Posted: 9/19/2006 2:33:54 PM | | I wasn't very fond of Nancy Grace at first. But after watching her and really listening to her,...well, I'm kind of addicted. I looooove her. She is a strong smart woman and I agree to Goddess Themis, thats probably why people are so put off by her and thats a shame. I don't always agree with her but I love that she has the guts to say what is on her mind. I really like how she has refused to apologize for what happend last week on her show. A woman (Linda Ducket) was on her show because her 2 year old son was missing and the mother claimed that someone must have taken him from his bedroom window where there was a 10 inch cut in the screen. TEN INCHES? The mother was not answering Miss Grace on anything especially her time line before the baby went missing. Miss Grace then kept asking and asking for specifics. Shows like hers as helped find missing people and she must know what questions to ask but this woman just wouldn't answer. Well, the mother commited suicide and people are bloggin all over the place blaming Nancy Grace. This woman was mentally ill and threatened suicide before....no one can drive another to kill themselves. Nancy Grace has continued to help with the search for the son and will not apologize for the mothers death. Good for her. Turns out the mother drove around for eight hours with the baby and a shot gun the day he went missing and put the baby's car seat up for sale......... | |

"Elizabeth Smart kidnapping
During the Smart case, when suspect Richard Ricci was arrested by police on the basis that he had a criminal record and had worked on the Smarts' home, Grace immediately and repeatedly proclaimed on CourtTV and CNN's Larry King that Ricci "was guilty", although there was little evidence to support this claim. She also suggested publically that Ricci's girlfriend was involved in the coverup of his alleged crime. Grace continued to malign Ricci, though he has since died.
It was later revealed that Smart was kidnapped by Brian David Mitchell and Wanda Barzee, two individuals with whom Richard Ricci had no connection."

"has also vigorously defended Jennifer Wilbanks, the Atlanta-area woman who staged her own disappearance. Despite evidence showing planning and intent to deceive, Grace was opposed to the idea that Wilbanks, who later pled guilty to making false statements, should be charged with anything"

State, in which it was said that she "exceeded the wide latitude of closing argument" by referring to the defendant's prior convictions for violent felonies which were not at issue in the case."

Although its decision overturning the murder-arson conviction of businessman Wayne Weldon Carr in the death of his wife turned primarily on other issues, the court made note of Grace's court actions, saying "inappropriate and illegal conduct in the course of the trial."
She has been known to "convict" people on the air days after an arrest. She is the perfect example of what everybody ****ed about w/ the Jonbenet/ Mark Kerr thing recently. She and every other outlet plus many of you had the guys convicted and hung 20 minutes after the story broke. She is the poster child for what is wrong with the American news media. It's not about the news anymore. It's about hype, sensationalism, and selling ads. She makes me physically ill. | |

I especially like all she is trying to accomplish in bringing those who commit against children and women to justice | |

"Grace became a part of the story she was covering when on September 7, 2006 Melinda Duckett, a 21-year-old Florida woman, whose 2-year-old son Trenton had disappeared, committed suicide shortly before an interview with Grace was broadcast on CNN Headline News.[1]
Duckett had reported her son missing to police on August 27 having finished watching a film, telling them that she returned to her son's room to find his bed empty and a 10in slit in a window screen in his room[citation needed].
Grace had interviewed Duckett the day before her suicide, during which she banged her desk and attacked Duckett for her perceived lack of openness regarding her son's disappearance, asking Duckett "Where were you? Why aren't you telling us where you were that day?"[3] Duckett appeared to become confused, and was unsure if she had taken a polygraph test. When Grace asked her "why" she had not given out specific details, Duckett began to reply "Because I was told not...", to which Grace responded "Ms Duckett, you are not telling us for a reason. What is the reason? You refuse to give even the simplest facts of where you were with your son before he went missing. It is day twelve..." Grace then allowed Duckett a reply before cutting to a media psychologist.[3][1]
Police investigating the case have not named Melinda Duckett as a suspect in the case.
The next day, Duckett shot herself to death"

Check out how she keeps tellin' it like it is ...and by the way, yes she didn't leave the story alone after that. When I heard about this I checked her out the day after...and there she was talking about the same case. A real class act...

than the average WWF fan. I remember how she disgraced herself
and essentially convicted RICHARD RICCI for kidnapping Elizabeth
Smart. I imagined when the real kidnapper was found Nancy must
have been mortified....if you guys saw how she ripped Ricci apart....WOW!
He died humiliated and ashamed.
But I understand why she's so eratic....her husband was murdered
and she's never been the same. I feel more sorry for her than angry
but she really should go seek help (unless this is just a show for the barbarians).
But, she's been found to be wrong so many times.....I love watching
her just to see how low and dumb this blonde can get....call me a barbarian. | |
