Spandex is not totally gone. Most jeans/pants women buy today have 5 - 10 percent spandex in the fabric mix. I think it also part of leggings. Interesting question.

Your wish has been partially granted ~~

On Saturday, July 4th, Vanilla Ice performed at his second concert with MC Hammer. This concert took place at an outdoor club at the MGM Grand called Wet Republic. This sold-out show was not only attended by several thousand enthusiastic fans, but was also attended by several celebrities.

Lebron James, Rhianna, and Jay-Z were all in attendance for the concert which was electrifying!

You should see me in spandex!
Actually I've never worn it; however, while girl watching, many's the time that I have thanked the good Lord for spandex.

"Should they bring back Spandex?"

Sure, why not, for some, it gives them that slim, and shapely look.

Plus, they also, give the bod, and nice feeling as well.

Got a couple of mens atheletic T-shirts from Wal-Mart, made of 80% nylon, and 20%spnadex, with a bit of a compression to them, they look and feel good on.

And for 10 bucks, sure couldn't go wrong.

Infact, the price was sooooo good, went back, and got a couple more.

Did Spandex leave?

I thought there was some Spandex in most exercise wear....denim ...waistbands mostly....and in some pantyhose and lingerie I am sure.

I don't want to see the return of the Zanadu roller-skating neon spandex wear...that was just plain scary....eeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!! just had a flashback image of Rod Stewart in spandex strutting about.....yuck.

how many people are actually doing yoga in this city btw?... I mean I see those Lululemon bags everywhere...and gals all about town wearing their yoga pants....sheeeeeeeesh if you need support get some Spanx or a girdle.
Yoga wear is not for wearing about town all the time.

Pray tell, what was wrong with Zanadu roller chicks?
That look is still in all my good books!
Personally, I am no slave to fashion; although, I always thought Zanadu roller-chicks were a God send.
Again, "I thank the good Lord for spandex!"

Good to see your back WWR! So sad, your not even reading my messages though.

Did Spandex leave?

My thoughts exactly, WWR.
I know runners, speed skaters and cross country skiers sill wear it.

But I don't think it EVER should have been made in xl sizes. I throw up a bit in my mouth whenever I see a fat woman in Spandex.

^^^Naaa! it will never ever go away!
I thank God every day for the person who thought of mixing it with denim. Jeans fit so much better now, and are sooo much more comfortable. So forgiving!
I can hardly wait to see where else they will put it in.

Oh OH! I know! In the minds of the people in the forums! Flexible minds...so forgiving! MMM-mmm!!

Hey... us Fatchicks need luv you know!....and we do need our Spandex.

just in moderation an invisible....as undergarments.....not as leggings....yoga pants...stretch tights of any shape or form or colour.

basically if you need to lay down on the bed and have the kids pull the yoga tights up and you squeezed into it....IT'S PLAIN WRONG!!!!.... yuck... the thought.....I just vomitted into my mouth too!

if you look like a giant Haggis.... that too is WRONG!!!

Spandex invaluable as part of undergarments. YES.

Chickenman..good to see you survived the fires and not grilled....not rec'd any messages from you my dear.

btw.. Lululemon I am sure has some man made elastics such as Spandex or some other 'Dex' in the fabrics.

Lulu's yoga pants are not tight, at least mine aren't, and in fact look better on a lot people than jeans do. They are far more comfortable than pretty much anything else out there, and dress up or dress down just as well as jeans do. Just don't wear the granny panties with them.. they do not forgive pantylines. lol

I am not big on Lulu Lemon's clothing because it is seriously overpriced. I own some. I agree it definitely does not have to be tight. I also think that as soon as you put a piece of Lulu lemon clothing on, you are branded, working for Lulu by displaying their logo. They always place their logo in a place where you cannot hide it.

There are some things worth paying more for but I just cannot see it with Lulu clothing.

Lulu Lemon is definitely overpriced. Bought some yoga pants & matching top for a friend's 23 yr old daughter ... cost $250 & that's for a teeny little size 4 ... looked like it would fit a 3 year old.

Spandex has never left my closet & I love spandex mixed with other fabrics. I have skirts, jackets, tops, socks, yoga pants, jeans, sports bras, shorts & leggings that have spandex in them.

God forbid, if they ever stopped making undies & body shapers with spandex in them, we would be forced to suck in our guts ourselves.

Speaking of which, why don't they make men's undies with spandex in them to help hold in their bellies?

"Speaking of which, why don't they make men's undies with spandex in them to help hold in their bellies?"

Well, FunnyAndSweet48, if men, would cool it with drinking so much
that has soooooooooo many calories in them, then the men wouldn't have to worry about having a beer belly gut, and wouldn't have to wear spandex undies.

And no, I don't have a big huge beer belly gut either, like SOME, men DO, of my age.

Like good lord, I wonder how many months pregnant, and how long they have to go, before they give birth, with the size of gut, that SOME of them have.
