Is it possible I'm the only one who remembers PEZ dispensers? A toy AND candy all in one! I also loved my Strawberry Shortcake dolls with strawberry scented hair!

^^^Remembers them? They still make them! I gave them out at halloween a year or two ago.

Just remembered Pop Rocks. A toy and candy rolled into one. They exploded in your mouth.

And Yo-Yo's were so big back in my day.

SHRINKY-DINKS!!

Anyone remember shrinky-dinks? You'd color them with colored pencils, cut them out of these plastic sheets and them bake them in the oven, where they'd shrink into these little hard plastic figurines. I remember one year my brother and I got a He-Man Shrinky-Dinks set for Christmas. We played with that for hours.

Used to raise brine shrimp to feed the tropical fish I had....they loved them. Besides...I want ot see if sea monkeys actually do like spam....saw it on a show called "Bones" the other night...hehehe...

Magic Rocks huh? Have to go looking for that then.

I have some PEZ dispensers tucked away....not old ones though. (with no feet on them.) Would be willing to sell my collection...for the right price. Some do have the candy with them...haven't opened the package!
I seem to remember some kind of melt and mold thing...mostly D+D characters. Always wanted to build a chess set based on that....probably still could. I wonder if painting them and putting a varnish on them to protect the paint from wera would be ok though...should be, considering they are meant to be handled...

What should be the various pieces? A "black knight" could be a knight on a skeletal horse, or a dragon even. Pawns? Orcs maybe? the queen? Duh....so many to choose from! Arrrrggggg...my head.....the artistic ideas just keep coming huh? lol!

Anyways...we used to make up board games of all kinds. Use pieces from old games that had lost parts through the years and make new games. Had one based loosely on monopoly...but the "real estate" was substituted for "Vargas Girls" cards, and various nefarious deals were offered through other cards and gameboard spaces. It included police prowl cars that circled the various blocks and "busted" you if you landed on them or they landed on you...loss of all your stash and money and "property" wouldn't allow you to gain the half million in cash you needed to head for the airport and win the game. Never did see about trying to get that game marketed, but quite a few people tried it and enjoyed it a lot!

I collected marbles for a while. It was fun until I stepped on one by accident! Other things that I've heard are painful to step on: GI Joe heads, and Barbie shoes

Jesci, yes, I remember PEZ dispensers. I used to love them as a kid!! I collected many over the years. My 2 yr old twin grandaughters are now fans, they too have their own collection!

Does anyone remember Stretch and Fetch Armstrong? My son loved them, and I got a great kick out of stretching them until all that goop oozed out!!

The original Trac-Ball was fun but takes too much talent for the average kid nowadays. Lawn Darts was also fun, never realized the potential danger back then.

I remember Stretch Armstrong, didn't care for him too much myself. Some neighbor kids had one and we would spend about 2 minutes playing with him before moving on to other things that were much more entertaining, like Barbies!

Besides the fact that he was so ugly (as most boy dolls were ) he was incredibly hard to stretch, but I bet it would have been some fun to destroy him and squeeze all the life (GOOP) out of that sucker, lol

We think alike strawberry, we do have a wicked streak, wanting to de-goop him!! Poor old stretch, yes he was a little ugly, with big teeth, but you could use him as a means of getting your frustrations out by stretching the heck out of him, a man shaped stress ball!!

I loved Twister! And my Slinky. And Operation. Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, Battleship.
I would still love to play Twister, but now greased up with body oil, and heaven knows I am not as agile as I was when I was fourteen. Twister could send me to the ER these days!

Didn't they used to have these growing rocks? You put these pellets in a bowl of water with some solution, and they grew into a colorful visual display of sort of upside down, colorful, icicle looking aquariam. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Hmm...saw a couple old video games for sale today...and have an old Coleco here.
I should hook it up sometime just for laughs.
the kid is collecting almost every video game platform that was ever made. I guess it's his hobby. He got a switch to put them all on the same monitor, so he can switch from one platform to another without worrying about plugging in one to play the other. Works good!

Lite Brite! The Fisher Price people and houses...my neighborhood had the main house, a Weeble treehouse, a McDonald's (how cool is that?), and a Mickey Mouse club house. If they were bored they could hang out at Barbie's condo (3 floors with an elevator) or the Donnie and Marie Disco!!! Complete with strobe effects that you had to do manually.

There was a short lived craze in the 70's for a toy called Clackers. The toy comprised two wooden balls, maybe 5cm in diameter, joined by a length of string which was maybe 30cm long. The object of the game was to grip the string in the middle and move it rapidly up and down, causing each ball to describe a 180 degree arc before striking against its counterpart and repeating the move in the opposite direction. The resultant sound presumably gave the device its name. A high degree of skill was essential to produce anything like a faultless succession of "clacks."I can testify to the frequent knuckle raps suffered by the inexpert player. Ouch!

I believe the toy was soon withdrawn from sale due to an inevitable spate of hand injuries.

The LJN wrestling figures were #1 and the best. I'll never forget getting the Hart Foundation, I was so pumped. The Galoob WCW ones were pretty good too, especially Barry Windham.
