I've been told I look better than my pictures... I hear that a lot, too. I also usually think that those I meet look better in person. As I and others have noted in other topics, very often, animation lends attractiveness - if you want to know what someone really looks like (or what you do!), you have to see the person in motion.

I'll never understand why some people don't put more effort into their pics.
I'm not just talking about the ones with sunglasses, a zillion miles away, blurry, etc.
I'll see someone's bad pic , for example, and a year later it's still the same !!!!
Wtf ?!!!!
I suppose it must be working for them, somehow....

So sometimes I feel nervous about meeting someone offline because I won't be what they are expecting. That's why sometimes I have a hard time with the online dating thing. The first meeting is scary.
I've had a few guys who looked a lot better than their pictures though. That's why I don't really judge the pictures anymore. I go by how we connect in the emails. | |

I guess she didn't want to get a lot of responses due to her physical appearance so she posted a photo that portrayed her as a bit overweight. When I first saw her though, that image went right out the window. I was taken aback by just how physically attractive she is. I think it's a bit deceptive to use an inaccurate photo, but, in her case, it was a nice surprise. | |
