| I swear men are a puzzle... Posted: 12/27/2004 9:29:41 PM | I'm not sure if I catch exactly the drift of this thread, as I can't say I follow your dating saga all that closely.
But, if I called up someone (guy, girl, love interest, friend, whatevs) and they said they would rather drink gin and go to bed instead of chill with me, there would be this little bell, a really OBVIOUS bell, that would go *ding-a-ling-a-ling* in my head, to indicate that this person wasn't interested in me in the least, and I wouldn't contact them again.
Life is too short to waste on people who make CLEAR signals that they aren't that interested.
We aren't a puzzle, us guys. Girls, however, are, to coin a phrase "consistent in their inconsistency" ;P

| I swear men are a puzzle... Posted: 12/28/2004 8:10:29 PM | Patriarchal? Look at how the vast majority of people, at least in my city, live- and you will see it is really a matriarchal society. I'm not talking about the privledged few who post here-
Almost everyone I know is a part of the following system: An older woman is in charge of a household, she takes care of everyone and makes the decisions. She might have a daughter or two who got pregnant, so she now has the father of her daughter's baby in her household. It goes on and on, but one older female is almost always in charge, fixes all problems and runs the family.
Men are usually just sperm donors, wandering in and out of families getting females pregnant. In and out of jail and other matriarchs' homes, etc. They don't hold jobs the way the women do.
This was the basis for primitive societies which are matriarchal. It's the most natural and we are, unfortunately?, going back to it.
We might have men in high political positions, but they get where they are in pursuit of sex (power). For a man the overblown ego= more sex. If you don't think ALL presidents are getting some under the desk, you need to wake up! that's off the subject, I'm sorry.

It goes on and on, but one older female is almost always in charge, fixes all problems and runs the family. >> Ok,granted running the families. If she's not working, then welfare and somebody's child support is financially supporting them. The money to run this household has to come from somewhere. If she is working, she can't possibly be doing the 100% effort for the kids and the household.Something has to give at some point.I know,I've tried.I'm a single parent and I work two jobs.No one is omnipotent and omniscient.>

>>Excuse me?????Sperm donors???I take issue. My ex left me with our two daughters and I'm not unique.I would call her and others like her an egg donor.Hold jobs??I've been in the same field for over 25 years.Longest my ex held a job was eight and that was when she was with me.When I was downsized from one job,I had a woman tell me not to worry about getting another job, that I should be spending more time with the kids and to apply for social assistance.Well as I was looking for another job I did apply.Social services in my state don't look at single men with kids the same way they look at single women with kids.>> This was the basis for primitive societies which are matriarchal. It's the most natural and we are, unfortunately?, going back to it. >>If we are going back to it,rest assured it will lead to the demise of western civilization as we know it.>>

If you don't think ALL presidents are getting some under the desk, you need to wake up! that's off the subject, I'm sorry. >> So what's your point?I could care less how much under the table nookie a president, king, prime minister, whatever gets on his own time.If he can get things done, who cares? While I'm no big fan of Bill Clinton,at least there were no major pigfuk wars going on during his administration and he was trying to do something with this horrendeous health care problem we have here in the US. I am not bashing women or downplaying their role in society, yet because of the differences in the way men and women think, men still are the motivators, movers and shakers. If women called the shots,I doubt we would have ever put anyone in space or even advanced beyond 19 th century science. It was the quest for power and competitive drive that motivated advancement. This is not to say that women don't possess these characteristics, but they do play a different part in a woman's world.
