Posted: 10/29/2006 4:18:50 PM | Worse still is when a male sales rep is telling you his positive experiences with various items, for example vibrating panties and this massive double headed dildo. Me, I found it mildly amusing, but my girlfriend was a little creeped out.
Now, in another shop with a different woman, a few of the female associates were extolling the virtues of several vibrators, sounding as if they had used all of them. A lot less creepy, but a lot more amusing when the male reps are around.
Hasn't happened yet, but imagine you're testing out a new toy using the tried and true technique of resting it on the tip of your nose. Then your friend/co-worker/family member walks in  | |

I didn't know people used them to mix drinks though. :P
This reminds me that the last time I went into a Sex shop the casheir there seemed embarassed as hell when she was advising people on what products to buy.
You would think after working there for a while that it wouldn't be much of a big deal.

Posted: 10/29/2006 8:00:55 PM | hehehe, my best friend introduced me to the wonders of shopping at our local sex store, and then I wound up bringing other friends along shopping (just me and another friend each time cuz they were embarrassed a little) and I swear the lady who runs the place thought I was a madam or something! It was pretty funny.
Actually, my mom's a pretty cool lady but had also never been in one of those stores so I brought her one time, and she says "oh, condoms, girls need condoms" and she picks up a pack and says "can I buy these for you" and they were anal condoms... ROFL. I told her not to bother I just shop for them at Zellers! Poor mom.
I do most of my shopping online now, there's a really neat store out of vancouver that I like, Womyn's Ware (they have a great woman-friendly website) and their so far I've only managed to burn out one of the toys I bought through them ;) | |

Posted: 11/6/2006 9:22:54 AM | There is an even better shop in Toronto called For Her and it is on Harbord. Very cool store in an old house. It is run by a group of lesbians who all must test a new product before it goes for sale. So if you need feedback on any toy you get it in intimate detail.
I once asked about the vibrating panties and she said they were great. She gave them to a girlfriend and went to a party. Half way through the girlfriend came to her and begged her to turn them off. Her remote control wasn't on, it appeared that someone else at the party had teh same remote controlled vibrating panties. :-)
Another great feature is their women's only hours, so women can take their time and not be drooled over by silly men who think that because they are there they are easy.
They also have an extensive series of workshops, every thing from striptease, massage to fisting.
