| Balding men Posted: 9/25/2006 7:28:57 PM | | Seems this is the thread where all proud bald/balding POF guys put in an appearance, so wanted to make sure I wasn't left out. I attribute the whole balding trait to the head having to accommodate brain expansion anyway! | |

| Balding men Posted: 9/25/2006 7:54:35 PM | not even 30 yet and i am going bald lmao. Some say shave my head others say just leave it be lol what do you think i should do?

| Balding men Posted: 9/25/2006 8:01:30 PM | 30...
Christ I was losing mine when I was 23
Tell you what though... if someone gave me a magic pill and said... take this and you'll have your hair back... I wouldn't do it... I've been bald now for almost 16 years.... Wouldn't change my looks or my hair... I am happy with my look and with my hair (or what is left of it )

| Balding men Posted: 9/26/2006 8:21:38 PM | | I don't know if this has been mentioned but my brother inlaw saves it up on the sides and then tries to comb it over top to look like a full head of hair ... Now this may look just dandy from the front shot but he's not fooling anyone on the rest of the globe ... I would definatly shave it off ... | |
|
| Balding men Posted: 9/26/2006 8:25:28 PM | Well kit i would say shave it too but ya can have some fun with it. | Balding men Posted: 9/30/2006 5:03:29 AM | To shave or not to shave that obviously is the question. I'm not sure, I guess if the person I was with thought I'd look better then off with it. Until then I really don't care.

| Balding Posted: 9/30/2006 5:54:17 PM | Kit: you are dead wrong. I was suppose to take a razor to my balding head at age 21?? And spend the next sixty yrs with one style: goatee and shaved head? C'mon! Bald or balding is a non-sexy state in our youth obsessed nation. Would U tell my balding siter to shave?? | |
|
| Balding Posted: 9/30/2006 5:56:40 PM | | whoops! that should of read "...balding sister.." | |
|
| Balding men Posted: 9/30/2006 5:58:25 PM | I don't care if they shave their heads, but save me from the comb-overs!
They don't fool any of us - and don't look good on anyone. I'd rather see downy fuzz all around the edges than any comb-over, especially one glued down with Brylcreme or some other grease.
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/1/2006 3:36:10 PM | ^^^^ Amen!!!!!!!!!!
Our assessment of the men that use comb over's as a way to hide the obvious fact that they are balding does NOT mean we can't look past it and see what's on the inside as what seemed to have been stated by another poster. But the bare fact (pun intended) is exactly as stated above, no one is fooling anyone but themself!
Be true to your natural style guys!
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 4:45:25 AM | This is a thread about a "Comb over" vs. "shaved head look" The majority of balding guys don't even do a comb over... in fact it is an oddity to see someone who does... It seems a lot of the post are focusing a bit too much on how bad the RARE comb over looks
When I was growing up the term bald included "someone who had lost their hair on top but had hair on the sides/back" It was rare to see a shaved head except for the Mr. Clean commercial, Yul Brenner, and Kojak....
Now it seems anyone who is losing their hair is encouraged to do the shaved head, gotee thing... Again if you like that look and it works for you... great... but that shaved/gotee combo can be just as much guys trying to "hide" their baldness as the comb over...
Bottom like.. if you find yourself losing your hair... find a style that works for you... Exepriement a bit... Christ, women change their hair stles all the time... no reason guys can't either....
But going bald certainly does not mean we are going to have to choose between the comb over and shaved look...
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 11:37:31 AM | Typo
sorry... Meant to say "this thread IS NOT about comb overs vs. shaved head look"
| |
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 11:44:46 AM | Knicker? lol. You just knew a comb over comment was going to seep out somewhere in this thread! lmao I will re-iterate what I said way, way back...I think a nicely shaved head with perhaps one earring is sexy. I think a full head o hair is also sexy! Hell, I just think men are sexy! lol But truly, to see a fellow with a rug that is not nicely secured to his crown or unruly, sporadic tuffs of hair? Naw, come on fellows! You can do better than that! | |
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 11:48:37 AM | Do men also go bald in thier nether regions??
Cause THAT would be hot!
| |
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 11:50:22 AM | Roxxy darlin? This thread was not about bald ealgles dammit! lmao
Get yer butt back on topic!
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 12:03:43 PM | OMG Roxy ..... you go girl I want to know too LMAO
But what about bald woman ????
For the record .... bald men are sexy as hell.... unless related to the Cone Heads
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 12:26:20 PM | Roxy... I don't shave my head... either one
KitKat... who said anything about a rug.... what is wrong with just a short well kept balding head... no comb over, no rug.... Hey Roxy's mom likes it
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 12:28:08 PM | Knicker? You were the fellow who pointed out the deviation from my original post! lol So I just threw in the hairpieces! lol Matter of fact, you are correct though. One does not have to go "bald" either. A nicely cropped head works too as long as it is neat! Now cummere an let me pet yer head! | |
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 12:39:22 PM | dknickerbocker, many men in my neighbourhood seem to think they can fool others with comb-overs, that's why I brought it up. Even my dad tried one - until he saw the digital pic that I took on a breezy day. :-)
I don't care if a man's hair is long, short, missing in the middle, sides or wherever - as long as what's there is clean. Shaved or not, it's the person that I'm interested in, not his hair.
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 5:40:40 PM | dknicker: wow ok that is young but i guess its true that blading doesnt always start in your 40's or 50's lol
I am not sure what i am going to do with my head.. i wear hats when I can lol but maybe i will just let nature take its course!
Some of these hair growth medications work but given my medical history im not sure if its safe for me to try it so ill check with my doctor on that.
I can see my high school picture from here and i had a think head of hair those were the days lmao
|
| Balding men Posted: 10/3/2006 5:51:34 PM | ^^^
When I first started losing my hair I used rogaine for a few months... it had just come out and was by perscription only...
My Doc told me it only grew new hair on a small percentage of men.. and only worked to keep your hair in for a limited time... After I stop using it I had a dramatic hair loss in a relatively short period of time...
Once I started losing it... I just started wearing it shorter and shorter... after a while I just got used to it... and like I said... wouldn't change it for the world now..
