| Commonwealth and the Queen, good thing or bad thing?

All of the various Monarchy's were all relatives. They still are today. Heck the House of Windsor is practically a franchise.
WWI was the result of a family feud. And hundreds of millions of people paid the price.
What is wrong with this picture. A bullshit issue causes millions to be needlessly sacrificed.
Then look what happened when the war was over. Germany was screwed over and in 1918 there were some people saying the armistice would only lead to another major war in 20 years. They were laughed at but nobody was laughing 20 years later. | |

Posted: 11/21/2005 3:58:14 PM | While the CONCEPT is based on centuries old 'traditions', I think, (my opinion only) That it should be trimmed WAY back, as , really, there is SO much money being spent on basically supporting those of heritage. Talk about a 'welfare state'. 
Having said that though, were it not for Britain's role in the World wars 1 & 2, France would still be enslaved to old Germany.
Methinks a few seperatist Quebecers and 'Acadians' should pause to remember that fact when they look in disgust upon the British flag. | |
