Why do women like Jerks
women do not like jerks...(my opinion)
they like guys who are edgy...
some want to be pampered, some want to be taken...some like both- some you have to figure out when ...
most women like guys who treat them nicely, but are not "sucker sweet" ie: yes men, wishiewashie predictable men...
"Why do women like Jerks" is like sayin "why do decent hard working men like whack-jobs?"

I am wondering if that screening agent is nothing more than a test for the existence of a Y chromosome. You might get a few false positives that way but it'd sure be an effective screening test. | |

beef jerky is ok once in a while.
Ive never liked a jerk in my life and Im pretty darn sure I never will.
they're just kinda like a big ol silly waste of time, arent they?
naaaa i always preferred my man to be already grown up and familiar with good manners.
if i wanted to TEACH someone proper behavior and socialization then i guess Id have some babies and start from scratch with them, eh?? naaaaa I aint raisin' no "man"....thats his parents job. They can deal with that big ol mess....
I'm patient, I really enjoy my own company, I know I deserve the BEST and I know I can have it too. sooooooooooooooo I don't fool around with the riff-raff.

The kind of guy you are talking about tends to be aggressive, self important,
overly self confident and often charismatic. Evolutionary biology 101.
In the wilds, those traits were advantagous to survival.
In our tribal, wild past, a woman who found those characteristics appealing
would pass on not only the jerks genes, but her own.
Bottom line,
you can take the girl out of the forest, but you cant thake the forest out of the girl.
In evolutionary terms , nice guys really do finish last. | |

Hes an awsome person and im glad he makes her happy. But ya ALOT of girls go for those strong, jerky types. They swear they want typical nice guys but they(idk if im considered one or not.) get overlooked, probly because they arent as fun. Idk who knows maybe thats why im over looked xD | |

I don't think it has anything to do with evolution. It has to do with our hegemonic patriarchal beliefs that are preached throughout education and entertainment. The alpha male is praised. The Die Hard with a Vengeance gun slinging Magnum P.I.'s /007 that live on the edge, and get girl after girl. So some men see that and try to exemplify that because they want the women that come with it. Women see it and think its hot because its been ingrained since birth... and some think they'll get that guy and make him monogamous. Then some guys eventually get tired of running around and want to settle down... but they want the younger girls that haven't been ran through. It's a jacked up cycle. (Although I know there are plenty of outliers that don't fit in this observation.) | |

I rate right in the top end of the alpha scope, because I am self confident. Well, there are a number of things that lead to that type A rating, but despite common belief, it does not stand for arse hole.
It is just that you are more prone to a certain set of characteristics, and alpha personalities are often tied to very successful people. I could not be nailed with narcissism, far from it actually. I tend to think in terms of how people are going to respond to things before I present them, often keeping silent rather than just ticking people off, but my... inner drive and self confidence shows in a lot of area's. My big question... Is it being successful that makes you alpha? or are you already an alpha type and that leads to success?
When people lump Type A's and jerk's into the same category I can easily see why, some behaviors straddle the line, the question you need to ask though is if the person is doing that because he is a dork, or because he is heading for some goal and is a bit blinded to the rest of the world by it.
If the former, then they are probably not worth talking to. If the latter, it may well be worth a shot in pointing out that their behavior is causing discomfort. A decent person will attempt to change it.

Reasons why Women date Jerks instead of nice guys (from menarejerks.com):
More fun to complain about them to your friends.
Guys who actually like you just aren't challenging or exciting.
When you do date nice guys, they turn into jerks anyway, so why not save time and go for the jerk in the first place?
You won't get as emotionally attached to a jerk.
All the other women want them, so they must be worth having.
Affection means more when it comes from a jerk who doesn't normally give it.
Guaranteed to cheat on you so someone else can endure his lack of lovemaking skills most of the time.
No need to feel guilty for abusing or deceiving them.
Jerks will actually tell you when thy don't like what you're doing instead of getting mad about it six months later.
Looking for someone you can't trust, and won't care about too much - or who will abuse you mentally and financially.

Posted: 10/10/2007 2:32:18 PM | ^^I've known many beef JERK-ee's in my day and it isn't the emphasis on 'tough' that makes them intolerable. It's the emphasis on 'JERK'.
Of course this is not an affliction exclusive to the male species, but it is my experience to have dealt more with males than females. I would imagine there are differences in jerkdom (?) between the genders, but a jerk is a jerk is a jerk is a jerk.
They may be tough to chew, but you can always spit them out however!
See? There's always a solution!  | |
