| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 6:34:06 PM | I find it self evident that any website that supports the president will withhold any negative literature from being posted on thier sites.
I similarily find it self evident that those sites which oppose the president will not post positive information about this individual.
i think the debate is worthless if information is discredtited or validated based simply on political allignment of reader with respect to the orientation of the reader.
i think an effort should be made to become a little more organized on our parts, with an effort to facilitate someway to actually research and acknowledge what is true and what is not true.
Let us slow down a bit, maybe pick a specific topic to discuss and do some research then bring it to the table and have an actual intellectual debate over factual information.
i have seen many important points lost in the storm of this discussion, i have also witnessed some circular arguments going on.
I propose people pict thier strongest information and represent it in a new set of threads with the intent by participants to focus on a specific topic so we can hash out what points are most valid.
i guess my question is: is the conversation is becoming too broad to be of much use?
because of my own orientation, i thought saritamiami's post was great. anybody care to go through that post comment by comment with me and refute or validate any of it as fact?
there is alot of controversial information there but my feeling is that most of it is true. I could also add to it. i think i will cut and paste it as a new thread. anyone up to the challenge?

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 6:48:35 PM | YAWN!! Now ya bring FOX news into since I agreed it was a Republican channel. Well if you need to know I watch CNN and local channels such as NBC and ABC for news with one sides. I have a brain so I can deduct the BS from what's worthy of noting.I have probably gone at watched FOX twice in my life. But you seem to think you know me so maybe I am watching FOX, can you please tell me when so I can consciously wake up and get something from it?
FACT Bush is the ONLY president to have a MBA, your answer it can be bought (try a new argument)
FACT Secretary of state already stated he said what he believed in, your answer that's what he was told to say (try a new argument)
FACT Bush went to war, your answer for oil ( try a new argument that's debatable but in your mind its not, and we are stupid if we disagree)
NON FACTUAL (since you like cut and paste..)"Edwards twice accused the administration of having "lobbied the Congress" to cut the combat pay of troops in Iraq, when in fact the White House never supported such a plan.
Rather, the Defense Department proposed allowing a temporary pay increase for all troops worldwide (even those not in Iraq or Afghanistan) to expire, and promised to maintain current pay levels for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan with separate pay raises if necessary."
FACT ONLY Congress can do this, wasn't Congress majority Democrat if and when this was a issue?
FACT only you and other Bush haters claim he broke the SALT agreement USSR doesn't seem to be at that end of the argument for you. I would call the USSR up and ask them to support you.
FACT Congress (which was Democratically majority at the time) approved 130 billion dollars for the missile defense system, and 5 out of 9 where failures but then again how many times does it take to make anything right the 1st time? Oops this is Bush its suppose to work right the 1st time boy is he a dumb a**.
I do have to thank you though I have found a website in my search on what you called facts, where there's actually young high school kids and college kids talking about how they are being brain washed by the Liberal Media and how they are made to feel ashamed to be Republican with most of their peers. But then again you would say that's ok, because we live in a free world and all.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:00:40 PM | | ELWOOD Check msg85 and msg86 in " muslim jihadists killing everyone thread " which expose the facts underlying your Bush Hatred as complete fabrications and outright lies. | |
|
| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:02:34 PM | Yes your right igotoosu, it is getting broad and off topic. I'm just getting tired of the Bush bashing on every topic being brought in and used. And as I said I'm NOT a Republican I voted for Clinton twice. But I wont sit by and watch someone try to blame Bush for everything that's wrong in every stinkin topic.
I will try to do better igotoosu my Democratic friend and I mean that in a good way.
|
| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:06:14 PM | | But really, what can you expect with a topic as ludicrous as, " is bush mentally ill?" | |
|
| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:19:45 PM | well, near the beginning of the thread, dmt brought up alot of relevant information on the topic.
I can see reation being first instinct for people loving W to death, but, not all questions are easy to handle and there is seriouse debate about the topic by people in the know... i just don't know what to say i guess..but i was not trying to single out anybody in particular.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:29:30 PM | | Damn, I was doing a big response dealing with these so called facts and Santarimi ( just another vitriolic bush hater like DMT and ELWWOOD) but I hit the wrong key and I don't know where it went and I don't feel like retyping it.I read some crap abput aspartame poisoning and Bush's knee operation. More manufactured Bush hating crap. BUSH RAN SIX MILES A DAY UP TIL 3 Or 4 YEARS AGO, NO WONDER HE NEEDED A KNEE OPERATION. and so goes another so called "fact" manufactured by the bush haters.I've stopped even reading this Bush hatred/America hatred by certain contributors because its the same old tired, boring crap over and over again and is totally uninteresting. | |
|
| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:34:37 PM | | And so far as the Bush hater/America hater DMT goes, I suspect he does hallucinogenic drugs. He will undoubtedly deny it if asked directly, but he sure spent a great deal of time dancing all around the issue in a recent post.( Whats wrong with dope, is, I think the threads title, but I don't really care what he called it.). | |

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:35:14 PM | | Mike: you can tell dubyah to stop running now, the TANG admits they dropped the ball on his being AWOL and he got away with it. The statute of limitations has run out. | |
|
| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 7:36:59 PM | | I'LL JUST BET: that before bush leaves office, he'll PARDON HIMSELF for being AWOL during that time... Just you watch!!! | |
|
| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 8:08:48 PM | PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE elwood you have no idea absolutely NONE when it comes to Bushs service record. You have NO clue how the Military works, join and learn, then post on what you're trying to call AWOL. I'm not going to re post what some one else explained once already in another post how that works. People will find it boring. But stop trying to spread that bold face lie and that's a fact. You can pull what ever crap you want from a website. Pull it from a military site its a matter of public record. You cant and wont so don't even try the AWOL and we wont mention Kerry throwing his medals out or his participation in war crimes in Vietnam, that he fail to report at the time and only found it convenient now to bring up. You know absolutely nothing about the military, like I said enlist and get back with me, then Ill sit by and let you spuu on that issue. | |

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 12/31/2004 8:35:51 PM | "Shannanigan I didn't suggest that the Americans playedc no role in WWI or WWII. In fact I would say that WWII couldn't have been one without the Americans. It couldn't have been won without the British either. America played role in WWI but it wasn't as large as that of France, England (and the rest of the British Empire) or Russia"
falseprophet, if the united states did not help great britain hitler whould have launched operation sealion(the invasion of great britain). the only reason why he didnt launch the invasion was because of the lend lease aircraft given to the brits by the U.S. hitler though great britain had less then 200 aircraft. but when he found out they had over 2,000 he recalled the invasion. if he launched operation sealion great britain whould not have been prepared and whould have been occupied in a matter of months. once he secured the western front he could focus most of his supplies on one front instead of 2. then they can easily overpower russa. germany lost the war because he had to split up his forces. so the only way germany could go with the invasion of britain was if he destroyed the royal air force.
and after that the united stated launched the biggest bombing campaing in history. they knocked out so many factories that germany was forced to set up production in underground bunkers or inside forests or enywhere that will be unseen from the air. that slowed the production of the most technological weapons of the day such as the deadly tiger tank, the me262 jet fighter and the v-2 rocket. and about the me262 if the factories where not bombed they whould have made well over 10,000 of them because thats how many where being assembeld before they got bombed. they only managed to produce 1,433 and even with aircraft they lacked fuel to run it, with the fuel depots destroyed they ran short of fuel on all fronts. so the united states did make a big impact on the war and if they didnt bomb the factories nearly all of the german whermact whould have been mechanized and with that not even russa could stop them.

his religious devotion, and his staunch stand on national defense
This is something I find to be very funny that you bring this up. If you happened to notice over the years that Bush has been in office and the changes in voter turnout in his own republican party, at first the majority was Evangelical Christians on the first time he made it into office. Now they only make up about a good 45 - 50% of what it used to be. hmm. is that partially due to the fact that before invading Iraq, when the Pope decided to try to talk things over and help with the whole resolution of this situation and before John Paul was able to fully be told that our forces were entering that area that the pope could litterally "Kiss our ass" as far as that was concerned.
My second point on the National defense issue here. Very recently (only a few months ago), Bush has not upped security in the most vital area that fighting something such as a possible "terrorist" threat would be possible, which would be the borders around america. If you look on the Government's own web-page's within the Department of Homeland Security there are many many holes that are being allowed to go on. I have printed out one and would be more than happy to lead you to the link (from our own government remember) that allows any Mexican immigrants that have traveled into Arizona illegally to be (instead of being detained like you would think) escorted by the department of homeland security by being provided a bus ticket back over the border to mexico. I would like to hear what all of you think about that...??
Oh and one more minor note I would like to add is that in the senate this is the first president since Richard Nixon has held office that I have ever heard of or seen actual fights break out inside of the senate committee.
Just my two cents so far.

Your optimism truly knows no bounds. Now you're saying that GW Bush is not stupid, but that we're merely calling him "stupid." That's equivalent to someone saying that we're calling the Tsunami a Tsunami, but that the Tsunami isn't really a Tsunami at all, we're just calling it that.
You remind me of the emperor in the story, The Emperor's New Clothes, that as he paraded before his people down the main street of his town (the crooked tailors having assured him he was wearing clothing made with the finest gold threads), he believed himself to be fully attired, when in fact he was naked as a d*mned streaker.
Now don't get me wrong, kids engaging in make-believe is lovely and a necessary part of developing the infant brain. However, grown, mature males engaging in make-believe is highly embarrassing and undesirable.
Your president is an inveterate idiot. It doesn't matter whether he's on his feet, upside down, dressed in a suit or pretending to be a cowboy. He is an i-d-i-o-t. If he presented himself to be hired at a company, he'd soon be receiving a letter that reads, "don't call us, we'll call you." He's an idiot par excellence.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 7:37:51 AM | Swif now says: "falseprophet, if the united states did not help great britain hitler whould have launched operation sealion(the invasion of great britain). the only reason why he didnt launch the invasion was because of the lend lease aircraft given to the brits by the U.S. hitler though great britain had less then 200 aircraft. but when he found out they had over 2,000 he recalled the invasion. if he launched operation sealion great britain whould not have been prepared and whould have been occupied in a matter of months. once he secured the western front he could focus most of his supplies on one front instead of 2. then they can easily overpower russa. germany lost the war because he had to split up his forces. so the only way germany could go with the invasion of britain was if he destroyed the royal air force. and after that the united stated launched the biggest bombing campaing in history. they knocked out so many factories that germany was forced to set up production in underground bunkers or inside forests or enywhere that will be unseen from the air. that slowed the production of the most technological weapons of the day such as the deadly tiger tank, the me262 jet fighter and the v-2 rocket. and about the me262 if the factories where not bombed they whould have made well over 10,000 of them because thats how many where being assembeld before they got bombed. they only managed to produce 1,433 and even with aircraft they lacked fuel to run it, with the fuel depots destroyed they ran short of fuel on all fronts. so the united states did make a big impact on the war and if they didnt bomb the factories nearly all of the german whermact whould have been mechanized and with that not even russa could stop them."
This is more typical revisionist history as told by a war-lovin' USwarphile. Russia had been fighting the Germans for years, slowly advancing and weakening them. The U.S., despite knowing about the concentration camps (and not giving a d*mn), and about 6,000,000 dead Jews, stayed completely out of the fight. In fact, many very rich Americans had very close ties to prominent Nazis, and it is no secret that after the war, the most heinous of Nazi criminals were invited to the U.S., pardoned, given new identities and provided with very lavish jobs with the U.S. govt., and with private enterprise. A disgusting thing indeed.
The fact is, that it was only after the German ambassador OFFICIALLY DECLARED THE U.S. AN ENEMY OF GERMANY, did the U.S. decide to attack. By then it was like the proverbial jar lid... 10 people have twisted the lid, and when it got to the last person (the American military), the d*mned jar lid was already practically falling right off. Of course, the last person to twist the lid ALWAYS takes all the credit.
The U.S. allowed 6,000,000 Jews to die and watched as it happened. Now it stands as some kind of hero. Yeah. Uhuh. A hero of the dead.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 8:27:04 AM | Ok I've been reading the message on this thread catching up after enjoying a night on the town on New Years Eve.
Someone mentioned that Bush go into office by losing the popular support by 500 000 votes. That is true but according to every source I can find the US President isn't elected by popular vote the President is elected by the electoral college. I've read quite a bit about the electoral college and Bush won the electoral college.
Now from everything I have read about that election most of the voting irregularity as they were called were a result of some messed up voting laws. Everything I have have read suggests that for a national election each and every state has a different set of laws. These laws govern everything from the type of ballot used, to who can vote, to precedures for counting and recounting. I would say that in order to find the true problem with the election people should take a look a revamping the election laws. Would it not be wiser to have national laws that governs a national election? A national law that makes the rules for voting in a national election consistant throughout the entire country. All of the confustion and dirty tricks used (by both sides) could have been avoided if the laws were consistant.
As for American involvement in WWII there can been know doubt that it was prominant. What I have been saying is that there were many nations involved in the fighting and who contiributed to victory.

| Is Bush mentally ill? Posted: 1/1/2005 10:40:21 AM | Give me a break. Perhaps there are a few Finlanders who visit here but surely the numbers are insignificant. What does Finland contribute to the world? Sorry, I can't think of anything. When was the last time Finland was in the news for ANYTHING? They are a small, third world country, that remains pretty much neutral, as it should be.
What do they know about politics here other than what they might read on the internet? And we all know what a great job the internet does of presenting the news, etc. So their comments, although welcomed, are meaningless.
As for Bush being mentall ill: Just about anyone can be said to have a mental illness depending upon how one looks at that individual. Some people don't like attending parties. Some might say that' s anti-social behavior. Some don't like going to the malls. Some say that what they believe in is the only truth. Mental Illness can be subjective. True there are some types of mentall illness that are very obvious but diagnoses of mentall illness are, again, subjective to what that particular person, doctor thinks. There is no truely accurate way to disagnose most forms of mentall illness. It's not like you can look at a person (usually) and say they are mentally ill as you could with some other medical problems such as a compound fracture? Bush strongly believes in what he is doing. I don't particularly agree with him, but at least he has the intestinal fortitude to stand by his convictions. Where we wrong for going into Iraq? Again, that's a subjective decision. Some say yes, some say no. Based upon the information he was given at the time, yes we were right and justified in going in however, now that we know the information was misleading and false, then no, we should not of gone in. If we were to take a vote, I'd of course vote to withdraw from that country and allow them to work it out themselves, but that's not going to happen any time soon for a variety of reasons. Yes, Bush's pride is one of them. Suppose that the intelligence was correct and that he did have WMD's and he had released one of those on Isreal or whereever and we hadn't done anything about it even though we knew he had them. What would the world of said then? He was in a no win situation. Damned if he did and d*mned if he didn't. So perhaps action based upon caution was the proper thing to do. Again, I'd vote to withdraw from Iraq and d*mn what the rest of the world thinks. It's not their people being killed on a daily basis there.
