No offense to the OP, but there are probably better ways of getting things done.

You are NOT getting my point and your math is way off..
Another example. 45,ooo men and 15,000 women are within a certain radius of a city or town. 3 to 1 ratio. 22,500 men (not 10000) are looking for IE. After the IE profiles are removed the ratio is about 1.5 to 1. 5,000 other men and 5,000 women are here for other non-dating reasons. Now the ratio is 1.75 to 1 and not 3 to 1.
According to this example, half the men directly state they are looking for IE. Another 5,000 are here for other non-dating reasons. That would mean over 60% of the men in a certain area aren't looking to date. IMO that is too high of a percentage. In my example about 33% of men aren't looking to date.
1240 * .4 = 774 this assumes only 20 percent of men who put down dating, long term, etc are lying and really looking for IE
774 / 494 = 1.5 ....
That assumes 40% of men who put down dating, long term, etc are lying and really looking for IE
1240 * .2 = 992
494 women (30-35) .... all relationships ... 9 of the look for IE
992 / 494 = 2.0 .....
If you assume 20% of men who put down dating, long term, etc are lying and really looking for IE, the ratio is 2 to 1.
Including the IE profiles the ratio is 3 to 1. After the IE profiles are removed the ratio is still 2.5 to 1. For the ratio to become 2 to 1 or 1.5 to 1 you are assuming that 20% or 40% ( respectively ) of men that don't put down IE are lying and really are looking for a IE. My basic point is that you would have to assume a few things to be true for the ratio to be 1.5 to 1. I do this knowing I am running the risk that I will offend the other party. I am polite, and courteous, and if they are rude back to me - I just shrug it off - it just proves that I was right in the first place | |

I don't get alot of emails and I don't get that many responses to my initiated contact. So it is not just a walk in the park for women, as several of us have tried to point out. | |

I understand what you are saying, let me say that the majority of emails have been for men who seem to be wanting intimate encounters which is their choice, but definately not mine.
I totally understand what everyone is saying, I guess what I was trying to point out is that not all women on here are getting bombarded. I don't think that people should give up as I have made a fantastic male friend, and I believe when it is my time it will happen. | |

You are still not getting it.
One of the regular women poster stated that 90 % of the email she receives are men looking for Sex.
Some of her mail restrictions are:
Must not have messaged users looking for intimate encounters or sex.
Must not be looking for Intimate Encounter
This prevents any man who selected "Intimate Encounters" as the relationship type is look for to email her.
That means 90 percent of the men emailing her are LYING about the relationship type they seek. One reason they lie is to get around the mail restrictions many women put to try and stop men from contacting them who are only interested in Sex..
They do NOT even bother looking at her profile which states "SHE IS NOT LOOK FOR ANYONE TO DATE NOW".
They see photos of a good looking women and just email. | |

She could be lying or exaggerating about that number. Even if it is true, that doesn't mean 90% ( or anything close to 90% ) of men here are only looking for sex, just the ones who contacted her. There could be plenty of men that are looking for a date, read profile and not contacted her because they aren't what she is looking for or vice versa, age difference, distance, smoking and/or drinking habits, she has kids etc. Let's agree to disagree on this. | |

i checked Nebraska for people (40-50) and the result are:
there are 481 men with 107 selecting "IE"
there are 318 women with 4 selecting "IE"
there are 377 men and 314 women if you remove people who select Inimate encounters.
That is a ratio of 1.2 men to 1 women ..
The rate is 1.5 men to 1 women if you do NOT remove people who select intimate encounters
IT IS NOT 6.5 .. | |

Sometime really good looking women do NOT post photos...
Otherwise they would get tons of shallow men who judge a women only by looks and do not even bother to read their profile.
I did have a "Coffee date" with women who did not post a photo. She was nice looking and 11 years younger than me..
She had 2 tests for men...
FIrst email .....man ask for her photo ... she deletes email
First email ... men give their cel number ... she deletes the email ...
Most men failed her tests.
Some men do NOT post photos because they are married or have girlfriends.

Let's face it, it doesn't matter how tall, short, fat, thin, etc., it's just not easy for any of us to find and keep the interest of that ONE person who may be the perfect fit. Get over it and stop whining about how bad men have it. I can assure you ~ it stinks for us all.

Get out of forums, start browsing profiles, venture into the real world, meet someone, date and smile once in a while. It is not easy for either gender....
I see so many men on forums say there are like 5 men to women ... and that is why i have no luck
Well the ratio depending on locations ranges from 1.5 to 3 for the areas i checked.
Some women believe also there are more that 5 times more men than women ... and are too picky about replying to email .
Got no luck with email... then go to a POF party if they have one in your area. | |
