| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 2:44:16 AM | I have found the same thing going on in all the dating sites...about 1/4 of the pics are obviously models, occasionally I find 2 separate ads from far removed areas that have the same pics posted. I wouldnt give those sites a penny, now or in the future...besides, POF is the best going! If you need to know more about a site, try this; fill out a profile, go back to that site every day for 4-5 days, then stay away for a few days and you will for sure get an 'eye-contact', 'wink' or etc. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCUMBAGS AND DESERVE WHAT THEY GET nuff for now, im goin' fishin! | |

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 3:14:09 AM | | somebody: So people don't have a right to complain or do something about having money stolen from them? I guess if your house was robbed, you wouldn't call the police because that would make you a whiner, right? I don't think the moderators started this thread so people like you could bash everyone with a legitimate complaint by using childish insults. Don't post if you aren't going to contribute anything. | |

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 4:16:40 AM | | All reporting is biased. No matter how impartial a reporter or journalist is supposed to be some of his/her personal bias slips through. Some TV stations like Fox or NHK(Japanese TV) pull no bones about their bias and are forthright about their personal slant on the day's events. Other stations are more inclined to sneak things in and pretend they don't have a bias. Fark and Slashdot are usually good for light fluff, inane comments and sometimes-actually quite seldom, rare insight. | |

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 4:17:41 AM | you know.. I think its true.. I have signed up for the free match personals.. and each time within 20 mins of signing up I would get an email... that I couldn't reply to unless I paid for the scrip..
one time I signed up with the 3 weeks free they offered.. and during the time I was signed up.. not one hit.. so I closed the account.. back the the free basic service.. and low and behold once again.. got hits, winks and emails as soon as I was no longer a member.. Thats when I decided to make my profile unveiwable and I still get emails saying this Match member is interested in you..
so I do believe its a scam!! they should get sued..

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 5:58:41 AM | I was on 6 months ago for one month. Then I cancelled. I just opened my Visa bill to find that they stopped charging me at first and have now started charging me again! I am sure this will not be an easy fix, but I will perservere. | |

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 6:25:46 AM | | Another site to watch out for is HornyMatches.com. People are actually coping profiles from other sites and posting them there. A few have had just a few of the letters changed around or numbers added. A few friends and I have found ours on there.. | |

I always thought that it was wrong to make 2 people pay to match. Think about it... What if you would have matched with a person that only had a free subscription (which is totally usless anyway), but you couldn't find out because the "free" member cannot reply to any of your messages.
I like it, it evens the playing field. You know that the people who pay are at least somewhat serious, and aren't in a relationship but just there to see if something better comes along.

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 7:12:46 AM | I would also be very weary of True.com. I had subscibed to them before because of all the winks i was getting. Once subscibed the daily winks stopped untill i canceled my membership. Guess what, I get 5-10 winks a day now. I always wondered how all these winks were happing but no one was looking at the profile. | |

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 7:30:25 AM | This doesn't surprise me. I never tried to pay for match or yahoo, especially match because it seemed very expensive (like $35/month).
I had a recent experience with this sort of thing on another site. Some woman contacted me out of the blue on myspace and asked me to email her. When I emailed her I got a response that said she wanted me to join one of those fly-by-night dating sites that seems somewhere between a swingers site and a prostitution ring. A few months later I get another message like that on myspace from another woman with a hotmail address.

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 7:37:36 AM | | I have contacted several dating sites in regards to the proliferance of bogus and geographically misrepresented personal ads on thier sites, including the ones in question in the suit, after being contacted by these scammer idiots, and have never recieved a reply what so ever, nor have the ads been taken off the sites....yahoo email is a big enabler and shelterer of these dating site scammers.....and it could easily could be remedied by a strict enforcement of identity verification, which of course, they refuse to do...LOL....anyone on these sites who contacts you providing a yahoo email address should be viewed with a high degree of skepticism............ | |

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 7:43:16 AM | | I agree with this! There is also a site called Heart Detectives that I browesed once on and they started to send me e-mails stating that there was these gorgeous women trying to desperately contact me they said they loved what they read in my profile only I never posted a profile! and the only way to read their e-mail or contact them is to subscribe you may want to look into this one to thank you Ryanrr | |

That's exactly what happened to me!!! The winks I got before I subscribed, those women would not respond to my emails once I was a member. Got virtually no winks while subscribed. Then a ton again once I cancelled.

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 7:52:59 AM | | yup, no doubt about it!! i experienced some of these issues and cancelled and never re-joined. yahoo and match both did these things. i don't think i ever received a legitimate email from anyone on either one of those services, that is, until my membership was about to run out. | |

| Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud Posted: 11/21/2005 8:02:05 AM | | I've just had it happen to me over at webdates.com, a girl emails me and says the best way to contact her is by joining seaoflove.com.... So I reported her as spam and ended my membership.. But I read the "job oppertunities" on a site and it said, "can you convice poeple to follow you? If so we may be able to use you.".. | |
