| Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth? Posted: 5/8/2009 11:00:30 AM |
when he smiles real big he has like decay around the tops of his teeth
It's going to take more than toothpaste to get rid of decay.
If decayed teeth are not filled it can lead to abscesses which means root canals or extractions then dentures.

| Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth? Posted: 9/30/2009 6:04:26 PM | Well I just wanted to thank all of you for letting me in on how it really is... I myself have been cursed with horrible teeth. Genetics have played a big part, no one on my fathers side of the family have kept their teeth past the age of 35. I was also diagnosed with cancer when I was a child, so the chemotherapy and lack of calcium during treatment really helped to start the problem at an early age. Finally my parents didn't have the insurance or means to help when I was younger and I still do not have dental insurance to this day, so I am pretty much forced to live with this curse. I brush and floss multiple times a day yet they are still crumbling out of my mouth. I would go on to list my good qualities but they would pretty much fall on deaf ears from what I am reading. I am 30 years old and do not want to spend the rest of my life alone. Seeing as I dont have an extra 15-20,000 dollars laying around, I feel the next best alternative would be to shotgun blast to the head... Thank you all for making my day. | |

| Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth? Posted: 9/30/2009 7:36:41 PM | I have a hard time with anyone getting close to me who has bad breath. Oral hygiene and reasonably good oral health is at the top of my list of preferences in a man. I like to get close. I enjoy kissing a great deal. I love a good healthy mouth to smuck and lick and smooch. It has always been an absolute deal breaker for me if a man has bad breath and I don't mean stale breath but bad breath from food particles rotting between his teeth or gum disease that is so advanced his flesh and teeth are rotting. I absolutely cannot kiss him and would not be able to get intimate with him.
While I sympathize with anyone who struggles with dental health (I understand that some people lack coverage and just can't get the work done) I do believe that most of it is about neglect.
I'm a big fan of my dental floss. I love having clean teeth and fresh breath and a clean mouth is a sign of good health.
I'm afraid my "disgust" threshold is rather low on this issue. I hate the stink so much that even getting my own teeth cleaned at the dentist's makes me want to hurl for that strange odour it emits.
I can handle less than straight teeth or teeth that are misaligned, as long as they are healthy or well taken care of.

All it can take is one cup of coffee with sugar or coke per day without drinking plenty of water after is enough to burn holes in your teeth. In the OP situation it sounds more like the person isn't brushing there teeth thoroughly since the damage is located in a certain area. I know a woman whose only crime in requiring lots of dental work last year was drinking sports drinks while working out instead of water which led to the problems.

| Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth? Posted: 10/1/2009 6:38:56 AM | | I was hit by a county vehicle and lost a majority of my teeth and I didn't have dental insurance and it took me about 2 months to get them replaced. There are some real nice options to getting teeth replaced and bridges are not as expensive as they use to be. Also there are some people that just have bad teeth with weak enamel that can take all the precautions and still get cavities. | |

| Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth? Posted: 10/1/2009 12:36:39 PM | I love my teeth and so does my dentist because he makes lots of money off them. Just today I plopped down a wad of cash to fix some little cavities before they got out of control. My mouth is probably worth more than some people's cars. I told my kids to pull all the gold out of my mouth when I die.
I won't date a guy with bad teeth.

Whelp... they do have Dentists.......... that can do cosmetic surgeory..... That's expensive, though. Although, if it's bad enough that it's affecting your health, some dental insurance will pay part of the coverage. Often time those teeth need to be pulled and you need a bridge and dentures, or implants. Hmm...you could try to get him on Style By Jury.
The problem for me... would be the intimacy.... kissing...... and such... she could get some type of dental disease!!!! EWW!!! AARGGG... Um that would put a big ole damper on it for me! Aye. I could befriend someone with bad teeth, but yeah, that would be hard for me to deal with. Decaying teeth need to be taken care of and fixed. Actually, I shouldn't say that. If I could get past someone's nasty teeth to get to know them better and they turn out to have an amazing personality, I probably would find myself taking a liking to them and find a way to get those teeth fixed somehow. I'd hold off on the mouthly contact, however.
I worry because I do not have straight teeth...... that ppl will reject me.. but ya know... it hasn't been the reason for the demize of any relationship so far! LOL There's a difference between having crooked teeth and having decaying teeth. There's usually a reason for why your teeth are decaying. Perhaps it's years of neglect, or a case of ondontophobia or anxiety. Is it a case of Meth mouth? Perhaps a nasty case of gingivitis.

| Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth? Posted: 10/1/2009 3:43:17 PM | goodguy_78, this is hugely important to your overall health as well as datability. Teeth that bad will shorten your life. Tooth decay and gum problems are linked to heart attacks and strokes in younger men. Haven't you been through enough already? Don't take my word for it, do a search yourself...
It's really not optional - you have to either get dental insurance or finance the work you need done, probably a combination of both will be needed. There may also be a dental school in your area where you can get work done on a sliding scale. It is medically necessary and it cannot wait.

| Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth? Posted: 10/1/2009 8:33:25 PM | Hey now, I'm living proof that there are SOME girls out there who will date you regardless of hygiene problems, in this case, teeth related. My teeth have always been sub-par for as long as I can remember (Blame my childhood and parents...) and for today, well, I'm still at war with dental insurance and medicare. As for moolah, well, by the time I actually have the money to fully repair my teeth I'll actually be able to own a car.
I've got a million interests that would send most girls running for the hills; on top of that, bad teeth, but I can still find someone. Perhaps I have super powers.
Though having bad teeth was probably the biggest reason I had few/no relationships throughout both middle and high school. But now I can find less close minded people, er, somewhat anyway.
