| Girlfriend Wants Plenty of Fish Password! Posted: 11/14/2008 8:45:58 AM | Why would either of you have an account if you are already in a relationship. Sounds to me like some people want to have their cake and eat it too... | |

Sounds to me like some people have preconceived notions about other's intents w/o knowing the full story!
Afterall, pof DOES have forums for people in EXISTING relationships AND forums NOT related to dating! And, there are a BUNCH of women here that are either married or Not Single/Not Looking and fully happy within their relationships!
While I'm not one to EVER give out passwords, dispelling an SO's trust issues can be relatively easy. Either delete the account, or sign on and let him/her look around, to see what you're upto.
When I'm in a relationship, I'm not going to be upto no good. So I have no problem letting her have a look-see. And if she still feel uncomfortable about me being in a place like this......then I'll simply close the account and find something else to do.
In MY mind, the relationship far outweighs any website!

| Girlfriend Wants Plenty of Fish Password! Posted: 11/14/2008 9:07:33 AM | ski with me: And thank you Darlin for dredging up an old post from 2005 to the top of the forums.
THIS POST FROM THE OP IS FROM 2005 and is 20 pages long.
I think its been covered. Last original idea added was in no later then 2006. How many times do people need to add a post here saying "why are you even on here when your in a relationship"? (long sigh...........)
Let this puppy die!

Why don't you want to give her your password? Just asking. I'd like to hear your reasons.
Can I answer for him here?
Sweetheart... (long sigh....) Maybe because he posted this thread in 2005 and isnt on the friggin site anymore.
This is WHY these old threads should die.

Alexy: I would agree, in the case of a matured relationship. But, a young and fresh relationship wouldn't and shouldn't have complete and total trust. In a new relationship, we offer the other person an initial amount of trust and give them room to build upon that trust. Which is why I say that I have no problem with an SO checking up on me. It will soothe/ease her suspicions and curiosity and work to build upon that trust that she has afforded me.
Now, if we're 5 years in and we both think that everything is honky-dory and these trust issues arise? THEN, there is a bigger problem afoot.
But, to be blindly and totally trusting in a fresh relationship is childish and foolish!
BTW, I notice that your written English is getting better. Good job!

| Girlfriend Wants Plenty of Fish Password! Posted: 11/14/2008 10:21:41 AM | I totally wouldn't. I'm kinda stupid as in I use the same password for EVERYTHING. eMail, Banking account, credit cards, PayPal, eBay, Amazon, work and so on *LOL* Sure it's a hard password but hahahahaha
So No, I totally would not let anyone have my password.

Privacy is a Right for a reason. There are other ways to create trust and confirm your commitment to her. This is NOT the optimal avenue to create trust and is a SLIPPERY SLOPE.

Okie, but we must draw a line, no? You refuse to give password, my line is different. I am open to answer simple question of am I dateing from this site, but offer proof because he can not believe my words is not what I am willing to do.
I enjoy the forum here and many other thing online, and should not be force to give it up only because he can not accept my answer. Even in new relationship, if he can not trust my words, there is little future.

Sweetheart... (long sigh....) Maybe because he posted this thread in 2005 and isnt on the friggin site anymore. I tend to not take note of the date of the original post. I should pay more attention to that. And yes, I agree, let the old posts die. Perhaps there is a reason, of which we are not aware, for POF keeping the ancient posts alive instead of sending them to an archive.
