Posted: 1/8/2006 12:39:54 PM | racechick> i was upset at all about it, yea i will admit i was disappointed on how his year went but i do agree he will get a cup win, he got the racing blood in him and he had the best of the best as a teacher and dale sr was a hard ass on jr i did read that in dale sr book that i have...... can i ask a ? here for all race fans and non race fans,,, if you are seeing someone and he or she has alot of nascar item he or she collected and he or she moves in and they kinda break up and nascar stuff is in storage for now , my ? is would you do what ever you could to make sure nothing happend to it or would you not care at all, the reason i am asking is i was told all my dale sr and dale jr stuff i have collected since 1995 is all gone. i am just sick over it all and i will be finding out if its true or not true and i will tell ya if its true i will be one hot headed person that no one has seen. let me know what ya all think please

There are those that saw the talent during his short Busch career but there are also those that once he started winning dumped the guy the had supported and jump on the rainbow bandwagon. But this happens when alot of drivers start winning, not just Gordon. | |

Posted: 1/8/2006 12:52:32 PM | Nice Guy~Ok..I'll agree there...I don't care if my driver is winning or losing, I won't just dump and run! A lot of folks do though and you're right there. Of course we all enjoy it more when ours is winning but you've got to support them no matter what! This takes me back to my problem with NHGUY and I hate to talk with him not here....BUT.... I can't understand being so loyal to a vehicle brand.... yes I love Chevy...BUT...if Tony left and went to Ford....I'd have to follow and I hate Ford!
That baseball analogy of his did nothing for me.....That's a whole team not one player.....this is also a whole team but the driver is who you follow the closest. Not the vehicle.
Example ...I'm a loyal Cardinal's fan and if they revamped their whole team I would still be a Cardinal's fan. My guy on the Cardinal's is Scott Rolen.....he was out most of the year.... I didn't leave the Cardinal's because of him not playing....It would be like saying if the Cardinal's left St.Louis..changed their name and moved to California..(I use that as an example because I have no desire to go to Cal.) Then I wouldn't like them anymore. Wrong...I would still be their fan no matter where they were.....
Now does any of that make sense? It's sometimes hard to type as fast as my mind thinks! Hush NHGUY!

I've been an Astros fan for over 20 years and finally got to see them in a World Series. I've been New Orleans Saints fan for over 20 years and still have not baled on them (not eactly sure why not ). 
But in Nascar I follow the driver not the manufacturer or team | |

Now before anyone jumps on me for any of the comments I made....I firmly believe that it takes ALL of the team...Crew and driver to get the win....but my point is....without that exceptional driver behind that wheel...that car won't drive itself.....I know the team makes it a whole...but you HAVE to have that driver or it just won't go! And w/o a real driver, it's not gonna get you to a win! So Sinjia~~before you had a chance to commment~~ I did it for you!

I read on Jayskis that Musgrave has been looking for a ride and might end up in the 15 truck. It said somethng about Dodge pulling its support and Jimmy Smith couldn't find another sponsor and won't put his own money in to run the team. He got his championship so at leats he can walk away with that. | |

You'll find it in Nascar friends and has to do with the limits being imposed on teams regarding the # of cars they'll be able to own.
RC - thanks for the article. We were discussing it here yesterday and he said he looked but hadn't seen it.

I was basing it on the whole "Loyalty" theory and people dumping their drivers to go to one who is winning. So, I think that's what brought it up...sorry! I will re-state that I am loyal to GM or Chevy......Have any of you ever pulled up behind a Ford at a stop light??? Smells awfull.
I am loyal to Jeff Gordon. And Hendricks Motorsports is not going anywhere so untill Jeff decides to retire all of you are going to have to put up with me! Unfortionately for you there are a couple more Cups in Jeff's future......So Sinjia and I will be very vocal! THE DRIVE FOR FIVE is alive and gaining strength......
