I was a big Winnipeg Jets fan (hence the name), until they packed up and left nearly 10 years ago.

jets4life~Another good point! Sometimes teams leave your area\city. If you have been a loyal fan to that team, then what?? Most fans have jerseys or souveniers etc. Are you not supposed to be a fan, because the team moved??

Well I am a Chicago fan for most pro sporting teams... the Bears, the Blackhawks, the Bulls, and the infamous Cubs. Notre Dame for college football! Racing, Jeff Gordon all the way in Nascar, Steve Kinser in sprints, Sam Hornish in IRL, John Force in NHRA.

And very very very loyal! I will always stick with them through thick and thin, and if anyone knows about Chicago ... trust me, there have been MANY more downs than ups.... but I love the city...

PS: White Sox are not true Chicagoans!!!!!! They are SOUTH of the city!!! LOL

Hmmm rivals... well we have several things going for us... passionate about the things we love and enjoy.... Ohhhh back to this topic! Well guess it applies to this too! Better shut up before I incriminate myself!

And see, Outkast there loves the Sox... and from the northern side of Chicago!!!!!!! Born there and yet roots for the Sox... just a cryin shame! And tho I appreciate his "giving" us the next World Series.... as I shake my head in disgust, they will need divine intrevention to ever win a World Series in todays world!!!!

LOL No Sinja Im not giving my "approval" for the Cubs to win theres two reasons why Im hope that the cubs do make it well 1 Its been way to long that the Cubs wonand well for chicago it would be the next greatest thing that happend The best thing for chicago was the Bulls Draft pick for MJ.. Number 2 is that it's a thrend now that all the Curses are to be broken and now in the 21 century its time..

Being from the northside across from WGN TV studios and down the street 3.5 miles from the ballpark I know first hand on how the Yuppie invasion in the 80's destroyed the fun of going to the ball park . With shops and driving up the pricies around the park etc.. it was more a show to be at the park than just to be a fan.. I remember the days of the original bleacher bums and Jack Brickhouse saying Hey hey and Dave Kingmans Monster blast from the park breaking out the old ladies window across the street. Those where some great days..
But The Sox is a working mans team always have its roots there..but who knows.. Cubs may get Roger Clemeans and it might be a Subways Series in Chicago who knows...

And I forgot another Home team Thunderbirds Roller Derby team from the 70's and 80's

hehe

Oh yea!!!! I forgot the Thunderbirds! LOL They were awesome! Yes there are curses that need to be broken! Wouldnt ol Harry smile if the Cubs could win... I can hear him now... CUBS WIN CUBS WIN CUBS WIN.... part of the fun going to the confines of Wrigley were to see if during the 7th inning stretch, Harry would or would'nt fall out of the window singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game".

And the buildings across the street where you could sit in a lawn chair and watch the game. Now the freaking building owner has built bleachers on the roof top and charges people to sit there!!!!!! Just isnt right!

Roger in a Cubs uniform! Hey, a great compliment to go with Maddux.... and I see where Sammy is not protected in Baltimore? Could he return? He burnt the people big time when he left and he hasnt been the same since! But he was an awesome Cubbie!

I was watching the ESPN News Morning show and the list of those not protected are like an All Star list of players from even as late as four years ago..... amazing! And Frank Thomas is also free to move!!!

I think the Mets in New York are doing their best with the money they have to spend. Just wish the Cubbies could do that!!!!! I would be happy if they won 100 games... dont even care if they went to the series.... just win more than they loose!!!

I think Roger Clemens should finish his career right where it started. There are probably a million fans around this area that would go against me on this, but I've said for a long time, that if the Boston Red Sox had Roger and Pedro at the same time the world series would have come back to Boston a lot sooner. The Sox have always been famous for having one great pitcher and a bunch of average pitchers to follow. When they finally had Pedro and Schilling together, look what happened.

I was a military brat, so I never really had a home team. However, since I settled in the Tampa area, as we gained teams, they became my team, for better or worse. And trust me, we have had a long load of worse. I found it easy to leave my old allegiances, because this is home, so Go Bucs, Bolts, Rays, Storm, Bulls.

always a yankee fan, ny giants (go big blue), uconn college hoops - men and women
now here's where it gets a little tricky. i was a hartford whaler fan until they moved to s.c.
i was left without a hockey team, i couldn't root for the rangers, islanders, or bruins, then i moved to nj, so obviously i've adopted the devils.
always hated the celtics though, the knicks made it really hard to root for during their thug era, so again another nj team the nets.
sorry, but don't know squat about nascar.

oh, and btw i always root for my home team.
