I know 4 me I have a very weak stomach, and went on a date when I was a teen w/ a guy who was so cute...!
but god his teeth made my car smell like cavities! barf

you people must be perfect....a guys teeth would be one of the very
last reason I wouldnt care about him (actually it would never be a reason)
And people can say the same thing about overweight people..they dont
take care of themselves..is that correct thinking???Dentists cost money
and if you dont have insurance you usually pay rent, food...take care of your
kids, first. Yellow teeth from us nasty smokers...dont date us..solves that
problem. | |

You dont have to have $ to go to the dentist. You just need to brush and floss every day. If you want to whiten your teeth use baking soda. My dentist told me that when I was in grade school. Now I use a baking soda and peroxide mixture. I would not date someone who has bad teeth it shows that they dont care enough to make sure that one of the first things someone will see is looking its best. I take pride in my appearance and even when I was 125 lbs heavier and a smoker I always had nice white teeth! | |

We got on the topic of dental care and the neighbour proudly announced that he had never ever brushed his teeth in all his 60 years. Then he smiled and flashed the gawd awful things to show that he still had all the originals intact. Never in my life had I seen teeth that were so crusty looking and gross!! I lost my appetite at that point!  | |

world doesnt take it away....the dentist has to fix it, I happen to like white teeth
too, but if the guy was perfect in every other way....his teeth wouldnt be I reason
I wouldnt date him...and by the way some people didnt get to go to the dentist in
grade school....and like I said before maybe the guy, just didnt have the money for
the dentist even when he got older. I've just been with men that had alot
worst problems than bad teeth. I can see your point view..but I also know
what its like not to have the perfect childhood, the perfect look, so I have a hard
time sitting in judgement, I'd give the guy a chance and help him save up for
the dentist, hold his hand during the drilling, whatever it took. | |

Posted: 9/29/2006 7:31:11 PM | I understand what some people are trying to say about cost and such... but personally, sometimes the reason simply doesn't matter. Decay is decay... and decay causes severe bad breath and is extremely unattractive... If I'm to be intimate with someone; regardess of how nice they are, I'm not going to want to kiss them if I can smell and see their cavities from across the table while they are talking to me...
For those of you that find it costly to go to the dentist, check your local university to see if there is a dentistry school - they are usually half the cost of a private practice. Getting a good scaling and a check-up will cost you the same as a few nights out on the town or a week's worth of cigarettes. (Smokes in Canada are over $10 a pack now)
I work in the dental industry and most cases of severe bad teeth are a result of bad oral hygiene. If someone has a broken tooth or a filling has fallen out... that person doesn't have bad teeth, they've got a broken tooth or simply need a filling. What I got from the original post is about dating someone with overall bad teeth... which in turn, comes back to how a person takes care of their mouth.

For me, it is a super turn off. Call me a superficial or what. I met a guy and he already told me he had bad teeth because the last year time he didn't take care of himself because of his gf left him and family stuffs.
When I met him, be honest, it was worse than I thought and he admited to me he didn't brush his teeth for more than half a year because of his teeth problem and when he brushes his teeth he would feel hurt for his gum. I asked him why he didn't take care of it first of all he was seperated, (ok, but not a perfect excuse) then seeing a dentist is to costy. He has very bad teeth and a little bad breath also (probably because of his teeth). After all, I had the gut telling him he is not my type and suggest him as a good friennd please fix his teeth because that would scare away a lot of girls.
Ok, I m a smoker myself and I wouldn't mind a little "smoker teeth". Please have a shiny smile and clean teeth when you go see your date; for all of you reading here. Thank you.

I dated a guy with horrible decay. He was great about brushing, but he grew up in a poor family, and his single mom didn't have dental insurance or the money to send him to a dentist. As a result, he had problems from early on that were never resolved. He had the sweetest personality, but he was so embarassed by his teeth that he never smiled. Long story short, he won 30 grand in the lottery and his first expenditure was on dental implants. After that, he had a smile that matched his heart. And to think, if I had been turned off by his teeth at the start, I would have missed out on that smile..... | |

I'am also a smoker and my teeth aren't perfect but their white because I use whiteners
and take care of my teeth and keep them brushed so as 2 not have tooth ROT, and yes as (Jordannne stated....! also brush ur tounge...?
I know a woman whose teeth R like Milky and run together now because she never beleived in brushing her teeth even in school!
She's a sweet person but makes me sick in my weak stomach 2 talk w/ her cause their so GOOOEY & MILKY and run together and come to a POINT in front...!
U can't even see where the teeth seperate anymore and she has money!
So 2 those of U who don't find this poor HYGIENE....?
Must not have themselves....?
