| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/3/2005 4:04:31 PM | jus4funvw; hope you don't mind me clowning... it relieves the tension.
I used a film crew in the making of a student documentary about the paranormal; there is something there. I have also seen things personally, but it isn't so much as what was seen as much as how it made me feel. The only thing that came close to it was standing at Ground Zero... I just couldn't wait to get away... I never felt so hung up in my life then. I stood outside the Dakota building in New York and could feel something too, maybe I'm just over sensitive but there are remnants left behind, most certainly. Some may laugh but to this day I can’t walk through a graveyard.
Just because we can't see anything, or very little, doesn't mean they're not here. There are many things that can't be seen, i.e. electricity, radio waves, the wind etc. Now though, technology is catching up and can produce the unexpected! I often feel my mother's presence, she died 10 years ago... now, she was a religious soul and yet my dad who died 8 years ago and wasn't religious, I never felt anything... yet.

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/3/2005 4:11:20 PM | The only ghosts I knew were Casper and his friends. Casper was supposed to be a guy ghost, but, I think he leaned a little to the other side. | |

I can't be near a childs grave without crying. It comes on very suddenly and I can't seem to stop it untill I get away from the grave site.

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/3/2005 4:42:07 PM | | I agree with you seriouslyfunnylady. I recently returned to my childhood home and found that familiar spirits still live there. It was comforting to be there and experience this. | |

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/3/2005 4:57:34 PM | Just4fun--
I have spirits around me much of the time with the work I do. Some are guides and teachers and two are guardians. As for others well they do come and go. They tend to come with the people I work with and move on when they have had the chance to give their message to the person who has come to me for help.
I do know people in law enforcement who tend to have a lot of spirit energy around them because of their line of work. Most of it is usually children who have the misfortune of being caught in the crossfire or having their innocent lives snuffed out because they are unfortunate enough to have been born/brought into criminal circumstances and cannot defend themselves.
Now I do not care what Christians and other naysayers think... I have seen grown men and women, seasoned law enforcement officers, turn grey and come to tears when I am able to describe the crime scene and explain to them that the child's death either happened before they got there or was caused by someone else during the incident. If it was their fault in some way it is good for them to understand that they are forgiven for the unintentional death. I have seen amazing ghost pictures of children (that I know are verified as legitimate photos) and have been able to describe the scene that caused the child's death. I was also able to give accurate details as to the age, sex and appearance of the child including the clothing they were wearing on the day they died.
Now none of this has any importance except to the officers involved. Knowing that what they are sensing, seeing and feeling is real and is there because of an unfortunate situation then allows them to let go. Most times the child spirit follows them because these police officers suffer heavy burdens at the loss of young life. Usually the spirit children are trying to let the person know that they are ok and that they do not hate the officer for what happened.
Others can say I am nuts or that I am dealing with the Devil or whatever, but I have seen the difference my mediumship makes in the lives of people who do have to deal with the nasty side of life and society so that I can live in relative peace and safety. For what they do and what that allows me to enjoy I am glad to help any way I can!

Both. I have seen ghosts, 2 very very clearly...was laying next to one in bed. No fears. I actually scared the wits out of him.
They mostly don't show themselves except in movement, dropping things, etc.. I like living with them. I guess they sort of keep me company. Haven't had any visits since I've been in my city apartment, 1 month. They are all over the house in the country, when they want to be...

What about; the Ghosts often appear to people that have personel "demons" or personel Issues? Does this make any sense? Or is it just some people are more sensitive to seeing them than others?

You are either sensative to spirits...or you aren't. Think of it this way:
A spirit is wandering through your house... you don't beleive in ghosts but your best friend does. So.. your friend comes and tells you they saw a ghost..you laugh it off and say "you are crazy". Now... let's say there IS a ghost... who will it reveal themselves to? The one who doesn't beleive in ghosts and doubts their exsistance, or the one who beleives in them?
Not too hard to figure out! I've seen them as well.. it's an amazing experience.

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/4/2005 2:52:03 PM | well if u consider the Matrix theory, yeah they exsist and makes since why they are here

You are sooo correct. My bf has seen and heard some things in my house. I didn't tell him about a particular situation. It was a nightly visit. Then he was there one night and stopped short in my bedroom doorway and said there was someone in my hall. I said they were there every night and just watch. I told him it wasn't my late husband. He agreed. I think he respected that I was visited and maybe half believed until he felt that presence. Another guy here on POF had a doorbell ring with no one there after I told him how often this happens to me. One night while we were on the phone it happened - at his place.
I used to rent out my house and every renter - EVERY renter - except one; so like 7.... heard the same sounds I did in that house. Like music, a radio. When you go to look for it, it goes away. One saw an apparition and felt a hand on her shoulder. She was a big believer. That was the house I found one in my bed and one hovering over the valance.
I believe, accept, like them really. Same with animals. They know who to stay away from too, sometimes just by seeing them, smelling them, (reading their minds?)
It's all good. Ah, least I forget. Some of my apparitions are alien like, rather than ghost like. maybe they know I'm ok with them too?

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/5/2005 6:25:45 PM | I don't think I can add much more than Ed has already explained...Ghosts are US..on a different plane, without a body.
The origonal post asks how they fit into things...well what do you mean by this?
How do they fit into earth? This dimension & time? Contact with us?

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/5/2005 7:39:51 PM | My Dear Cat:
I'm happy you read my note. Here's my case for reincarnation, and it's simply this, if you were a spiritual being, how old might you be?
If you think about that for a few minutes, you might have a realisation, that perhaps you were here a very long time before the body you are in was born. There is no relationship between DNA and a spirit. They are not miscible!
This factor combined with anecdotal evidence sets the stage, no? Now then as for it being voluntary, I suppose if you were particularly advanced, or powerful you could hold off, but I am very happy to consider the matter a personal one, because of course, it is!
Such a clever cat..

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/5/2005 7:56:53 PM | Seriouslyfunnylady and Skypoetone:
Madam: I noted with pathos your comments about the emotions evoked in cemetaries, and certain similar areas and remembered that on a Thread started by SFL, I had made similar comments about the transferance of emotion across a distance. The phenomena you are describing is so common it's a natural ability we have (to leave our emotions lying around to be picked up by others). The heavier ones are most easily perceived because their vibrational frequency is so low (sort of like the music from "Jaws" the Shark's Theme). The high ones like joy and so forth are there and will manifest themselves when we smile as we enter a pleasant area. But we have to be in pretty good shape to really feel all of the joy that's left behind.
That's the interesting thing. The emotions aren't so much left behind, but a link to their source is there and we stumble on that. There are links or communication lines between places we've been and us. We get feelings about others when they aren't here because we have communication lines to them. When people stumble on these they can pick up on them and feel the original emotion in a lessened form, but the source is the being themselves, not some echo that's lingering in the room. Is that clear? The room or grave isn't the source of the emotion. It merely contains the communication line or link to the being who provides the emotion (beneath their awareness level). When someone goes to Flanders and feels a chill at a WWI battle field, the emotions are actually provided by the guys that were killed and wounded there, in present time. Some maybe stuck right there as ghosts, others could be bank clerks in Cleveland today but their emotions today are what are being experienced by others at a distance. Those emotions relate to the incident of trauma, and are the original emotions felt at the time by the person.
This is a very complex thing and not easy to describe, but it also explains why psychics sometimes pick up on a lot of emotion, but no ghost when they do their investigations.
Well, the above is my opinion, but it explained a lot for me, and I'm happy to share it with you.

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/7/2005 9:37:52 AM | Dear Creepy:
There is a good chance that when you saw the objects being moved, there was a child in the room, or nearby, close to the age of Puberty. If it was you at the time, then it was you who was making them move. Likely related to some deep seated anger boiling over, a real fury you may not consciously be aware of. The Telekenisis is occurring beneath your awareness level. On a level we could say like the instructions given your heart to beat. It occurs, you just are not normally aware of it.
Let me know if this is even close to what you noticed.
Thanks,
Ed.. | |

| Ghosts, where do they fit into things Posted: 11/7/2005 8:14:14 PM | | Ed; I have witnessed objects move with children in the other room sleeping...so I don't know if that is a possible explanation....and after the objects moved, I told the person the house was haunted. A week later the spirit appeared to them as a black figure. | |
