"Queen Bee" with Joan Crawford. It's very intense, you'll despise the main character!
"The Bad Seed" about a child's mysterious behavior
"House Guest" a laugh out loud comedy with Sinbad
"The Tales of Beatrix Potter" for anyone with kids, its an animated story about my favorite little fella, Peter Rabbit. Keep an eye out for when he says, "I'm not afraid."
"Lassie" - the original movie is one of my all time top five flicks. Good for kids and adults.
"Frequency" has it all! time-space continuum, a father's love, a couple's romance, and a killer who needs a good *** kickin'. One terrific thriller.

The Fisher King with robin williams

An Evening with Kevin Smith -- not a movie but some good insights about the movie industry but mostly he is down to earth and funny as hell. Plenty of swearing, especially funny is his story of how he met his wife.

dead bang with don johnson.its not a big flashy well known film but i tought it was entertaining and different as a cop thriller.the cop in the movie is quite the mess and in one scene he actually trows up on one of the suspects he arrests.now u have to admit u dont see that in evry cop thriller.lol
pacific heights with michael keaton is another particular thriller.its meant to be scary and an intense thriller but the story is so funny that it makes it so entertaining and almost a comedy to watch.especially the way keaton plays it.
theses 2 movies are not that well known but i find are good.

tango & cash with stallone and kurt russell is more a classic gem than anyone wants to admit.this movie is like the best buddy cop movie ever.
and 'the last boyscout' with bruce willis and damon wayans is also probably considered just a trashy hit but watch it and u will see that its quite original and totally a blast of one liners and pure fun.a bit different than most movies in its genre.the movie is nuts.lol
it contains some of the weirdest one liners ever put on film.

That film, and "Evening Harder" ( ) are wonderful examples of someone's personality making for a great bit of entertainment. A very big thumbs up (especially for those not familiar with Kevin Smith. ) .

Jeux d'enfants (03), Love Me If You Dare in English. Simply beautiful. And I will agree with Secondhand Lions, I loved that one too. Haute Tension was a helluva good one too, except for the ending. And another that I loved was Frequency.

Event Horizon - something about sci-fi horror that I like. Plus Lawrence Fishburne is especially cheesy which makes it fun.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - different and original

Barfly - kinda depressing, but funny

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - most profanity in one movie ever

Chasing Amy - Jason Lee cracks me the f*** up.

Some movies I forgot:

Spartan - Probably the best movie I've seen that Kilmer actually had the lead role in. Also one of the few thrillers by David Mamet that I like. One of my favourite movies, actually.

Black Rain - IMO one of Ridley Scott's least appreciated movies. Great one-liners.

Death to Smoochy - Edward Norton as a goody-goody and Robin Williams is right off his rocker. You have to see this. Further proof that Danny DeVito really is a good actor.

Heat - Michael Mann's cult-classic crime movie. Best non-computer-generated shootout ever. Excellent pacing (despite it's length, it flies), deep characters, excellent story, great acting.

I'm becoming a movie buff so here are a few:
Some from past 6 months:
Firecraker w/ Mike Patton (was lead singer for Faith No More and he plays dual roles in movie). It came out a few years ago and hidden . I found it on blockbuster.com Intense w/ interesting characters.
Coffy w/ Pam Grier (came out in 1973)
Black Caesar (w/ Fred Williamson also from 1970's)
Duel (one of Steven Spielberg's first movie circ 1972) The chase scenes are great and have been copied many times, recently for example in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof
Red by Dario Argento

Some B-movie:
Die You Zombie **stard
Pumkinhead
C.H.U.D.
