| How did your parents meet? Posted: 3/27/2008 11:00:59 AM | My mother and another lady (now known as Aunt so-and-so to our family) went on a double date with my dad and his friend. Dad was supposed to be with Auntie and the other guy was with my mom.....Obviously my mother and dad ended up dating and getting married, and the guy my mom went out with? He's now married to Auntie. | |

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 3/27/2008 6:08:06 PM | | My parents met in bank in the Philippines. Don't remember the details, but my mom told me that my dad (he's filipino) was visiting family for being in the U.S. most of his time working, and just chatted up with my dad. They were a perfect couple meant to be. | |

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 3/28/2008 11:02:40 AM | | My parents met at college - they didn't attend the same college, though. My mom was a "rush girl." Fraternities would invite pretty local girls to attend the rush parties to attract more guys to rush. Mom says that she and my dad were introduced to each other many times, but she was afraid that he never remembered her because it was always at fraternity parties, and to be honest, he was probably quite drunk. However, two weeks before my mom graduated, my dad called her and asked her out. Within two weeks of that date, he declared that he would marry her, and by the end of that year, they were married! They celebrated their 44th anniversary in December of 2007. I should be so lucky to be so in love for so long. | |

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 3/28/2008 4:58:14 PM | My parents met in Bible College in Ohio. Mom was 25 and Dad was 19. They dated for a while and then got permission to bring my Mom home to my grandparents. (boy things have changed in over 40 years...he had to have permission from the college and both sets of parents) Anyway my Dad brought my Mom home and my aunts (twins) wanted to play with their big brother but, he didn't have much to do with them on that trip. They still complain about it to this day...well ok they tease him about it. Anyway, shortly after that trip back home they headed back to College and it was there that my mom told my dad how old she was and he about flipped out...ok he did flip out...this past summer my mom & dad took my sister and I back to where they went to college and where I was born and Dad showed us where he STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET when my mom told him how old she was. Yup he flipped but, he must not have cared too much after that because they got married a few months later and they will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversery this summer.
Anyway, I got to see the places I've always heard about when they were dating and my sister and I related all of our parents happiness and silly goings on this past summer to our other sibblings...Our parents were like two young people in love all over again this past summer visiting the town where I was born. I was good to see. I want that same joy in my marriage.

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 4/21/2008 7:01:03 PM | I think that is wonderful! Congratulations to both of them...My parents met after the war. My mom was just 18 and they were married..Dad was 8 years older..They were married for 20 years and would have still been married today had she not died at 38 and left 8 children at home...Dad kept us together and there were hard times but we all grew up eventually...I think it is very special to hear that love does exist and lasts and your parents are proof of that... | |

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 4/21/2008 9:25:33 PM | | Haha My dad borrowed a cup of sugar and I was conceived a couple of hours later. They married when she found out and then divorced when I was four. Crazy enough, my aunts and my maternal grandma were all so happy that I looked like my dad when I came out. | |

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 8/11/2008 5:03:46 PM | Mom left her small town to go to the big city for work and was living in a womens boarding house. Dad had gotten out the the Marines, was working on the railroad and dating a girl that lived in the same boarding house. One evening he and a buddy arrived at the boarding house to pick up their respective dates. Mom walked through the lobby, Dad pointed at my mom, turned to his buddy and said "Thats my future wife." Dad asked mom out the next weekend (he had to wait till he got paid), dated three months and married at the courthouse... and I was born a year later.
Dad always said he was instantly attracted to her because she had a wonderful smile, legs that started at her armpits (she was 6 ft tall), and carried herself like a queen.

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 8/12/2008 3:14:52 PM | My parents were older, and so this was somewhere in the 1950's.
My dad had a very small tour company in Washinton, D.C., and was driving a tour bus. My mother ran away from her home in Oregon, where she was tired of working on the farm, and set out hitch hiking to see the world.
Finally making it to our Nation's capitol, she decided to take a tour. She stepped on the bus, and the driver was the most dark, handsome man she'd ever seen.
My eldest sister was born about a year later, much to the chagrin of my eldest half-brother, who was still married to this handsome man. They eventually divorced, and I came along several years later when he actually married my mom.

My father was in the air force at the time, and had come to visit his grandmother. My great grandmother introduced them. They got married two weeks later in 1955, and were married until my dad passed away in 1999.

| How did your parents meet? Posted: 8/13/2008 7:25:07 PM | My mother was introduced to my father by a mutual friend during high school. They were sweet hearts, got married, and had 3 kids.
Now for the somewhat weird twist....
My father died at 35. My mother married another man she fell deeply in love with and was with him for 20 odd years until he passed away from cancer. 8 months ago her sister was at a camp site and by chance ran into the man who had introduced my mother to my father 40 years ago in high school. He had recently lost his wife to cancer also. My aunt got him in touch with my mother and they have been enjoying each others company since. It has turned into a very healthy and healing relationship for both them. So my mother is now with the man who first introduced her to my father.
Life can be serendipitous.
