| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 1/7/2006 7:03:18 PM | I haven't met anyone yet that really resembles their pic for gooder badder or uglier. One chick I know is way prettier in person. Her pics do not do her justice at all. This must say something about her personality because she does have a lot of guy friends from this site. Oh shit, I didn't mean to make her a slut!!!! K this is not a suck up just a kind sideways compliment to a wonderfully cool chick! | |

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 1/25/2006 11:10:16 AM | | Yeah a couple of times... talk about being caught off guard... one time I could not even look her in the eyes for 2 hours... she thought it was hilarous... damn, I was just stupified... but RAWR... :p we dated for 4 months... it was great... | |

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 1/25/2006 11:19:21 AM | | I find its the opposite most times. The pic is prettier than they are. Web cam pics can be grainy and not as crisp which really helps if you are worried about your looks. Digital cameras show every nook and cranny, every imperfection. I hate them. | |

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/20/2007 11:29:42 AM | I get that quite a bit (that my pictures don't do me justice).
I think it is because photos are so one dimensional - in person, the life, the personality comes into play - something as simple as a smile can make a face look so much more attractive.

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/20/2007 11:49:52 AM | At our local meet and greet i sometimes get told that i need some new pictures .. that i look better in person...not that my pics are ugly (you can be the judge) just apparently kodak doesnt quite capture the essence of me....
I just say that i am looking for someone who doesn't want just pretty pictures...a little more substance..

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/20/2007 12:14:57 PM | | I've been told I look the same in my pics as I do in person but my smile is better live... Not sure how to take any of that, but I say thank you! | |

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/20/2007 12:18:05 PM | I find I have the opposite problem. I can't live up to my pictures! Lots of guys write me thinking I am going to be this model type with amazing abs and all, but the camera seems to love me more than my real self. My real self being more dorky than anything.lol I like taking pictures a lot, cause I like changing how I look, what I wear, and also like to show what I am out doing. People do tell me I look like my pics, and since they really like my pics, I guess that is a good sign! I was very shy when I was younger and didn't take that many pics, but I have grown into it, I take them daily now and update weekly!
As for me, yes, there were a few guys that floored me, but their pics were also amazing. I tend to be a very visual person, but also love to be surprised so it can go either way for me!

Only one man... a tall dark man with huge brown eyes.... when I saw him, I literally froze in my tracks.... he was maybe the best looking man I ever saw in real life... perfect teeth and skin. Tall (about 6 foot 4)... beautiful voice, olive skin tone, nice hands.... and was he ever built !!!!! BUT...... it was a disappointment to see below the surface. Emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, mentally.... he was like a teenager of the worse kind. Irresponsible, no integrity, dishonest and basically a user. He lives at home with his parents because he could not control his spending... he liked to party and go out to eat all the time... with money he did not have.... could not even hold a job for long. When I did a background check I found he had 2 felonys long ago when he was in his 20's and did some time... drugs and something about beating someone to near death. hmm. Seemed he was prone to have a temper, huh? Was glad his parents took care of him... kept him from doing anything desperate or using those awseome looks of his to do evil ;)
LOOKS ONLY GO SO FAR. They are only part of the package and even if he was dripping in beliguim chocolate.. I would still have had to pass.
Holy moly, other than the living with his parents and the felony counts, you just described my last boyfriend to a "T"! Do you two know each other?

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/20/2007 1:13:19 PM | *Tee*
I met one guy who was gorgeous to look at in person... [even though he really didn't rate himself that much] .. but the less he had on the better he looked still..... and he looked sooooo much better than his pics showed.
I've been lucky...the guys I've dated till now have looked better in person then in their pics!

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/20/2007 2:18:15 PM | I often get told that my pictures don't do me justice and that I am much prettier than they expected.
My guess it is because I am so pale. Cameras often don't pick up the details on me unless I'm wearing make up... and even then I still kind of fade. My hair loses all sense of depth in a photo as well because it is so baby fine. You can't see the sparkle and my soul in my eyes as well either.
But I do get told often that I look just like my pictures. No one has ever had a problem recognizing me. Mainly because I do keep them very fresh and up to date. I also make sure they are clear and easy to see and include the full body shot. The oldest picture in my profile is from last October.

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/20/2007 2:30:17 PM | | Actually, most of the guys I've met from online have told me that I look much better in person. One guy I dated looked much better in person than in pics as well. I take pretty bad pics usually, but that's ok, I'd much rather look better in person. Like Sherilyn said, it could be because I'm pale as well. Of course, it could just be a line they give me, but either way, I'm not complaining. ;) | |

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/24/2007 2:13:14 PM | I've had guys say that I look much prettier/beautiful/gorgeous than my pics...pictures are just 2-D images....we all need pics top help us choose our dates....but....nothing beats seeing the person in real life, their expressions, their mannerisms, watching their eyes sparkle when they talk to you, or smelling their their perfume or cologne :)
unfortunately I have been a victim of the opposite when it has come down to meeting the guys. Many guys post older pics of themselves and when they showed up for the date, it didnt even look like them....even had oen guy on yahoo personals who used his brother's photo instead of his own, he confessed this to me during our date because he said he didnt find himself attractive and was afraid that he wouldnt get any responses if he posted his own pic. Well needless to say, he wasnt my type and I didnt have a second date with him.
I dont really change much appearance wise...but..I always keep my pics current....

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/24/2007 3:10:56 PM | Ditto...
I'm told often that my pictures do not do me justice. Just to be certain I asked if that was a compliment. They all answer "YES!" (I am humble enough to never assume I know what a stranger means.) Great, so I'm flattered. I usually try to post at least one picture without makeup. It's the way I prefer my face to be. I never post a really great photo with me all done up to the nines. Just want to keep the mystery and the best of me for someone special. All my posted pictures are current, as in under 1 year old. I'm no Spring Rose, but at least my wrinkles and rolls are in plain sight. I earned them from God blessing me with a life lived. Thankfully he also gave me some good genes!
Unfortunately, I've found lots of men post pictures that could never be considered current. Funny, I didn't expect men to be so vain and lacking confidence. When I met these men I was so shocked to see all the grey, white or balding hair, and let's not forget the face full of deep cavernous wrinkles. Posting blurry pictures hides them! Did they really expect to hide a face and body full of deep cavernous wrinkles by the time we meet? Incredible the insecurity some people have. What's even more interesting is these men wrote that they are looking for an "honest" woman. So what are they offering in return with their lie?!
To be clear, I have no problem loving a man with grey, white or no hair. Nor do I have a problem with anyones wrinkles. I'd just like to be able to recognize you from your pictures when I meet you for the first time! Is that too much honesty to expect?
I don't believe in being dishonest in pictures or in person and that is exactly what these men and women are doing when they post very old and blurry pictures. They all must be Swamp Land Salespeople!

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/24/2007 3:19:23 PM | The men I have met from here are better looking than their photos (except one who was about 20 years older than his photo and who happened to be the first one I met months ago).
I am also told that I am better looking in person and that I am not photogenic (I take that as a compliment - lol).
Why people post old/blurry/distant/strategically cropped photos that hide the truth (be it balding/wrinkled/fat) is WAY beyond me?? Unless they plan on chatting online forever and never meeting....eventually the truth will be out in plain sight :)

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/25/2007 1:09:48 AM | | i think it's hysterical that people post old pics- well at least the stories my sis has told me are. my sister has been on several dates from this site where the men looked nothing like their pics- she was nice & said nothing about it, but i got to hear all about it later. | |

| Ever met someone PRETTIER than their pics? Posted: 7/25/2007 11:26:47 AM | | Yes I have met someone prettier than their pics. This is not usually the case, however, especially for women, who go to great lengths to look good in a pic, but who are horribly ugly in real life. | |
