| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 5/5/2007 8:40:03 PM | I love tattoos. I feel they are positive, inspiring, creative, and unique.
Now, I only have one and I'm not planning to get any more but I've never felt that they've taken away from anyone. I mean, even if someone gets a tattoo that doesn't have a meaning, there is always a story behind it whether it be a reminder of younger days, or a phase.
Besides, a guy with a sleeve or partial is impressive. If he has the arms to pull it off, that's just down right sexy.

Posted: 5/12/2007 4:28:18 AM | I believe by these people that get so hostile because you state what you believe by being antitattoo... that ,those people themselves might be sorry they got them. Sort of buyers remorse. If they do not care what you think , why do the supposed pro tattoos people get so venomous about it ???? HMMM . I believe tattoos on women are disgusting and very masculine. That is my opinion and I know most men do not like tattoos on women. I am a guy and would never do that to my body as well. That said if people want to ink up their body and call it art , than that is their right. Just as it is my right to express my opinion.

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 5/12/2007 5:33:40 AM | I agree with you. Tattoos are disgusting imo, and a sign of insecurity. Some of them are the result of a drunken escapade that is truly regrettable. Some people think they're sexy. Like vanity license plates, they're a cry for attention. Most women who get them are into any latest fad that is popular. Piercings, tats, ballroom dancing, line dancing, online dating, the latest style of clothing or music or just about anything. It's a sign of the times I guess. Sorry, but the only thing that a tattoo expresses is that the woman is clueless, superficial (skin deep) and an attention whore.
It's a shame that the timeless classics get buried under a pile of rubbish.

I'm very insecure and very very shy. I figure if I got tattoos people would talk to me and maybe I'd have sex eventually. I was sadly mistaken! Who wants a 40 yr old virgin?
Some of them are the result of a drunken escapade that is truly regrettable.
I made sure I drank a bottle of Southern Comfort before the ink hit the skin. Did you know Janis Joplin drank that? I want to be just like her, she didn't seem very insecure even though she wasn't very attractive. She had tattoos too!
Some people think they're sexy
I heard that people with tattoos will have sex with anyone. Does that mean they are sexy? I think so!
Like vanity license plates, they're a cry for attention.
PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEE!! GODDAMMMIT!LOOK AT MEEEE!
Most women who get them are into any latest fad that is popular.
I like UGG boots, 80s style clothes, asymmetrical haircuts, oh and I LOVE boys who wear girl jeans with floppy bangs! how dreamy! When I got my first tattoo 20 years ago I was a trend whore then too! Some things never change. tsk tsk.
Piercings, tats, ballroom dancing, line dancing, online dating, the latest style of clothing or music or just about anything. It's a sign of the times I guess.
I figure I have to keep up with the times otherwise I might turn into one of those crabby middle aged women that complains about everything. I can't do that, I HAVE TO FIT IN! I must be a sheep like the rest of the scenesters! I don't care if I am old and don't wear clogs and neutral colors! I don't know what I would do without the internet, this new fangled stuff really makes shopping easier! Maybe I should take SALSA lessons!!
Sorry, but the only thing that a tattoo expresses is that the woman is clueless, superficial (skin deep) and an attention whore.
ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME?? GOOD!

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 5/12/2007 2:01:36 PM | It's a Personal decision and I have no opinion on that choice. But, I prefer to view no tattoos. The female body is an exquisite creation, by putting a tattoo on it, it detracts from that God given beauty and causes the eye to zero in on the inked mark . Besides in this day and age getting a tattoo is far from rebellious or being brave. I tell my kids that it takes courage and bravery to not get one. Any yahoo with $100 can get a tat. It takes courage to buck the trend and defy the encouragement of peers to forgo getting a lifelong alteration to your body. A couple of notes. If the art work is so great, why not get the painting and hang it on the wall for all to see instead of 90% of the time covered by clothes. I worked in an old peoples hospital not too long ago and I routinely asked those retired folks who had tattoos if they are happy with the results. Everyone to a man stated they wished they had never got them and everyone of their tattoos were blurry in appearance from time. And lastly if you do get a tattoo, do not get it with red ink, it can not be removed by laser. | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 5/12/2007 2:02:46 PM | I have 3 tatts....I like them....2 are very small..and yes I was just a tad drunk when I got the first 2...maybe 25 yrs ago....but my last one is a year old....lower back.....can you say..."tramp stamp"??.......lol | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 5/12/2007 2:39:58 PM | I think it's totally up to the person getting the tattoo...Who cares what others think?? If the guy in question is worth your time he will accept anything you have on your body. If he's not...then back to the first sentence..>WHO CARES WHAT HE THINKS?? Tattoo's are a personal thing. It should be done for something the person supporting it on thier skin believes in or knows it to have some kind of meaning. Outside influence should not matter. Personally, I tihnk some are very sexy while others are a bit to much for my liking. IF she was someone special to me I'd accept it for what it is. Something meaningful to her.
Just my thoughts on the topic.

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/16/2007 5:43:15 PM | | Personally, I think a tattoo on a woman, depending where it was and what it was, can be very sexy. I have seen many of them on women, being a massage therapist, and for the most part they look hot, but once again, just my opinion!! It's just another form of art....I have a few myself, representing my martial arts and have had them for 40 years...lol. A matter of personal preference. | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/17/2007 7:02:19 AM | | Tattoos sometimes label a person. Some of my friends have them but "cute ones' angels, butterflies, etc. Feminine things such as ladybugs, 4 leaf clovers, etc. I think they did it because they find it sexy and their men also liked it. I have a tattoo but it is in a place where if I am at work noone can really see it. I believe I am feminine. But tattoos are accepted by some and others find it not so acceptable. I don't mind tattoos - there is a history behind them - I always want to know why they chose that certain thing on their bodies. Yeh - when you put ink and use a needle under your skin - there will be some pain. | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/17/2007 10:53:52 AM | | I would say no. Depends maybe small ones on their should, lower back or ankle are okay but huge arm sleeves and legs. Thats a bit too much. Just my opinion though. Plus a lot of them regret it later. | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/17/2007 11:02:32 AM | seems to me like she would be sort of trendy..not independent-minded (sterotype I know)
but it is hardly 'daring' or 'original' now that 55-year old grannies are getting tattooed..

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/17/2007 11:09:33 AM | | Who are we to dictate what another does with their body? Yes, there is personal preference in regards to tattoo's, it's real simple. If you don't like them (on a man or a woman), don't date them. Don't launch into a diatribe of assumptions as to WHY they got them. Unless you know them, you won't know the reasons anyway and even then you will NEVER know all of reasons why. Don't sit in judgment on those that do have them. | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/18/2007 7:19:26 AM | | lbmale you are correct but the thread is asking ones opinion on it and the antitattoo people such as myself are giving it . Ultimately it is their body and they can do what they want , just like people that gain alot of weight and do not watch what they eat , it is their business. I find tattoos masculine on women and I am just answering the thread title . If I just said no that would be boring lol . | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/18/2007 5:35:33 PM | | I know this is old fashioned and maybe a double-standard, but tattoos on women are just plain ugly. It's like messing with perfection. But that's just me. | |
|
| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/18/2007 5:43:29 PM | | It depends on the tattoo, some are damned sexy, some are damned trashy looking. The mono colored ones can be a big turnoff but the multicolored ones are great especially on the right skin tone. | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/20/2007 4:45:15 PM | I personally have one that covers my upper shoulder and is a tribute to my grandmother. i was very close to her and it is always covered up and my boy likes it. It all depends on the person who has the tattoo. Mine is gray and black and it blends into my skin. Some people don't look good with tattoos and some enhance the beauty of their features. If you want one get one. Don't give a thought to as what others will say. If they don't like it thats their problem. Not yours. Just make sure its something you can live with for the rest of your life. Go in with no regrets. | |

I am almost afraid to hear your "opinion" on the homeless and mentally disabled.

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/22/2007 6:55:56 AM | | Tattoos are masucline on women OMG...If anyone ever looks at my tattoos, they are far from masculine, many find them intriguing and down right sexy. Hey each to their own but no need to bash others for the preferences. Like I have stated b4 us tattooed folks don't judge or ridicule non-tattooed folks. Always such a stereotype. People need to grow up and take their head out of their asses! Such shallow people, don't judge a book by it's cover! | |

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/22/2007 7:01:12 AM | What centry is this guy living in?? The Dark Ages?? As if women don't experience pain, especialy childbirth!!
Besides.... Getting a tattoo ISN'T painful... It's more of an irritation; like sandpaper on your skin.

| q for the guys--Tattoos on women--yes or no? Posted: 6/22/2007 7:10:28 AM | | I think that it all depends on the person and what they are of. I have quite a few myself including my forearm and part of my chest. They all have meaning to me and it wasnt a quick decision or impulse buy. Almost every man or women that have seen them think they are beautiful. What does everyone think about body peircings? LOL | |

Posted: 6/22/2007 7:42:51 AM | | I have to agree with FS. if a woman can give bith to a child then the tatoo is a peice of cake...I have one on my right ankle and love it..got it for my 36th birthday...my thought is if you don't like it don't look..have several guys that have told me they like my tatoo ...it was designed by my youngest son..a dolphin jumping through a gold ring..what makes it special is there are some marks that make it all mine, cannot be coppied with out my consent..
