There were only about 70 of us at the performance and there was a meet and greet afterwards. I was the last one to talk with him, and we stood there talking for about 20 minutes. It was great!

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 12/4/2005 9:49:20 PM | Met Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac) at a inpromptu outdoor concert for 100 people.
I enjoyed most of the performance, but he had a terrible amp that was distorting whenever he sang too loud. I thought this odd, considering his knack for being such an perfectionist audiophile.
Lindsey pulled up in a limo, jumped out, played for an hour, signed autographs, then he jumped back in the limo. I got the chance to ask some music questions and it was great to meet him face to face.

Unless you count the time I spit bubble gum on Scott Travis' (Judas Priest drummer) shoe. He came out of a store I was passing, and I was blowing a bubble, and the rest is history....He was nice though, just laughed and said it was ok......I just stood there in awe like an idiot.

Well, singing migth not be the rigth term. It was more like trashing their chorus practice with a stupid frat anthem! Who's laughing now?

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 12/16/2005 2:19:12 PM | I just had to write something here because it's always so cool to meet musicians. I am usually the kind of person who will go see unknown/unsigned bands for the most part...
But to add my 2 cents worth;
The last band I met was Jimmy Eat World. I met Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran last Feb and I just stood there speechless because I was a huge fan back in the day. I've also met Def Leppard, Stone Temple Pilot singer, some of the new bands like The Killers and The Strokes. I got the opportunity to go back stage at the KROQ weinie roast a couple of years ago. That was awesome.

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 12/18/2005 3:10:37 PM | Does meeting Fozzy count?
My buddy has met a few big names backstage: van halen and velvet revlover to name a couple. For van halen he bought the a ticket package that included the backstage shit. He got Michael Anthony on the cell to talk to me hehehe that was fun cause I was studying for an exam at the time!
For Velvet Revolver he got backstage because he went to the concert with a girl with large fake boobs. You are pretty much guaranteed backstage if you are with one of those hotties at any concert hanging out near the backstage area before a concert.

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 3/6/2006 11:01:05 PM | i've met gwen stefani when she sang for no doubt on their first tour, we chatted for about 5-10 minutes about my band at the time, the next day i saw her on the cover of Spin Magazine... i was like, whoa! i've met the canadian band, the ghandarvas, ryan dahle, the lead singer of another great canadian band called limblifter (http://www.limblifter.com) , jimmy page from led zeppelin, eddie vedder from pearl jam, jason everman ex of soundgarden and nirvana, byron stroud from strapping young lad/many other bands... tom cochrane, bono from u2, mike d and mca from the beastie boys, iron maiden (twice, yes, i'll admit it, it was high school daze), prev, rob the viking and madchild from swoLLen members @ an outdoor rave in chilliwack, bc...
the coolest moment though, was a brief meeting of about 15 seconds...
soundgarden, the town pump, 1990, louder than love tour...
chris cornell dives into the pit, ends up on his back, his eyes staring right into mine, and we screamed with insanity and good energy... that guy is kiLLer... the tops and i am not talking only about his music... very powerful man, much more than a man actually... super natural
anyway...

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 5/27/2006 10:02:23 AM | | I know Chrissie Hynde's brother Terry...does that count? One hell of a sax man, he got an offer to play with the Allman Brothers but turned it down. Also I once played in a jazz group that opened for Buddy Rich, got to meet him backstage, went to school with a guy who played drums for Maynard Ferguson...you gotta have connections! Most of mine are in the classical and church music areas though. I also have a relative who is very well known in the Christian music world but I won't mention his name. I will only say that he is on TV a lot. | |

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 6/2/2006 4:00:42 PM | I've been backstage at afterparties and got to meet a bunch of different bands over the years: Seether, Evanescence, Dark New Day, Crossfade, Flyleaf, Shinedown, Halestorm, Breaking Benjamin, Socialburn, Nonpoint, Hurt and a bunch more that I can't think of right now.
Sometimes it's pure luck and other times it's about who you know and who knows you..
