Im from TX and in my state if somthin like that woman di happens and a mob gets her before the cops do then the law doesnt eve try to persue it, and in TX we push death hard and dont let themm sit. Last year TX executed like 10000 inmates.

There was a comedian that is from TX and said that while other states are tryin to abolish the death penalty, his is puttin in an express lane. TX dont take stuff lightly nad will put you death soon after you are put on death row.

| Frontier Justice.... Posted: 12/30/2004 12:50:23 PM | I don't personally know any crooked cops, but of course there are some up here in Canada. We don't have the death penalty and I'm glad (that's another thread of course).
When I worked with cops in Toronto I found that a lot of them are somewhat hardened and some are extremely cynical. It comes from dealing with law breakers of all kinds on a frequent basis. Most try to be fair - and some go the extra mile when asked politely and when they have been given enough information. Toronto police are well trained and I found the C.R.O.'s (community relations officers) were very helpful in cases of elder abuse. The police also do a lot of public education on crime prevention etc. In T.O. they are trying to recruit more minorities for the force, and yes, there is still racial discrimination - assumptions made about behaviour based on people's skin colour. It's an ongoing struggle to educate the older cops and train the younger ones.
But, I think we need to keep the law enforcement system we have and not start trying to do their job.
