Ever since my teenage years, I was always hit on, approached, or however one comes in contact By shorter men. Iit was the long legs that first attracted the male counterpart. At the age of 16, I was told by my brother in-law to beware of men just dreaming about having my long legs wrapped around what ever body part they so desired. Now maybe someone with a low self esteem might have taken issue with my height, but I need a man who knows how to handle and not be intimidated by a woman. The funniest left handed compliment given happened when 2 young men walked by me and I over heard one say to the other 'Now she's worth the climb'. Years later, I still chuckle. So, next time you enter a room, throw those shoulders back, stand up straight and make your enterance, girl. | |

I get a combination of both, tall and short men. I do not necessarily have a preference. Just as long as the guy is comfortable being around me, and secure about his own height. Height is not something that can be controlled.
Taller men are harder for me to come by as most would like a shorter woman, and then for shorter men some get a little scared or nervous around me because of the height difference so I just can't win! LOL. | |

I stand 5'-11"..... My ex-wife stood 6'-0".... We didn't have a problem with height.
We had problems with other things...but height wasn't one of them!!

Posted: 5/25/2007 7:12:49 AM | Hopefully this hasn't already been said but at 28 pages I skipped a lot of this forum. From a strictly anthropological point of view tallness is an attractive characteristic in the search for a mate. It also puts the tall individual into an immediate position of dominance. (Try being the only one standing in a room full of people sometime, you sense it almost immediately). This may be why tall men seem to be not interested in tall women. A tall woman challenges a tall man's dominance.
I'm 5'8". I'm currently seeing a woman who is 6'. The only problem she has is when we go dancing. She likes to wear heels. (Helps show off those long legs). So if she does wear heels she is now almost a foot taller and my face is in her chest. Otherwise the height variance doesn't bother her. We having too much fun.

Posted: 5/25/2007 8:09:20 AM | I am 5'10'-5'11, I was the tallest girl in class since the fourth grade. Now, I think I am about average. But some men still go "wow your tall", and they are 5'7-5'8. When we meet I swear there doesn't seem to be a huge height difference. I think sometimes it all in your mind. I could say that there was one time I felt awkward with someone shorter than me, he was 5'1, and well when we were slow dancing I felt a bit violated..lol, but hey he wasn't complaining...lol.
Besides, when I do confront men if my height bothers them, they usually say no, we are all one height in bed...lol. Typical man...just joking...hmm..maybe not.. | |

I completely agree to that. Being 5 feet 1/2 myself, I get turn down by lots of either taller or even same height as me girls. As if everything stopped there.

Posted: 6/3/2007 8:45:43 AM | First of all forget about this tall nonsense; I prefer to think of us as "normal-sized" and the rest as short. I have met many wonderful and interesting short people, but for a potential partner someone similiar in height is a definite plus. It's difficult to even talk to someone shorter when you constantly have to slump down to hear them.
I think of "tall" women as being long-stemed roses that are a joy to appreciate. And their legs..........!

Posted: 6/3/2007 9:02:36 AM | I'm 6'2. I'll be perfectly honest when I say that I prefer women to be shorter than me. And by shorter I mean 4'11 to 5'4. That's the gold spot for me. Doesn't mean I won't date someone that's taller, but Most women who are up there are either too filled out or too thin. I met a girl once who was high side of 6'4 and she was built like a man. Not buff, not fat, just "thick" and filled out. She was like 200 lbs but I swear that was my first dealing with an amazon-like female and it was a total turn off.
There's a girl at my work who has to be 6'5 at the least, I mean she towers over me and I'm considered one of the taller ones. Her only issue is that she's too thin - for her weight she should definitely be about 5'4, but because she's so tall it makes her look anorexic. Obviously, not a turn on.
If she's weight and height proportioned I would date someone who was no more than my height. At my height though, there'd definitely have to be a 135lb weight limit. | |

My relationships which were based more on the physical attributes have never been as meaningful as the ones based on the mental ones. But I can understand that it is the physical attributes such as height that we as people first react to. We all have our likes and dislikes and it is most important that the choices we make in life are ones that we are comfortable with. | |

I will have somebody track me down from the other end of the bar, simply because they love it... Maybe it how you hold your height... Be proud of it...wear those heels..stand tall and let the world see you! And if a short guy hits on you...good on him...take a secure man to approach a taller women...

the answer is yes of course. men generally aren't height snobs like women. although there will be some guys who don't like tall women, generally height is no factor to a guy in regards to a lady's attractiveness factor. | |

My problem is finding someone in my age range and interests.
The opposite is quite true also in that short women are not comfortable with tall men. I guess they figure we are too big for them.
