You have several times. Anyways..I dont care about what was said, or being said, etc. I think it was in extreme poor taste to take her profile picture and make it your main picture simply for the sake of mocking. | |

Posted: 12/13/2005 7:41:00 PM | Me likey. This is very similar to what Neil Gailman came up with when he wrote "The Sandman" graphic novels.
To those who don't know, the universe he wrote works like this:
Life is the creater of everything. When life exits, there is a demand for death. Death needs to exist to separate that which has come from that which will be. So death was created. As life became more complex death became more complex. Soon death became an anthramorphic personifacation. (ie she exists in some physical/metaphysical sense) Now with the complexity of life came other personifacations: Destiny, Dream, Desire, Dispare, Delight/Delirium, Destruction. These beings were called the Endless and they were responsible for keeping their respected "areas" in harmony. Each one had a different personality and as such a different point of view. Like you couldn't KILL the idea of dream, but you can kill a point of view of dream. It's all somewhat complicated...
Anyway in it there is a heaven, a hell, and pretty much any god/religion you can think of. Ra, as well as all the other sun gods, lived in the sun, thor and his norse buddies existed, ect... all because sentient beings made them: they honestly believed such beings existed and so such beings were created. As a result all religions are correct. (atleast as far as what god exists) It is also decent to note that it is not Death or God that judges you, but you yourself. See if you truely, deep down, believe that you've lived your life according to your religion and deserve to go wherever you believe you should go then you'll go there. This solve the issue where changes in society may cause old religious laws to become outdated.
Now to me this is the most appealing view because it incorporates every view while at the same time making them all separate and dynamic based on how a species evolves socially.

Some people just need to mellow. this is a bogus thread started by Honorable one..nothing to do with the topic of religion..
I disagree, CG. Lots of good insight into religion come from humour, and this thread is no different.

Again, I disagree. It may not directly address many things associated with religion, but there have been quite a few salient points agreed upon by members of disparate religious outlooks who might otherwise have insisted upon disagreement. It's original enough in its own way, and it certainly has broadened my outlook on religion. | |

Essentially if everyone practiced this particular ideal (ie just believe what you want) and as long as you don't hurt anyone or claim superiority, we can ignore the religious problem all together and concentrate on more improtiant things like solving political corruption. | |
