Like Cigaro said she envy's that guy for having the guts to do that. It's true, and I wonder if some people point out things like that because they're not happy with themselves. It makes them feel better to point out what they see as negative.
Like I've said before, everybody's different, we all like different things........I'm moving on now because I'm just going to get pissed off and it's not worth my time! | |

You are judging someone based on their looks alone which is unfair. Who are you to say what is "beautiful" and what isn't? We all have our own beliefs and preferences. Tattoos and piercings are very personal things. I like them, but I don't think having them makes a person "uglier".

Posted: 12/1/2005 2:15:51 PM | i don't like his hair, make up or the fact that his willie is hanging out...if those things were different - more to my taste, perhaps dreads and baggie skater pants and no make up, then yes i would date him and my mother and father would care less. they aren't narrow minded. my mother has a picture from the vancouver sun of her being strangled by her bf on the luv-affair dance floor in the late seventies, as a punk. don't make such snappy judgements...not everyone lives life in a box as you do...

I'm not.
It is easy to spoil your own skin. It is easy to drink alcohol, smoke drugs etc.
But it is very not easy to study ... let's say mechanics. It is not easy to go to the gym. It is not easy to make good money.
So i envy to people who can be victorious over own laziness and can do what another people cannot. EVERYBODY can make tattoos and look like a parrot. It is EASY.

Posted: 12/1/2005 10:31:02 PM | well, one of my tattoos is in memory of my brother who passed away...we were very close and i wanted to do something in memory of him...my other tattoo is from my heritage...i'm asian and i put my asian sign and my kids' asian sign...my sign is kind of surrounding theirs to symbolize protection...both are in a spot that i can see them (the lower back is not a very visible spot nor is the shoulder) so that i can remeber what's most important in my life...my family and my kids

I have several tattoos, my ears pierced more then once and my nose pierced..
I have never done drugs, I don't smoke, I don't drink. I own my own house a two family house to be exact.. I work as an office manager during the day in a social service organization. on the side I own my own business where I teach meditation. I am a single mother and sole care giver of my 10 year old.. I also am the sole caregiver of my two (2) elderly parents who live with me.
I'm no "parrot", I'm not lazy..heck I don't have time to be lazy.. and as you can see i'm not down trodden and poor and definately not uneducated..
so.. don't assume everyone who has tattoos is like you think.. | |

You're wrong.
I'm a network engineer. I'll put my salary up against anyone's on this forum, and for probably 80 to 90 percent of folks, especially in my age bracket, I'll come out on top. I go to the gym regularly. I've mountained biked, bungee jumped and rock climbed.
I've also studied at St. Anne's College at Oxford University. I normally don't even talk about most of this, but if you're implying that people who get tattoos and piercings are simply lazy and following the crowd, then you're just plain wrong.
My main piece of ink right now is an Iroquois Mohawk ceremonial half-shirt. It took a total of 18 hours to complete, spread across three sessions. I doubt most people, yourself included, could have endured that sort of pain.
Some people follow the fad, and get a little butterfly or a neotribal armband. Some people follow another crowd, because the majority of the population does NOT have tattoos. You can be a parrot either way.
But your caricature of folks who get tattoos is uninformed. It's not easy. In fact, it's one of the more difficult things I've ever done. | |

I make decent pay at my current job and I'm set to begin basic training in July for a job that will pay more than many people make in a year... with university behind me... and I'm halfway done recording my debut cd...

We dont have to like every one, or be the same, thats what makes the world go around, be different, do what you feel is ok for you, someone someplace will take you for you, not what you are sppose to be.
Hell! look inside the person not the cover! you can be in a 3 piece suite and be the bigest crook on earth, I dont know realy just enjoy what you like and why worry what others think.
