| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 1/1/2005 9:08:05 PM | Well I'm new to this place, and was looking around and came across this post. Figured I'd add my dreary story. Yesterday, rolling up to midnight was not all that great for me. This is my first New Years alone in 7 years, and to top it off, the 1st of January is or would have been my 7th wedding anniversary. So all in all last 2 days have been crap for me.
On a brighter note, and I know they are out there, I hope everyone else has had a wonderful New Years.

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 4:55:38 PM | | No you are NOT the only one spending NEW YEARS alone. I was with Loring for over 6 months he was only the second man I have ever loved in my life. Loring made me alot of promises we planned to spent the rest of our lives together. He suddenly begain making excuses why he couldn't see me about 4 months ago. He communicated with me in emails but never broke things off. He said he was busy with his web site work and needed to get his life together. I gave him the time. Then suddenly the emails stopped. I contacted him and he said he had got married and to have a good life. I know six months is not a long time but in a loveless life it is eternity. I have been told to go on and date. I have done that but all the men I am meeting are only looking for sex. I am on 4 diffrent dating sites.I am tired of being used. Loring was on the rebound from someone else when I met him and i did not know that. I am very hurt. I am looking for someone to be my friend first and my lover second. If you could give me some advice I would be grateful. | |

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 5:24:05 PM | I am spending it at home with my kids ...I have been a single mom going on four years and I have always spent the holidays at home with the kids. I find, for me that there are not a lot of men that want to hook up with a 41 year old with three kids, so....I spend time with the kids and with myself. It does kind of suck sometimes to be alone on nights like this...however, I would rather be alone than with someone who was not sincere or with someone who was just into head games or sex | |

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 5:35:58 PM | Nope, I'm alone too, but it's okay. No one around i'd like to spend it with. Maybe some year ;) Besides, way too much excitement last night, my kids and their friends were over to visit, was up until 3:00 a.m., got in trouble cuz didn't call someone, and someone from here wants to meet me.
and so it goes.
but for now, still alone. Hopefully next New Year's Eve will find me with someone very, very special, cuz i don't want to do this for the next 30 years!

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 5:37:14 PM | | I just watched this great news segment on BBC about a little town in Spain where there were a bunch of isolated shy bachelors who never left their village and there was a shortage of gals to make matters worse. Sounds pretty bad to me. Someone bused in 3 or so buses full of eligible single gals of all ages because the announcer said, "They didn't have internet dating". "Kind of a mass blind date" the announcer continued. Whatever works I say! We all need love and companionship. You should have seen those bachelors faces. They had never seen anything like it coming to town! | |

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 5:38:56 PM | God puts ya in a place fer a reason I figure. I am alone (as in past several yrs by choice) and am okay with it, 'tho a "significant other" would be nice. Shouldn't every holiday (Christmas, New Years, etc..) be a daily celebration of life anyways? | |

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 5:40:05 PM | Alone here too. Third year for me. It gets to you knowing there are so many "couples" having a great night together. We all have a new year coming in and hopefully none of us will be posting to this question this time next year. Happy New Year everyone and good luck | |

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 5:50:43 PM | I am spending New Years eve on my own.. buuut I am also recovering from bronchial pneumonia. My kids and I are going to watch LOTR, and I am fixing them their last big meal of the year.. haha my son thought something bad was going to happen. He has no bedtime so his face is rather cheerful now. We will be getting obliterated on cranberry juice and rootbeer floats. my son suggests we call 911 and wish them a happy new year! riiight.

| am i the only spending new years eve alone Posted: 12/31/2006 5:53:09 PM | I have only gone out a couple of times on new years eve...and I didn't really had a good time. I'm quite happy hanging out at home. Sometimes I'll even have a glass of wine, and watch the ol' ball drop on TV. With or without the wine, it's still just another night.
Contemplate the last year, and think about what you want out of the new one. Hopes, dreams and goals.
