| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 11/13/2006 8:25:13 PM | I've seen him act the prick... in the movie "hail hail rock'n roll" when Keith and Robert Cray were rehearsing with him for his birthday bash in St. Louis... he started yelling at RC... Keith stepped in between... said he'd been punched out by CB before... also Jerry Lee Lewis got punched out by CB... he said.
Another interesting CB fact: he wasn't born in east st. Louis. He started telling people that after 1971 when the city of San Jose CA, where he was actually born; wanted to build a statue of him and wouldn't pay him something about doing it. He said he'd say he never knew the place and then he changed his whole biograph.
Bill Wyman backs this up in his blues anthology.
We think we know people through their art...
Not him, to be sure. | |

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 11/13/2006 11:08:27 PM | I've met Chad Grey, the frontman for mudvayne. chatted with him for a bit before one of the shows. I met Mikle Steele at the same show. He's the guitarist for Bobaflex.
I was pretty close to meeting Lajon Witherspoon of Sevendust, but this was right after his brother was killed, thought it best to leave him be. | |

| Met any well renouned musicians/bands? Posted: 11/14/2006 12:46:48 AM | | Martin Gore (head writer of Depeche Mode) met me at the Viper Room in Los Angeles after they played what was then called the Forum, and invited me back to the house to party with him that night. Carmine Appice, tried to pick me up, I blew him off. Let's see, met Terry Bozzio, Warren CUccurullo, Dale Bozzio, Ahmet Zappa,...... Jeff Lynne, Warren DiMartini, Chris Slade (but that was work oriented for my project), from the Firm/Ac-Dc/Gilmour. Gosh, the drummer's list alone is pretty killer here for the top rock drummers of all time in the traditionalist sense. Add Larry Mullen of U2...and you have him, Bozzio, Appice, and Slade ! I almost forgot Larry, ...Seal, ....Daniel Lanois, .....and Emmylou Harris, who I hung out with backstage, along with Dan and Seal, watching her purse while she took off somewhere. I'd have to think about it. My mother was also good friends with Laurie Anderson's sister Dagney. Steve Vai, almost forgot Steve. Guy from Dream Syndicate, Lone Justice, and I know there are more. Oh, speaking of ZZ Top, I sat on the lap of the guy in the Legs and Sharp Dressed Man videos....taking a ride home from seeing U2 in 1984, all the way home, crammed into his sister's car. Phil Lynott's mother, and we talked a long time. Oh, Steven Still's son asked me out. I had the same best friend in school as Bob Dylan's son Jakob. And my father in law was a renoun guitar sessionist in the 60's, enough to be a guest star on****VAn Dyke, but his name was Guillermo Deanda and he is playing on Jose Feliciano's 'Feliz Navidad', and lots of other people's music. My mother in law was friends with Bobby Gentry and Steve Gorme and Edie Lawrence. And I dated son of famed Jazz Pianist Pete Jolly, of whom Herb Alpert was his godfather (my boyfriend) and Herb cofounded A/M REcords...which is why there is a trumpet for the A/M symbol. Then there are people I have been a few feet from....George MArtin, Quincy Jones, Don Was and,,, Brad singer from Boston.....was introd actually, but George was getting too much attention in the room. Oh, I almost forgot Stuart Copeland - at his brother's house, and his brother who was the most important forefather of New Wave. Almost forgot, Derf from FEAR - but that was not just meet, and that should be enough. (To the earlier poster - Stephen Stills was in Buffalo Springfield). Oh, yeah, and Beck Hanson...'Beck'. | |
