| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 2:10:28 PM | Hmmmm, maybe Mr Bush is not that good at householding...
Reminds me about Mrs Blair who had an opinion about Palestinians. The husband hurried to correct the wife's honest sounding statement... A lesson: do not marry a politician, you would just lose your identity - except if you were Hillary Clinton.
Seriously: one irritating side in Bush is his attitude towards women. Talking about family values is not bad but if you are using it for personal interests (or justifying inequity) it is nasty. Same as creating monsters everywhere in order to get justification for your illegal acts... With this little man it sounds like he has first the target, and after that he creates ideology, although it should be vice versa.

I was thinking a bit about this Bush and goverment thing... I really do believe Mr Bush would be wiser if putting more effort on social sector and education. Now his decisions are very narrow short-term interests based. Like he would not be interested what will happen in future, just what looks good at this very moment.
Actually I'm really glad that you brought up the whole education issue. It's really funny to see how the current president wanted to make the No child left behind act a mandatory part of all schools in the U.S., but yet there is no funding for this ??? More recently that has been funding for new school education in the health and wellness, calling for abstenance. putting 115 million dollars into telling children that you shouldn't have sex until your married. that's about the dumbest thing I've heard. lol.
It goes a bit something like this for a comparison. Your at work and you happen to get a paper-cut or hurt yourself working with the equipment that you use daily, so you go to your foreman/boss/supervisor and tell him you need a bandage for your cut and him telling you "No that can just wait" it's ok. When you get done at the end of the week we will look into the possibility of giving you something.

I read also about that No Child Left Behind program. - The scary part in Bush ('s goverment) is that the deeds and the words are not very well synchronized. The reason he has lost the credibility. Somebody could ask why a foreigner would be interested in what happens in the US but due to globalisation we cannot just close our eyes. There is not that much others can do but it is good to know where we are going. The fact the US is a super power and "world police" have an influence also elsewhere. The dollar's state is just one example.

As for Clinton and his economics LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!! Yea thanks for the economic bubble that's burst Enron telecomm anyone? That doesn't happen in a 1yr, the 1st yr of Bushes office.
As for Clinton not being as corrupt as Bush, maybe if you spent as much time digging up dirt on Bush and spend it on Clinton, you would see how wrong that statement is. This is always a two way street.
Certainly this is true in policits in general and I would like to say that it seems like all the more recent within the past 10 - 12 years of Presidency in the U.S. likes to think that the easiest way to get yourself out of a dillema is just to "throw money at it". Yeah this is true in all the President's that we have had, but it's more so a problem in this 21st century than at any other time that I have seen. Part of the problem that america as a whole, Repbulican, Democrat, Liberal, Green Party (and any other's I can't think of at the moment) has. Instead of making another round about way of avoiding what we have that dosen't work in this country it would be nice to think we don't just introduce new bills to "overlap" what we previously did. There is alot of overhaul that I can see that would make this country alot stronger than it already is.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 5:00:08 PM | "This is more typical revisionist history as told by a war-lovin' USwarphile. Russia had been fighting the Germans for years, slowly advancing and weakening them. The U.S., despite knowing about the concentration camps (and not giving a d*mn), and about 6,000,000 dead Jews, stayed completely out of the fight. In fact, many very rich Americans had very close ties to prominent Nazis, and it is no secret that after the war, the most heinous of Nazi criminals were invited to the U.S., pardoned, given new identities and provided with very lavish jobs with the U.S. govt., and with private enterprise. A disgusting thing indeed.
The fact is, that it was only after the German ambassador OFFICIALLY DECLARED THE U.S. AN ENEMY OF GERMANY, did the U.S. decide to attack. By then it was like the proverbial jar lid... 10 people have twisted the lid, and when it got to the last person (the American military), the d*mned jar lid was already practically falling right off. Of course, the last person to twist the lid ALWAYS takes all the credit.
The U.S. allowed 6,000,000 Jews to die and watched as it happened. Now it stands as some kind of hero. Yeah. Uhuh. A hero of the dead."
U.S. intel only had a hunch but never learned of the true atrocities till after the war. the U.S. considerd the Waffen SS just an elite fighting unit but later found out that they did hitlers dirty work of murdering the jews.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 5:13:25 PM | UGot it ISO: Does anyone REALLY believe that Bush worked to push this "no child left behind" fund (which also pushes OTHER education programs out of the way) for MILLIONS OF DOLLARS and then FORGOT TO FUND IT?
This is not mental illness. This is not absent-mindedness. This president is a criminal who's robbing us blind.

My response is LOL! 6,000,000 Jews carted off to concentration camps, tortured then gassed, and all other countries of the planet know except the U.S. Awwww. We're just always in the dark! Yeah that's it!

Seriously, though, during a prolonged campaign such as World War Two, there was simply too much information out there for any of the major players to not know what was happening.
Someone may have actually been surprised to see it close-up, but it was hardly a secret.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 7:17:51 PM | Hi there Elwood -
Are you trying to tell me that Eisenhower had no clue millions of Jewish men, women and children were being rounded up, put in ghettos, murdered, starved, shot and gassed? For chrissakes, Jews leaving the occupied territories knew, Jews in Palestine knew, American Jews knew, surrounding nations knew, the French Resistance knew, an entire SHIP of Jews that managed to be allowed to leave and was turned away by the U.S. knew, continuous Morse Code transmission signals sent by Jews from the ghettos asked for help, but the U.S. of A. was in the dark? At the beginning of 1942 Polish news had reached London concerning the mass murders of Jews, and these news were even being published. It was broadcasted on BBC Radio. On June 12, 1942, Goebbels announced on radio that the Jews were playing a "game" and that as a result, there would be mass extermination of them. The New York Times carried this news in its entirety. In November, 1942 the State Dept. finally allowed the World Congress of Jewry to release to the American press information regarding the mass murders of Jews in the occupied territories, but only the State Dept knew and the rest of our govt didn't? Was the U.S. in the dark? In 1942, Roosevelt ordered a crime tribunal to be organized. But he was clueless? In 1942, Roosevelt, who already knew the murder of Jews was over 2,000,000, told Rabbi Stephen Wise to quit "pestering him" to stop the murders (this, during a visit to Paraguay). In June 1942, the NY Times published that over 1,000,000 Jews had already been exterminated. But the U.S. govt didn't know? In July 1942, the news leaked to Switzerland that Hitler had ordered the extermination of all Jews, and that 4,000,000 Jews had already been murdered. But our govt didn't know? A businessman for the World Council of Churches witnessed the murder of Jews like a sporting event, but our govt didn't know?
(And mind you, these are only a tiny handful of public exposures of the Holocaust).
Of course our govt. knew. They knew waaaaaay before these public exposures of it.

Hope you're all dry now lol
And yes, I agree with you. It's one thing not to know there's a Holocaust, and quite another to see the emaciated bodies one on top of another, and barely be able to breathe because there are hundreds of thousands of them. I'm SURE Roosevelt was shocked to see it up close and personal. But know about it? Oh he knew. Our govt knew it from the first time the Nazis shot Jewish babies by throwing them up in the air and firing at them.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 7:45:32 PM | The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is also the basis of the American asylum policy.
Prior to and during World War II, thousands of European Jews requested visas to come to the US to escape death camps. Strict quotas on immigration were in place and there was no mechanism for admitting refugees or asylees.
Most applicants for visas were denied and the US turned away ships attempting to bring in those fleeing the Holocaust. In one famous example, the ST. LOUIS, a ship from Germany with several hundred fleeing Jewish passengers, sailed from port to port around the world in search of a country that would take them. All, including the US, refused to let the ship's passengers.
Eventually, the St. Louis was forced to return to Germany. At the end of the war, all but four passengers perished at the hands of the Nazis.

I'd like to respond to something Mike raised on another thread - he wonders why people are interested in Bush's mind. It seems kinda obvious to me that people might be interested in the mond of someone who has an effect on the entire planet but I'm also genuinely interested in his mind as I think it might be quite abmormal...perhpaps not abnormal for captains of industry or all-powerful dictators but abnormal by the standards of our cultures and in terms of diagnostic criteria.
I'm taking the liberty of pasting some specific personality disorder descriptions on here and leave people to make up their own minds about how Bush might be understood by these abnormalities.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 8:22:52 PM | George Bush has a big violent streak. You don't believe that ? Watch how animated he gets when talking about war. So much of his rhetoric is about revenge, attacking, winning, and so on. His mannerisms are abrupt. His body language is angry. He rarely speaks of love, joy, compassion, art, music, kindness, or any sublime human traits. He usually walks with shoulders raised, arms to the side like a cowboy waiting to draw his gun. When non-English speaking people see him they instantly interpret his body language. Most of the time he clearly projects an angry, defensive, attacking persona. That's why people hate him. Duhh ! Body language doesn't lie.

George Bush is very secretive. Why ? He has a lot to hide, that's why. An intensely secretive personality is a trait common to criminals. George Bush hides behind "national security" and "war against terror". He points to "madmen" and "evil enemies" to justify himself. Yeah, right, George. We know what you're all about. Strong and honest people don't have to hide.
The bottom line is, George Bush is out of synch with the founders of our country so he shouldn't be president. The United States is a country founded on the search for real liberty, and our founders knew the dangers of mixing religion with politics and military power. http://www.911forthetruth.com/united_states_district_court.htm -- lawsuit for treason That's just for starters. Now let's talk about his policies. More to come.....
"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State."
Dr.Joseph Goebbels one of Hitler's henchmen Sociopaths are now known by the more politically correct and much longer phrase "persons suffering from antisocial personality disorder," but the definition is the same. From WebMD's medical dictionary: PERSONALITY DISORDER characterized by a conspicuous disregard for the rights and needs of others. Antisocial behavior begins before the age of 15 and includes such behaviors as truancy, delinquency, theft, and vandalism. Adults with this disorder show a lack of maturity, unwillingness to take responsibility, and emotional instability. The chief characteristic of such persons is an apparent lack of conscience. Their behavior includes a variety of antisocial and criminal acts, such as theft, engaging in an illegal occupation (for example, selling drugs), repeated defaulting on debts, sexual promiscuity, and repeated lying. In addition, an antisocial personality is often impulsive and aggressive and is unable to maintain consistent, responsible functioning at work, at school, or as a parent. Substance abuse is common. As in other personality disorders, individuals with antisocial personality disorders refuse to admit to any problems. A patient who is a criminal may honestly believe that anyone who is not a criminal is merely stupid. Those with antisocial personalities often seem to be unable to learn from experience. They also are seldom willing to accept psychiatric help and when they do agree to consult a psychiatrist, it is often only to avoid the legal consequences of their activity. Called also psychopathic personality or sociopathic personality.
