...

Extra Money?

Benihana's at The Royal York Hotel.

Toronto

The Beach Cafe at Ashbridges Bay. In the summer, the outdoor cafe is built around big old trees, with the boardwalk just off yonder. After having some reasonable food, reasonably priced, and people watching, you can go for a walk along the boardwalk. Go to the tip of Ashbridges Bay and see all of the Toronto waterfront east and west. Musicians play along the boardwalk (good time to see how humanitarian your date is). Lots of dogs, children, couples in love. Very wholesome and relaxing.

Well in KW good places to eat would have to be

Moosewinooski's=OMG AMAZING Wings !

Mongolian Grill

Sorry fffrosty imma have to disagree with you on Sole and Rudenative.....

First of all rudenatives dishes are all prettylike n stuff....but rather a mediocre taste at best....and omfg expensive ! i dunno maybe it's just you but i don't think people usually get $60-$80 meals for dates normally....

Sole once again crazily expensive and not a great selection and while the atmosphere is amazing....i've had better food at kelsey's !

Pita Pit is a super good place for a quick and inexpensive bite to eat....i highly recommend Pita Factory or NY Pita on King st !

For Pizza...while pizza hut has amazing tasting pizza's and pizza pizza is also great quality i'd have to say that Twice The Deal Pizza is the best and most economic....i mean where else can you get AMAZING tasting pizzas for so cheap ! 1 LARGE pepperoni pizza ? $5.75 !!! FLAT ! and just a couple nights ago....1 EXTRA LARGE 3 topping pizza for only just over $10 and both these prices are INCLUDING TAX !

and for a great relaxing non tension place to go....

Lotus Tea House - Awesome and exotic *not to mention cheap !* teas such as tangerine tea *try it you'll totally be hooked* unless you're a vegetarian though it's not a great place to eat !

and while the atmosphere is amazing

Bingo.

Moose Winooskis is where I go after climbing or hanging out with my buddies dude. The Moose is a place where buddies gather to make their plans. (not my idead..of date; unless it's a group date) ;)

Mongolian Grill

I meet my mom there for lunch sometimes. Fun place.

First of all rudenatives dishes are all prettylike n stuff....but rather a mediocre taste at best

I really have to disagree.

Anyways, MArche in Toronto is SO fun. THAT is one of my FAVORITES!! (However, maybe not the best date place?) It's just SO busy and eventful. (one of my favorites..for sure) [in BCE centre]

The Spaghetti Factory

Awesome food.

That's the one on Steeles..correct?

West end T.O....little hole in the wall called Al Lago....specialize in pasta/seafood...no menu, just tell the owner what you feel like.....reasonable prices for an INCREDIBLE and MEMORABLE meal.

THESE are my favorite types of places dude!! (where you feel like "uncle Lago" cooks for you!)

Everyone has a favour chain restaurant. One of the reasons they are good is because of the quality of food they serve. I am suggesting more out of the way or local restaurants if you were in that area. Such as Pimento's in Whitby, Shrimp****ail in Oshawa, Rainbow Restaurant in Oshawa, diner style, old but good food and great portions.

Jetplague - you crack me up! Again, I don't want to laugh, but even your profile pictures are funny!

I like spending time at Edwards Gardens, it's beautiful, smells nice, overflowing with beautiful plants and flowers. Enough people that it's not spooky, but quiet and serence enough that you can rally talk and get to know someone. I think we should be looking for more than just restaurant reviews. A beach walk is nice in the summer, City Hall with all the lights on while ice skating is great. I just think we are on here, because we have not met our mates in a bar, a bookstore, church or a restaurant. I still think sticking to something wholesome is the best bet though. At least you have a clear mind to figure out whether you really have anything in common or not!

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze Holy hopeless romantics batman! NEVER EVER EVER!!! Take a date to restaurants that are chains/franchise...cause you may run into problems, last thing you want is a problem when your having a good time, last thing you want is bad food, overcooked undercooked, or worse a hair in it. ALWAYS spend the extra money in going to a NICE restaurant none of that kelseys crap or boston pizza, surrounded by a bunch of drunk teens who just make alot of noise and stuff like that. Goto yorkville down town toronto, theres a french restaurant I haven't been there in a few months, forgot the exact name but its called something normand, delicious french food excelent service good ambiance. If you dont want to be so fancy, go durring lunch hour, dress more casual and you recieve great service none the less. Sushi is good only if your date loves and I mean LOVES sushi. It has to be worth the price, if its cheap sushi its cause its cheap fish. Wholesaled crap or injured fish that are normally sold to be parted off, kinda like a scrap yard for cars. LOL Also another reason to only take her if she loves sushi is "why would you waste money on a girl who couldn't appreciate the delicacy;s of fine dining?" There is also another restaurant in yorkville to which is a small one not sure of the name either forgot it, however it has a rooftop patio, Good for spring not winter obviously, its across from the main parking lot, they have excellent food and service. I ate at all the restaurants in yorkville so far, and personally I find that the smaller the restaurant as in the least busy, the better experience you have. Because of the lack of popularity they want clients coming back for more. Thus they take care of you much better.

The Keg of course if you are a big lobster lover like me. The Keg Mansion house at Isabella & Jarvis is the most romantic.
Also Frankie Tomatoes is very nice at Woodbine, just north of Steeles.
Alice Fazoolis @ Leslie/Don Mills and Hwy 7 go east to East Beaver Creek. There is also The Keg in the same plaza, as well as a raw oyster bar! (for those who require aphrodisiacs)

Although the food and atmosphere are excellent at Montana's, the service in Newmarket really sucks!
The Crow's nest on Prospect/Bayview, just north of Mulock in Newmarket has excellent food, service and atmosphere at a very reasonable price. There is a river full of ducks right beside it and a wooded parking lot.

I tend to like going out for dates wheret he atmosphere and food are just superb. I'd be so insulted if anyone took me to Swiss Chalet or some cheap ass pizza parlour. I prefer the Keg, Papillon, the Hard Rock Cafe, Sushi Tei, Crispy Roll on Queen St. W, there's also a sweet little French restuarent in Kensington market, I forget what it's called, but it's so delish. Zen in Montreal and there's this one mexican spot in Vancouver on West Fourth Ave. that's just loverly. Bifteque is to divine too.

ICE CREAM: Dutch Dreams by far one of the most popular places you absolutely have to try it
(Located on St Clair and Vaughan)

Holy shit. Somebody else that knows about the place. I know the owner. Great guy. Used to give me free ice cream when I'd go there with my grandfather (they're friends) (when I was kid). Get the bubble gum ice cream, peanut butter ice cream, or the miniature belgian waffle cookies.

Everybody, go to Dutch Dreams!!!! (ooooops......I'm vegan now, not supposed to be advocating the consumption of animal products......hah)

Dutch Dreams: I think my gf took me there once and if its the place I think it is, its GREEEEEEEEEEEAT especially if you loooooove ice cream like I do.

Im surprised no one has suggested SNUG HARBOUR down in PORT CREDIT (Mississauga). Theres a whole bunch of little independent restaurants down there that range in prices and different cuisine and are excellent for first dates and meets. You can go for a coffee and walk after dinner too.

There's a ton of great places in the GTA but what I found best when I did date - keyword DID lol - was going to the Beach, Danforth, Little Italy, Chinatown or Queen West and walking around and finding a place which you both agree to dine. This way you have to walk, and talk and get to know each other a bit more to help each other agree on a place. The more hungry you get, the more you pay attention to each others likes and dislikes of food and restaurant standards and the sooner you get to go INTO a place to eat!

But at the rate that Im going these days - whats a date?

And to the guy who suggested a restraurant downtown and in the Beaches area - its called the SUNSET GRILL - I knew the one in the Beach VERY WELL and now there's one in Mississauga too.

I think the best place is to go to shorty's house. You know...raid the fridge, make a mess of her kitchen, try on her clothes or use them as napkins....I'm sure she wouldn't mind.
