| Hell : Does anyone actually think they are going there?
Posted: 12/3/2005 2:37:53 PM | I can easily believe that there are "hellish" planes of existence in the universe and that if we conduct ourselves in a hellish manner no doubt we will end up in one of them -- for a time at least. I have a lot of trouble believing that God consigns people there and roasts them for all eternity with no hope of escape. According to the Apostles Creed, Jesus Himself descended to Hell and preached to the souls imprisoned there. What was the point if they had no chance of ever getting out?
Someone said when you go to "hell", it will be populated by people just like yourself. Think about it: imagine Hitler, Stalin and Saddam Hussein all locked up together, all wanting to be absolute dictator! That would certainly be a hell for them. Then again, maybe they'd have a great time comparing notes while they roasted together!  | |

Posted: 12/3/2005 2:57:03 PM | | i had a 'near death' experience myself. the fact that i went somewhere good for approx. 3 minutes does not mean(to me) that i went to ' heaven ' i would question if the people that went to a BAD place claim that the 'devil ' told them they were in ' hell ' ??? i have read many books, have yet to hear that claim. | |

i truly believe the light you see isnt at the end of the tunnel ..
thats the switch to turn you off .
its like a blast of light and poof no more you(of course this is what i believe).
but as i said i keep and open mind if i,m wrong and end up at a set of gates .
with the word heaven nailed above it .
i,ll be like "oops my bad"
but i doubt that will happen.
enjoy your time on earth after that poof .

Posted: 6/2/2007 8:33:49 PM | Heaven and Hell are actually really well thought up fairy tales that intrigue and entertain people so much so that they feel that they have to post threads about them.
Religion (ie cults) created God, Satan, Heaven, Hell, Morality, Immorality all for the sole purpose of A) feeding there own puppet master ego & B) to give the "lost soul" an exhile away from his/her own tormented (or rather guilty) conscience. It's a really cool story, wish i would have wrote it and made a grand profit as so many have, but It's nothing more than that.
and btw, Satan was actually the most misunderstood character of this play...he saw that God had created human life and equipped them with so many powerful urges and feelings and then told them...NO! You must resist the horrible temptations that await you, you must live for me and bleed of my spirit! God was such a egomaniac that he could do this and, much like Jim Jones and his Jonestown Kool aid gang , they fell for it hook, line and sinker...ohhhh the desperate and distraught are such easy targets...Satan actually just had the balls to stand up to God The egomaniac! What a wonderful Play....ENCORE!!! It's a great story, too bad it does not really exist, eh? | |

Doesnt matter if you believe, which I do , or not. Some people, God does not hear. Says so in the Bible.
Only his elect, the ones he chose before we were concieved are going to heaven.
After, David arranged Uriahs murder, the Bible tells us that God was angry at David. Right there, we are told all we need to know. God doesnt know what is happening when it happens. He didnt give a care about Uriah, but had compassion for David, the murdering , fornicator creep that he was.
He broke the warriors code, sent a loyal trusted, soldier serving him, to his death. What a betrayal! Yet what did God do? Did he punish David? No, he punished his illegitimate child, by causing the poor little guy to die. Gods punishment to David, consisted of " blessing" his " comforting" of Uriahs wife and letting them create a child.After David had a " feast", before the poor little kid was cold yet.
Some freaking punshment eh? But then, David was a member of his elect. So, wink, wink, hey buddy, have a good one on me eh.
God has his favourites, Jesus died for a select few, the ones who he hears. Thats just a fact of life.
Man. we have God or Satan to choose from, what a horrible existance since God throws us at Satan, has no time for the ' unchosen".
I am going to hell, it is a lot better than being part of his elect, I want nothing to do with David, dont want to share the same air as the creep. Would rather be in Hell with Uriah any day, he is a soldier. | |

I believe *****IMO***** hell is a real place it is fire that will never go out all those damned to hell are those who choose to not follow the Lord and His way all who are sinfull in there ways and those who do not repent of there sins will go to hell......********IMO********
**IMO** this is why the entire concept of christian love is full of crap. I wouldn't condemn hitler to EVER lasting hellfire, and I'm certainly a lot less forgiving than most people, never mind god.
As to the original post? As much as I dont' believe in hell, for sure some people believe they're going to hell. Wasn't it the Calvanists who were firmly convinced that only a very few of their number would actually reach heaven? talk about a sad and dreary existance, spending your entire life hoping for the slim chance that some "loving god" wasn't going to cook you in the fires of auschwitz. | |

If you beleive you're going to hell...you will create your own hell upon "crossing over"..if you beleive in all t hat's good....you will be surrounded with all thats good...hell or heaven are human creations and our thoughts are more powerful than any of us realize
