| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 10:29:13 AM | Varus, Who says I lack facts on anything? Are you not presuming much, my friend? Besides, I wasn't even talking about you in that short post I made. So there, Mr. Facts! | |

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 10:32:42 AM | | Oh but FalseProphet, how can you even DARE to call yourself a liberal?!?! You aren't following blindly (sheeple) or ranting non-stop! You aren't blaming all that's wrong with this world on Republicans and Christians. You aren't calling all Republicans bigots, imbeciles and homophobes! You are undermining the movement! Well hey, no one's perfect, right? Keep reading this thread and maybe you will become "enlightened". | |

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 11:34:16 AM | | Thank you Varus. Actually, my field is journalism, and I do have access to much information at times. It's no big deal, but I do occasionally read things. Mind you, I think it fair to say that there are always two trains of thought on any topic. For every argument, there is a counter argument, like as in for every action there is a reaction. In the end, things probably do get resolved, but it may take a lot of struggling and a lot of dissention first... | |

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 2:59:35 PM | Varus said the following (while sleepwalking): "Also there's a good reason no politician runs under the title LIBERAL it's a losing ticket. The people enjoy the freedom capitalism provides. "
My response to Varus is as follows: I've always found that in the U.S., with the exception of people of color, it's usually the poorest people, the most illiterate, the ones with the least potential, the ones who have the intelligence of a GW Bush (tho not his inherited wealth), that are the most servile, most obedient, and most willing to vote for any laws or politicians that benefit almost exclusively the rich. The reason why this happens in the U.S. and not in other countries, is that in the U.S., the rich Republicans have made it their modus operandus to lie to the least educated, while making sure to keep them uneducated by ensuring that the educational system in the U.S. receives miserably low funds.
An uneducated or under-educated populace swallows any amount of bull it is fed because it doesn't know any better. Having an ample population of uneducateds available, all the rich Republicans have to do is wave an American flag in front of their nose, play a Star Spangled Banner CD in their ear, and tell them over and over that we're surrounded by enemies because we're all doing so well, and soon the rich Republicans have the American poor believing their Ramen noodles are rack of lamb with rice and a sprig of parsley. It's not too much of a step from that, to get them to march like sheep to the polls and vote for them.
The standard of living in this country, for anyone who is not rich, is far below that of the European Union and many other countries. The EU worker has over 1 month of paid vacation. The EU has approximately 30 holidays. The EU worker has a safety net, should he lose his job. The EU worker has worker security, and can't just be "let go" at a whim. All EU children have health care. All EU children have guaranteed food. All EU elections are held when the most people are off (on a weekend), or are given the day off to vote. No one in the EU has to go without transportation, because transportation is a high priority there. I can go on and on and on.
Here, the majority of people live 2 paychecks away from the street. Thanks, Republicans.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 3:24:34 PM | Varus (still in a state of sleepwalking), copied and pasted, word for word, the following from any of approximately 100 to 300 right-wing websites which have the identical bull:

I, so as not to be left behind in this contest of copying and pasting, opted to post the Resume of our White House squatter, George W. Bush:
Accomplishments As President
Spent the surplus and bankrupted the treasury. Shattered record for biggest annual deficit in history. Set economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period. Set all-time record for biggest drop in the history of the stock market. First president in decades to execute a federal prisoner. First president in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record. Attacked and took over two countries. First year in office set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in U.S. history. After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history. Set the record for most campaign fundraising trips than any other president in U.S. history. In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their job. Cut unemployment benefits for more out of work Americans than any president in U.S. history. Set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period. Appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than any president in U.S. history. Set the record for the least amount of press conferences than any president since the advent of television. Signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any president in U.S. history. Presided over the biggest energy crises in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed. Presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history and refused to use the national reserves as past presidents have. Cut healthcare benefits for war veterans. Set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind. Dissolved more international treaties than any president in U.S. history. My presidency is the most secretive and unaccountable of any in U.S. history. Members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history (the 'poorest' multimillionaire, Condoleezza Rice, has an Exxon oil tanker named after her). First president in U.S. history to have all 50 states of the Union simultaneously go bankrupt. Presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud of any market in any country in the history of the world. First president in U.S. history to order a U.S. attack and military occupation of a sovereign nation. Created the largest government department bureaucracy in the history of the United States. Set the all-time record for biggest annual budget spending increases, more than any president in U.S. history. First president in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the human rights commission. First president in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the elections monitoring board. Removed more checks and balances, and have the least amount of congressional oversight than any presidential administration in U.S. history. Rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant. Withdrew from the World Court of Law. Refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. prisoners of war and by default no longer abide by the Geneva Conventions. First president in U.S. history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. elections). All-time U.S. (and world) record holder for most corporate campaign donations. My biggest lifetime campaign contributor presided over one of the largest corporate bankruptcy frauds in world history (Kenneth Lay, former CEO of Enron Corporation). Spent more money on polls and focus groups than any president in U.S. history. First president in U.S. history to unilaterally attack a sovereign nation against the will of the United Nations and the world community. First president to run and hide when the U.S. came under attack (and then lied saying the enemy had the code to Air Force 1) First U.S. president to establish a secret shadow government. Took the biggest world sympathy for the U.S. after 9/11, and in less than a year made the U.S. the most resented country in the world (possibly the biggest diplomatic failure in U.S. and world history). With a policy of 'disengagement' created the most hostile Israeli-Palestine relations in at least 30 years. Fist U.S. president in history to have a majority of the people of Europe (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and stability. First U.S. president in history to have the people of South Korea more threatened by the U.S. than their immediate neighbor, North Korea. Changed US policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts. Set all-time record for number of administration appointees who violated U.S. law by not selling huge investments in corporations bidding for government contracts. Failed to fulfill my pledge to get Osama Bin Laden 'dead or alive.' Failed to capture the anthrax killer who tried to murder the leaders of our country at the United States Capital building. After 18 months I have no leads and zero suspects. In the 18 months following the 9/11 attacks I have successfully prevented any public investigation into the biggest security failure in the history of the United States. Removed more freedoms and civil liberties for Americans than any other president in U.S. history. In a little over two years created the most divided country in decades, possibly the most divided the U.S. has ever been since the Civil War. Entered office with the strongest economy in U.S. history and in less than two years turned every single economic category heading straight down. Records and References
At least one conviction for drunk driving in Maine (Texas driving record has been erased and is not available) AWOL from National Guard and deserted the military during a time of war. Refuse to take drug test or even answer any questions about drug use. All records of my tenure as governor of Texas have been spirited away to my father's library, sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view. All records of any SEC investigations into my insider trading or bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view. All minutes of meetings for any public corporation I served on the board are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view. Any records or minutes from meetings I (or my VP) attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review. For personal references please speak to my daddy or uncle James Baker (they can be reached at their offices of the Carlyle Group for war-profiteering.)
Past Work Experience
I ran for congress and lost. Produced a Hollywood slasher B movie. Bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas; company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. Bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. Biggest move: Traded Sammy Sosa to the Chicago White Sox. With father's help (and his name) was elected Governor of Texas.
Accomplishments in Previous Positions
Changed pollution laws for power and oil companies and made Texas the most polluted state in the Union.
Replaced Los Angeles with Houston as the most smog-ridden city in America. Cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas government to the tune of billions in borrowed money.
Set record for most executions by any governor in American history.
Became president after losing the popular vote by over 500,000 votes, with the help of my father's appointments to the Supreme Court.
Isn't George something?! Thanks for listening! Sarah

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 3:45:25 PM | FP your in sight is interesting, unfortunately when you disagree with a Democrat that's when you put the big orange target on your head. What's funny is your giving a open honest opinion and since its not theirs your labeled as knowing nothing. I agree with you about the American Ego though, just read the forums and myself am guilty of this. That's the real issue that the world has with us. Bush just is lucky enough to get to be the target right now. As for WW2 being not worthy of mentioning when countries go against the grain, you should really talk to the ones who lived it. It was and still is a big deal there was alot to lose. Fortunately for us we are not old enough to really be able to relate to what was happening at that time. As for the jab at my IQ compared to Bush, first I wont comment since you wouldn't believe what it is and its really none of your business. Second IQ tests doesn't revolve around being able to express yourself, writing or publicly speaking. Take a look at one a get with me, and not a online one those are jokes.
Elwood what's happening to you? I've notice you've been getting to be frustrated at the name calling or indicating they have no brain lately on the forums when people post what you don't believe. This isn't like you.
Poetic well you just agree when someone gets insulted because you feel it justifies your ideals. You cant even disagree with another Democrat can ya? Read other peoples posts around here even some republicans can disagree with one another. Journalism, I wont knock your profession its honest work, but its usually one sided and sold as being impartial. That's impossible because your human, and media needs what sells.
As for Clinton and his economics LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!! Yea thanks for the economic bubble that's burst Enron telecomm anyone? That doesn't happen in a 1yr, the 1st yr of Bushes office. As for Clinton not being as corrupt as Bush, maybe if you spent as much time digging up dirt on Bush and spend it on Clinton, you would see how wrong that statement is. This is always a two way street.
As for Bushs mental illness, call him stupid all you want to make yourself feel better. Someone stupid doesn't get as far as he does and where hes at with no brain. But your reply will be money buys everything, yep that's a old hippy reply, hear it from my parents all the time. I'm sorry I think old fashion hard work gets you further in life, I'm not going to sit around feeling sorry for myself and blame "the man" or evil corporations for my short falls. To many have climbed out of nothing in this country including previous presidents and have made a real difference. As for the puppet master theory we can go all day on conspiracy theories but that's another thread. You should really read up on American politics, its always a give and take, dealings are always done in trade offs, and the ones who don't agree with the trade offs think a puppet master is hard at work. One last thing some one indicated that the media was corporate own and indicted it was pro Bush? I have no idea what TV you where watching before the election, allot of Kerry's faults where glossed over and Bushes faults dissected. Your right on the media owned corporations though MTV a well known Democratic media source which donated to the Kerry campaign. A little side bar on MTV its major financers are from the middle east. But they don't believe in western ideals, oops did I say that out loud?
FP you keep posting because whether I agree or disagree with you I enjoy reading a objective point a view.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 3:55:37 PM | Casper: Clinton balanced the budget and Bush's recession didn't start until after he was in office 9 months. He's wasted all that money he gave as "tax cuts" because it's not a cut in taxes. It all has to be paid back because it didn't stimulate the economy.
I'm frustrated because one can't get through to a person like you. You ignore facts like these and keep on coming back with the old, weak arguments. Why don't you read?
Oh.. and the media... In case you didn't know, the news program director for Fox is Bush's cousin....
Weak... | |

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 4:03:25 PM | from: http://archives.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/12/12/tv.foxexecutive.ap/
Fox executive spoke five times with cousin Bush on Election Night December 12, 2000 Web posted at: 9:24 AM EST (1424 GMT)
NEW YORK (AP) -- The head of Fox's projection team said he spoke five times with his cousin, George W. Bush, on election night but insists he did not give out confidential exit poll information. Bush got that information elsewhere, he said.
John Ellis, an election night consultant for Fox, was hired by Inside.com to write an account of what happened that night; it was posted on the Web site Monday. Ellis is becoming a regular columnist for the online publication's new magazine, Inside.
Publicity about his relationship to Bush has proved an embarrassment to Fox, whose executives were angry with him Monday for writing about it. The network is still investigating whether Ellis, who was working on a temporary contract, provided the Bush campaign with insider data.
Fox was criticized for having a Bush cousin as director of its team responsible for projecting the presidential race. The network, and Ellis, said an executive above Ellis had the final say on whether a state was called.
In their final conversation on election night, Bush told Ellis that Al Gore had taken back his concession of the race. "I hope you're taking all this down, Ellis," Bush reportedly said. "This is good stuff for a book."
Ellis did not discuss the spate of stories that questioned the ethics of a Bush relative working as part of the team that projected election night winners and losers....

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 4:08:22 PM | | correction to my own post, Bush's cousin was not news director, but a news analyst.. as if it makes any difference... Does Fox EVER not support Bush? | |

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 5:19:39 PM | yep you are correct about FOX can you name another hmmmmmmm lets see nope.
Casper: Clinton balanced the budget and Bush's recession didn't start until after he was in office 9 months. He's wasted all that money he gave as "tax cuts" because it's not a cut in taxes. It all has to be paid back because it didn't stimulate the economy.
Ummm yep like I said. Doesn't happen in 9 months either. Sorry I know you wish it could but in reality it doesn't work that way.
I'm frustrated because one can't get through to a person like you. You ignore facts like these and keep on coming back with the old, weak arguments. Why don't you read? And I'm sure I can say the same for you, specially when you cut and paste from a democrats website. Weak? do you have any original thoughts or just ones you can find on the net? usually when someone makes this comment they know they don't have a leg to stand on so the easy cop out attitude is exactly what you usually post. "what ever", "weak", "you don't know what your talking about", "read" you really hate when you cant argue with informed people don't you? Oops thats right Im not informed because I dont believe in your beliefs. Im sorry I have my own mind my bad, I dont have to frequent a Political based website to feed my mind.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 5:45:29 PM | Thanks for the enlightenment Casper. I was wondering where he finds all this crap.A Democratic website, that would explain it. | |
|
| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 5:56:06 PM | Yea bowvalleymike its not just one site hes pulling info from. Every post he has to express his haterad for Bush, and how the worlds woes are Bushs fault. He seems to be finding a way to work them in discussions. Im going to check the "Age......kids and yours" forum maybe he worked it in there to.
Poetic I owe you a apoligy. I reread some posts and it was my mistake it was not you who continuely agreed with the mud slinging........ I am sorry.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 6:00:49 PM | casper: facts are facts. TRUE facts are true facts. Bush is a criminal: FACT. he's the only US president to have ever been arrested before coming to office. He's the only president I've ever heard of whose WIFE killed someone (her ex-boyfriend) before he came to office. he's the only president to ever go awol in the US military....
he lied to start the Iraq invasion.
he had a secretary of state tell a bald faced LIE to the UN.
He sent the US military in to steal a nation's oil
Then he tried to cut combat pay.
He broke the SALT agreement.
He's paid 130 billion dollars for a "missile defense system" that doesn't work.
What else do you need, anyway????????

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 6:03:40 PM | | Oh.. and about my "cutting and pasting" *LOL* these cut and pastes were FACTS... of course, they weren't fox, which means to a person like you that they must have been "commie" or something... but that's what one gets when they try to reason with someone like you; who ignores everything except what THEY claim is *Fox News* | |
