I love the way so many different drivers have their own personalities behind the wheel. Biffle never lays back, he drives every lap like it's the last one. If he nearly spins out, he doesn't even take time to catch his breath before he's passing cars again! P.S.( I guess you were like Tony, wanting to Strangle him after Martinsville?) | |

Every once in a while she decides to chase him around the garage. But she is generally wearing a Stewart shirt and we both know that little 24 just looks at that and has quite a laugh for himself! Racechick is only 3'8" so it is like a cartoon.........

1: Greg Biffle ( Gotta pick him.)
2:Jeff Gordon ( He's baaaack.)
3:Tony Stewart ( Defending champ. Enough said.)
4: Mark Marting. ( Going out with a bang.
5: Kevin Harvick: (I think he's due for a good year.)
6: Jimmy Johnson: ( Has he ever finished out of the top 5 in points?)
7: Kyle Busch: ( Going out on a limb, but he's going to make some noise.)
8: Matt kenseth: (I think he'll be like a stealth bomber again.)
9: Joe Nemecheck: ( If he didn't have such bad luck he would be kicking butt!)
10: Elliot Sadler: ( I think the Virginian can make it again.)

Some of these teams seem to be very competitive as of late. They only have to be within 400 points. I will try to come up with my list later, but I have said before.....Watch Denny Hamlin.

I don't know if he'll make the chase this year, but he will be good. You bring up a point too. I forgot about the 4oo point thing.

Posted: 12/2/2005 12:37:11 PM | GregBfan~Wow! That was a big woops huh? LOL! Hamlin ran only like 5 races or something this year in Nextel and his average finish was incredible. Sinjia has told me that he has quite the reputation in other series.
This was only the 2nd year of the Chase. I think teams will play there cards different (so to speak) next year. I think there were teams just riding around, figuring to make the chase. Well Tony lit up the 2nd half of the season, and even the top 10 were not all within 400 points. I think it was a learning experience for a lot of teams. I just think '06 will be different.

Before that it was All Jimmy and Greg. i know a lot of drivers did good this year, but Jimmy Greg and Tony were the cream of the crop. ( As good as we're talking about Tony, we must be making race chick feel good.)

I wasnt able to watch the awards last night.. didnt have it in me to do so. Congratulations to Tony tho for his 2nd Championship. Just sad for him that its his last RaceChik! 
Greg, Not that you list wasnt a great fantasy ride, but there are a few out there that will be close to the hunt... ie Carl Edwards and yes, Denny Hamlin. Both are great young shoes. As far as Sassy (Kyle) Busch, he will self destruct like his brother. Sissy (Kurt) Busch not only screwed hundreds of Roush employees, he screwed sponsors and Jack Roush himself. Jack gave Kurt his first ride in Cup and even won the championship last year. And to do this to him and the team is just plain wrong. Going to Penske... those two will be two peas in a pod. But he will run there just like Rusty.... sorry, wont win too often. If he does, I will be suprised.
A lot of people have forgotten who Sassy Busch drove for a few short years ago.... yes, it was Jack Roush. Jack hired Sassy to drive a Craftsman Truck... then Nascar came out with the 18 year old rule, so Jack paid an ASA team to let Sassy drive for them. That shop is only 12 miles from me and I know all of that crew very well. While driving for the Yoder/Ford team that was financed by Roush Racing, Sassy signed a long term contract for Hendrick... behind Jack's back. So I guess you could say both Busch kids pulled a bush league thing, stabbing Jack Roush in the back.... so neither will ever get my support... and Sassy drives for Hendrick and I wont support him.
Sorry, got up on that titanium soap box... hadnt been on that in a while. I believe in honesty and loyalty and neither Busch drivers know what that means.

As I said yesterday, I think the Chase in '06 will have a few extra drivers. I'm gonna go out on a limb and just throw out between 12 and 14 drivers. I'm sure all the teams have or will be looking at Tony's performance in the 2nd half of '05 and they must re-think that just ride and make the chase theory that most teams seemed to have. I think the points going into the chase will be alot tighter. So.....My "very early" prediction for '06 looks something like this.
1.Jeff Gordon
2.Carl Edwards
3.Denny Hamlin
4.Jimmie Johnson
5.Tony Stewart
6.Greg Biffle
7.Ryan Newman
8.Kasey Kahne
9.Elliot Saddler
10.Dale Jarrett
If there are extra drivers in the chase, and I really think there will be. My picks would be these.
11.Joe Nemechek
12.Jeremy Mayfield
13.Matt Kenseth
14.Casey Mears
With so many changes already set for '06, I think there will be a lot more competetive teams. Yates just hired 2 great crew chiefs. Will the teams gel? I can forsee a little turmoil within Rousch. Watch Denny Hamlin....I just have that feeling. Another to keep your eye on in my oppinion is Front row Joe......Like I said "early predictions"....They could switch or move around a little before February....
