Height means nothing if you are ugly. And there are no shortage of ugly people in the world. In fact, being really tall only broadcasts the ugly further ( at least short ugly people can kind of hide behind taller people)
I think height matters when you are younger. I think it's because there is so much peer pressure and kids are in school and not out in the real world. As people get older, I really don't think it matters much at all. If you are short or tall and good looking, you will get laid. If you are ugly, short or tall, you might have to rent alot of movies on Friday night.
Height matters, but good looks matter first.
I guess I'm average height for a guy, but I wouldn't care if a girl was 6 foot 6 or if I got into a strange wheat thresher accident and ended up six inches shorter tommorrow. | |

I know that I would rather kiss up to someone than kiss down. The feel of long, strong, protective arms around me..... 
I'd definitly go out with a taller man. All you taller men looking for a taller woman, try talking to me through email and chat and we'll see if your up to my standards too.
Or you have age/ distance restrictions on your mail settings. 
You know we have the longer legs, distance shouldn't be so much of a problem then!

Posted: 8/23/2006 6:26:59 PM | Personally for me (being 6'0")... I don't think I could ever comfortably date a man shorter than myself.. I did for 3.5 years but I always found that his height bothered me (I think he was 5'9.5"- 5'10") But I had fallen in love with him so it didn't matter... I think exceptions would be made in my case only if the man was extremely attractive and had an amazing personality and qualities. I walk around everyday feeling more dominant and bigger than everyone I meet, I have for my entire life... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being tall, I wouldn't change it for anything, but it would be a nice change to have someone who is taller than myself to be with... I think it even goes for me with girls; if I wanted to date a girl, I couldn't date one that was significantly shorter than me... I think 5'10" would be the limit... otherwise it starts feeling weird...
SweetPeaJulia, I have not had trouble with tall guys avoiding me, I get all heights and sizes coming up to me, but I could agree that maybe some guys don't want to be with a taller woman because they feel their masculinity is challenged?

Posted: 8/23/2006 6:58:56 PM | I have a particular interest in this and have made a bit of a study of height differences in dating and have come to the conclusion that seriously tall women, tend to be high acheivers in general, tend to be better educated on average and usually have interesting careers. I also have concluded, that they arent necessarily for me even though in shoes I am six six, and can and have touched the top of six eight doorways with my hair on a good tall hair day. Smile.
I have concluded that tall women, five ten and up, at least in my age group, have basically assumed what I perceived was a most assertive and seemingly masculine personality. Ive found this rather off putting personally. It also appears that most of these rather tall women have made their own way in life, and arent at all dependent types . So basically what I am saying is, taller women seem to have become substantially more unhooked from the social order in general than average sized women. I guess that other than height I am kind of an average guy, and am more used to an average type woman. Maybe thats why the really tall ones havnt worked out for me. | |

Posted: 8/25/2006 9:34:02 AM | I dated a guy that was 6'8" for about a year and I liked it. I'm right about 5'8". It was tough doing some of the normal things though. He couldn't get bowling shoes big enough, there were some cars he just plain couldn't ride in because his legs were to long.
* I think the taller the guy the more testosterone that is pumping through his body, because he couldn't get enough!
I also like the feeling of being protected and comforted with a taller, stronger guys arm around me. I'm not one for a slender guy either. Just my preference. | |

I mean, after all, is it the short guy's fault God made you a Giant, and should be pass you up just because you ARE?.....
Says alot about a man's character if you ask me, I've dated girls 5 ft 2, and find that my favorite, but I'd never pass up a sexy Giant myself... and haven't so far.. ;)
