I LEAVE MY CAPS ON...........IT DOESNT MEAN SHIT
Um, dude, on the internet, it means that you're YELLING. It's OK to shout out a word or phrase to get your point across, but constantly typing in all caps is the literary equivalent of being too drunk to know you're talking too loud and that you might be about to break out in some really bad dancing.

Posted: 9/12/2008 4:29:12 AM | What i don't like are the non-sequiter impulsive tattoos that end up looking about as integrated and connected as the bathroom graffitti in a hiqhway rest stop! Each one a random thought at a random time, impulse of the moment...
What I find attractive are the integrated designs that are flowing and beautiful. Japanese tattos have some element of that.
Ever wonder why the Japanese Yakuzu deliberately leave parts of their torso blank? Just makes me feel like fingernails on the blackboard, when I see people damage their acupuncture meridians with tattoo's because the have no clue where they are putting the ink. The reason the bare spots in the front of the body and sometimes the back are there, is that these guys need all the life energy and vitality they can muster for being a gangsta, and not going to do anything that chops that down and blocks it. 99.99% of the people getting tattoos have no clue where they are putting the ink, contrasted to maori and se asian/japanese artists, who do understand what these things can call down and invoke.. and use that deliberately... Angelina Joliet's cambodian job was not a fashion statement.

You make some very good points and I completely agree with you. One of the reasons I'm spending so much time investigating a tattoo that I'm having done on my spine is that I am making sure it's the proper symbol and color for the chakra point where it will be.
Tattoos as "fashion" really bug me. If you don't know the deeper meaning and it's not part of your personal philosophy, don't have it permanently put on your body.

What's with all the ''yelling''. Did somebody crawl auth of the hole in the ground and wants the whole world to know he is finely made it.
Ok. We got it. Worms do it every day but they don't make such a fuss about their accomplishments.

Posted: 9/14/2008 4:24:41 PM | | You would think the pro-tattoo folks would use spell check or stop the run-on sentences in order to try to end the stereotype that they are trashy uneducated folks. Geez. Do the tattoo shops give a discount to high school drop outs?
|
| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 9/16/2008 9:18:18 PM | Honestly, a high school drop-out isn't going to be able to afford a tattoo of any decent quality. That being said, I am truly bothered by the opinion some people hold that people with tattoos are unintelligent trash. I have several rather large pieces, all custom drawn, one being a memorial- all of which I absolutely love and could not be happier with. I also have a BA and graduated with honors. Being smart and having tattoos are not mutually exclusive! At the end of the day, all that really matters is that I am happy with them. If you don't think they look good, no one can fault you for that and it doesn't make you closed minded. It just means that it's not your preference. There is a thing called tact, though. I happen to think they look hot and haven't really run into anyone who has said they didn't like them. Of course they could say that to be nice, but I'll take a compliment where I can get it. ;)

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 9/17/2008 5:01:49 AM | | This is pretty much an opinion question. Some guys like tattoos, others don't. That's as simple as it can get. My personal opinion: I think tattoos are unattractive, but I don't mind a little cute tattoo somewhere like a butterfly near your hip or something like that. | |
