The misconception being, that people naturally think that introverted people are shy and perhaps withdrawn.
Agreed.
I had a woman tell me i was enfp.....
In social settings, sometimes i can be.....
But everytime i take the test.... i am a infp........and i can see that.
Introverted mostly means.... in how you'll work out things....

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 12/22/2006 12:23:22 AM | | Introversion, in the MB sense, does not mean shyness. However, it does mean you like your alone time. | |

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 12/22/2006 10:45:20 AM | Well I went on line and found the Myers-Briggs test page. I was thinking ..as I did it.. that I should do it several times a day to see if my mood- changes affected the outcome.... but it was just a thought and I never followed through.. ( now filed under things to do when I have zip else going on!) Results appear to show I certainly like LOTS of alone time
INTJ
Introverted 28% Intuitive 19% Thinking 19% Judging 1%
It does seem tome that these percentages should add up to 100... So I wonder where the other 33 % gets sloted? ? ? ?

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 12/22/2006 11:09:23 AM | Introverts, to one degree or another, do not have the same requirements for human contact that extroverts do. In bygone times, introverts settled the frontiers; they built homes that were dozens (even hundreds) of miles from the next nearest human. Introverts manned the lighthouses in the early days of maritime travel, saving untold numbers of lives from watery graves. Introverts have left their mark on human history. | |

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 12/27/2006 10:45:49 AM | | I've done the long version of some of these tests before so I did a short version and found that yeah, pretty much everything I know I have to work on is true. | |

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 4/8/2007 1:35:33 PM | | The "on-line" version says I'm an INTJ. Other personality tests say I'm sumthin' else! ....as in INFJ and at least one other type; I quit 'typing' after that. | |
|
| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 4/8/2007 2:52:11 PM | I've taken numerous online tests and they always come out the same.
I'm a Mastermind (INTJ) which shows up in less than 1% of the population.
Most of the descriptions of INTJ that i've read have been dead on for me too. This is the one i like the best: http://www.trendal.org/myersbriggs/intj.htm

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 4/9/2007 8:37:36 AM | Interesting I did the test again from link on msg 3 and this time I'm ESFP but from the results, it's easy to tell why: S/N are 50/50 and F/T are very close.... guess I'll always be EP though!
Extroverted (E) 70.59% Introverted (I) 29.41% Sensing (S) 50% Intuitive (N) 50% Feeling (F) 52.94% Thinking (T) 47.06% Perceiving (P) 75% Judging (J) 25%

INFP - same as many years ago, it hasn't changed. But I'm pretty evenly spaced between I and E. Quite often I get my energy from interacting with people but I definitely need my alone time to re-charge.
The book "Please Understand Me" by David Kiersey explains these types and is easy to read.

I guess it's fairly accurate.

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 4/9/2007 5:33:26 PM | INTJ I didn't even look at the percentages. Who cares?
http://typelogic.com/intj.html
I was having fun reading about an INTJ personality until this:
Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ's Achilles heel.
Well, f*ck you very much!
And then this part made me want to bite the webpage if I could:
Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense. :-) This sometimes results in a peculiar naivete', paralleling that of many Fs -- only instead of expecting inexhaustible affection and empathy from a romantic relationship, the INTJ will expect inexhaustible reasonability and directness.
Pretty much. But I'm getting better, dammit!

I'm a Mastermind (INTJ) which shows up in less than 1% of the population.
Interesting... I'm an INTJ also (got the professional assessment) and we make up only 1%?? Is that why I've always felt like such a freak my whole life? Realizing I might be the only one of my kind in every school I've attended since what are the chances there'd be another INTJ in the same school?
Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense. :-) This sometimes results in a peculiar naivete', paralleling that of many Fs -- only instead of expecting inexhaustible affection and empathy from a romantic relationship, the INTJ will expect inexhaustible reasonability and directness.
*freaking copy/paste feature--how do you quote more than one source?*
Anyhoo, I thought this interesting as well... guess I'm up the creek eh? I always find myself frustrated when not being able to "figure people out"... but then I'm always wanting to define people in nice, neat, little boxes (typecasting, stereotyping, whatever) and I've yet to realize no one is that simple--especially me!

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 4/13/2007 9:26:11 PM | | There is a link to this test on the POF homepage now and once you take it people can find you by your results. I am INFJ | |

| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 4/13/2007 11:52:11 PM | I did the new thing for your personality type. So far, I only have one match within a 200 mile radius...and I read his profile...ummmm...not!
Does this mean I'm unique...or hard to please...or, please forgive me ..."gotta match?...not in this town, baby!"
oh...I'm supposed to be an "ENTP"
|
| Myers-Briggs: What type are you? Posted: 4/14/2007 1:21:33 AM | | The feature is pretty new and I think it will just take more time for other people to do the quiz and show up in the personality search for you. | |

ISFP - "Artist". Interested in the fine arts. Expression primarily through action or art form. The senses are keener than in other types. 8.8% of total population.
I already knew that introverted part...that was a given, lol
