Posted: 4/2/2005 12:45:56 AM | as a singel father of three litil girs i have found that it is more dificult to attract a women then a women to get a man for i feal like women has what men wont and wither or not you have kids men still wont it so as a singel dad dingel wemen just dont wont to have anithing to do with me to much bagage for them | |

Posted: 4/5/2005 10:28:56 AM | I am a single dad with two kids, teenagers to boot. I have been a single parent for 8 yrs and have never met a woman yet that was turn off by me having kids. For the most part it works in my favor in the dating scene. Family being important is an attractive value for most people.

Me personally I find it sexy that a guy will admit he's a single parent. To me it shows that he is mature, caring and very responsible. And that is definitly someone I want around my daughter. | |

Posted: 4/9/2005 3:21:41 PM | I'm a singlemother of a 4 year old boy, who's father left when I was 8 months pregnant. He saw him last on October 9, 2001 & my son was born at the end of Feb. It was his decision not to be in his life. I love for him to be here for my son.
I find it hard trying to find a man who doesn't mind kids and know that my son comes first b4 any relationship. How do I find a man who will take the package. | |

Posted: 4/11/2005 7:45:27 PM | | In thinking about all that has been said here. I think its not just about having kids. It also means that theres an ex wife or ex girlfriend in the picture somewhere. And theres also the custody and visitation issues. I'm thinking both of these are kind of intimidating. I'm not saying women cant handle stuff like that. But theres allways the extra drama when ever an ex is in the mix. I'm dealing with my custdoy case now with an ex that lives out of state and all the chaos that go's with it. If I step back and really look, theres some days that I'm not sure if I'd want to date me lol. I guess a little understanding is what we are looking for. | |

I wanted to get my kids involved in sports and clubs so I didn't have time for a full time relationship. That was something that the women did not like. Now my children are more independent I have more time to offer women and things are going well. I have my children full time. | |

Woman that don't see and appreciate that means they are not yet at that point in their life where they are ready to settle down at all....still in party mode. I would say seek out single moms, they would understand what it takes. If you are seeing a woman who doesn't want to go and spend the day with you and your kids at the park then I would say " see ya" Its a package! | |

Posted: 4/20/2005 8:51:30 AM | After 14 years of having custody of my daughter, I seriously would not have it any other way. Being a single father has been a gift. I've had the opportunity to impact the life of my now 17 year old, who is torturing the heck out me right now but, that's another thread.
If there's one thing I see missing here, other than the women sending out the love, thank you ladies', is the Congratulations to all the single fathers who've given their guidance, love, admiration for and attention to their children. Way to go men. You've earned and deserve praise and honor. Our battles are not fought just against the pressures of this day. We've had millions of men before us who've done way wrong towards their children in all ways imaginable. And we, as men, carry the stigma of not being capable of child rearing because of our fore fathers deeds. I hated this sterotype. My child is blood relations. Nothing stops me from doing her right. Not corporate America, not the Courts, not even thousands of years of sterotypical male transgressions. My daughter is family. And family comes first.
A woman not interested in me because I am an involved, supporting and loving father of another human being. To bad for her. Happy | |

Plus, if they have kids of their own they usually understand what I'm going through and are compassionate and understanding in that department ... and not so prone to run around and do things that might hurt the relationship.
