1 Hophead 2 anything by Unibroue especially Eau Benite or Fin du Monde 3 Stella 4Czechvar (10 time better than bud as it is the originall Bud)
FINALLY someone who has experienced the hoppy, yeasty goodness of Fin Du Monde. It has kept me nice and warm on many a cold snowy night.
Any IPA is tops on my list, especially the Lost Coast Indica IPA from northern california. Nice bite followed by a smooooth finish.
Man if I keep talking about beer Im gonna cream my pannies. lol

| best beer? Posted: 11/12/2005 4:26:04 PM | LGD sits in my fridge all the time...
Bud or MGD sits in the icebox on the boat... (unless one of the other beers in Blaine are on sale - happens a lot - yeahhhhhh!!!)
do you know that Bud is the only beer (big name) brewed primarily with RICE???... read the label!! most people buy it because of the massive advertising...
cheers | |

| best beer? Posted: 11/12/2005 11:04:47 PM | I hate to say this to all of you, but this thread is causing me actual physical pain.
Bud, MGD and Coors are not the best beers. I am sorry to tell this to you, but it's true.
I know that beer preference is a taste, but really people there are standards and saying that Bud is the best beer is like saying recommending a McDonalds Filet of Fish on a thread called " What is the best Seafood Restaurant". Its crazy.
A couple of enlightened folk have mentioned Unibroue, and a true genius mentioned Hophead...even those mentioning Sleemans and Granville Island products are on the right track, but for fvck sakes Corona and Coors are barely even beer.
Beer is a complex brew that has hundreds of brilliant variations. Belgium alone puts out over a hundred different styles...the UK a hundred more, and some of these European brews have been using the same recipie for centuries.
And even here in BC there are great microbreweries keeping real beer alive as part of the microbrewery renaissance. Phillips, Old Yale, Granville Island, Vancouver Island Brewing, Oakanagan Springs.... these local people are making beer that simply puts to shame the macropiss.

| best beer? Posted: 11/23/2005 12:03:43 PM | I'm really suprised nobody's mentioned any Belgians --Chimay, Leffe and Scaldis are fairly high up on my list. Though, I'm lucky to live very close to some amazing microbreweries --one is devoted to Belgians and another has 30 to 40 beers on tap at any time --and they make all of them and a third is known for experimental beers.
Also, I can't believe the emphasis on cold beers --if it tastes good, it usually tastes better when it's warmer. I wish more places had hand pulls.

| best beer? Posted: 11/23/2005 12:19:57 PM | Years ago I made 30 case's of homebrew with a medium ale malt from sctoland. It was the best because I made it myself! lol It was 2-3 times stronger than store bought it seemed. I sure was popular one summer when a beer stike came on! Save the beer bottle washing. Grab a case of Bud. The king of beers. Besides the big horses on their adds are cool! lol | |

In any order depending on the mood, can't go wrong with any of them.
|
| best beer? Posted: 11/23/2005 3:24:43 PM | 1. Kokanee 2. Labbat Genuine Draft 3. Molson Canadian 4. Sleeman's Honey' Lager or Cream Ale 5. Coors Light 6. Budweiser 7. Corona
OT: Everyone knows that one of the three Budweiser frogs got ran over when crossing the road eh! Pretty sad actually. Guess which one? Well it was Bud, because the other two were "Wise" "er" They waited for the light to go green!
