| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 7/30/2009 4:01:23 AM | I am going to put a hypothesis forward that the ones that hate them are the ones that have had orgasms through intercourse and the ones that say they will never have sex without a condom are ones that only have an orgasm through cl*toral stimulation only, essentially meaning that intercourse is just an interlude to the final stage of orgasm: manual stimulation.
Not correct. I orgasm esily through intercourse and always insist on condom use.
Oh, and Califmark, it's ok to be a healthy sexual adult and enjoy sex if you want it as long as you practice safer sex. If that makes a person a ho, well, that's your judgment call.

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 7/30/2009 4:46:17 AM | READ THIS YOU CONDOM LOVERS.........Talk about lack of education. This is ridiculous to say that a person probably contracted HPV (Warts) from doing prostitutes. Do you have any idea how common HPV is?! You are an absolute fool if you think you haven't had sex with a woman who hasn't been exposed to this.
Approximately 20 million people are currently infected with HPV. At least 50 percent of sexually active men and women acquire genital HPV infection at some point in their lives. By age 50, at least 80 percent of women will have acquired genital HPV infection. About 6.2 million Americans get a new genital HPV infection each year.
The types of HPV that infect the genital area are spread primarily through genital contact. Most HPV infections have no signs or symptoms; therefore, most infected persons are unaware they are infected, yet they can transmit the virus to a sex partner. Rarely, a pregnant woman can pass HPV to her baby during vaginal delivery. A baby that is exposed to HPV very rarely develops warts in the throat or voice box.
Most people who have a genital HPV infection do not know they are infected. The virus lives in the skin or mucous membranes and usually causes no symptoms. Some people get visible genital warts, or have pre-cancerous changes in the cervix, vulva, anus, or penis. Very rarely, HPV infection results in anal or genital cancers
Genital warts usually appear as soft, moist, pink, or flesh-colored swellings, usually in the genital area. They can be raised or flat, single or multiple, small or large, and sometimes cauliflower shaped. They can appear on the vulva, in or around the vagina or anus, on the cervix, and on the penis, scrotum, groin, or thigh. After sexual contact with an infected person, warts may appear within weeks or months, or not at all.
Genital warts are diagnosed by visual inspection. Visible genital warts can be removed by medications the patient applies, or by treatments performed by a health care provider. Some individuals choose to forego treatment to see if the warts will disappear on their own. No treatment regimen for genital warts is better than another, and no one treatment regimen is ideal for all cases.
For those who choose to be sexually active, a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner is the strategy most likely to prevent future genital HPV infections. However, it is difficult to determine whether a partner who has been sexually active in the past is currently infected
HPV infection can occur in both male and female genital areas that are covered or protected by a latex condom, as well as in areas that are not covered. While the effect of condoms in preventing HPV infection is unknown, condom use has been associated with a lower rate of cervical cancer, an HPV-associated disease.
Information taken from CDC facts about HPV. I simply googled it. I suppose for some, ignorance truly is bliss. NOTE that the fact is, even condoms do not prevent the spread of HPV.

I just want to get this straight... are you making the argument that because condoms don't prevent HPV that it's stupid to use condoms to prevent STDs? I do believe that IS what you're saying.
Yes... there's a definite lack of education somewhere around here.

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 7/30/2009 7:44:58 AM | | There are a lot of "men" out there that make all of us look bad. It's very easy to make a joke out of the situation when you have "dodged the bullet" but there are men and women that haven't been so lucky. Thankfully, I'm not one of them, but I could have been, sad to say. I don't like condoms any more than any other guy out there, but unfortunately they have become a necessity if you want to increase your odds of safety. Stick to your standards ladies, a few hours of pleasure is not worth a lifetime of something you can't get rid of or will die from. | |

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 7/30/2009 11:29:58 AM | Like most men I don't like wearing condoms and I also don't like playing Russian roullette with my body. So, the best option for me is to get to know a dating partner, including their past, and to use condoms initially, but at some point the gloved love has to come to an end, in my opinion. -Mike | |

Actually, to educate you, only a small percentage of HPV strains cause genital warts. The infection rates that you quote apply to a wide variety of HPV strains, many of which have no symptoms and go away on their own. Most likely unless the two people involved are virgins, one or the other of you has had HPV, problably both of you and men may very well be carriers for many years without knowing they have anything. HPV is the new big scary thing but most strains are not terribly scary and you have likely already had them and didn't know it and they went away.

Posted: 7/30/2009 8:46:32 PM | | I can't speak for anyone else, but before I have sex with someone I not only present them with my medical test proving I am disease free, I ask to see theirs as well. Not only is this honoring them with honesty, it is insisting they do the same for me, not too much to ask, considering.

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 8/6/2009 9:18:07 PM | | I agree, sex is good, but not worth the risk of something bad happening... however, it's not only the man’s responsibility to have protection with them… IT’S EVERYONE’S. And no, not trying to turn this around and say it’s the woman’s fault or whatever. If you are ever planning on having sex then you should carry around protection at all times... Man or Woman. You can’t blame someone for something you are guilty of yourself, can you? | |

HPV is the new big scary thing but most strains are not terribly scary and you have likely already had them and didn't know it and they went away. Ummm it is a little scary... HPV is the cause of cervical cancers in women.... On average, about 4,0o0 women will die from cervical cancer in the United States each year.... On average, about 3,800 women will die from AIDS in the United States each year....

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 8/7/2009 7:10:00 AM | Came back to this topic and saw some answers saying condoms not being the right size. What are they the size of a mouse? Because there is no way the condom is too small. Considering back in high school in sex ed a class mate managed to fit a condom over his head, you'd have to be bigger than an elephant and carry your thing around in a cart.
Still I for one will never use a condom. Then again I'll never sleep with someone I don't trust 100% and don't plan to be with for life.
Little tip, sex is nothing more than masturbation with a partner. Making love is pure ecstasy.

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 8/7/2009 2:10:38 PM | | actually, HPV is ONE cause of cervical cancer in women. It's a big one but it's only one. Also, cervical canccer is highly treatable if caught early so get routine screening to catch it, play safer, but there is no reason to be scared out of your mind. | |

Hahaha. 0.016% chance of dying this year from cervical cancer? Yeah that's worth worrying about.
People's priorities are all kinds of screwed.
Same woman on her cell phone and putting on makeup while driving is scared to death of cervical cancer.
Like all those idiots who quit flying after 9/11/01 despite being in a terrorist attack has a teeny tiny chance and planes are still manymanymanymany times safer than driving.
But why think of logic when there's emotions to be felt!

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 8/7/2009 6:26:01 PM | | You really can't be serious. What are the condoms they're using like meant for someone as thick as a spagetti noodle? Think my friend said it best when she said, if a guys to0 big for a normal condom than women don't want to be with him because it'd hurt way too much. Then again I guess there are masochists out there. | |

| What is it with men N freaking condoms!!!!!!!!!!! Posted: 8/7/2009 9:32:12 PM | | I never carry a condom for the very reason that if forces the talk. I'm not getting into bed with anyone until we've both been tested, and talked about what it means as far as the relationship goes. No condom is my first line of protection from doing something we may not be ready for. | |

A condom is also your first line of protection when you are ready for it. Discussions are very nice, but no matter how well you think you know a person before having sex for the first time, there is absolutely no guarantee that he/she won't cheat on you further down the road and infect you.

there is absolutely no guarantee that he/she won't cheat on you further down the road and infect you. The other side of that is that I wouldn't want to risk my partner's life by cheating... Condom or no condom, you can kill yourself and your partner by cheating... all i takes is a rip or a broken condom... Herpes and HPV can infect you condom or no condom... you wouldn't want to be responsible for giving your partner HPV and have it lead to them getting cancer of the cervix... and possibly killing them... I don't think I'd ever want to be in the position of 'infecting' the person I love... even if it was a temporary thing... that's why I have a lot of trouble understanding swingers... boinking some bovine cow just to get your rocks off is not worth a lifetime disease....
