My BF is 6'4 and I am 5'4 and he has told me that he does not like to date tall women because he likes petite women. From some of the post it does appear that there are guys out there that do not have a problem dating tall women and I am sure that you will find the man of your dreams. | |

Posted: 8/28/2007 6:41:37 PM | A friend buzzed me and said I HAD to put my tall girl story on this thread- Some time back I needed a tennis partner for a big charity tournament. Lots of individuals involved with the event which provided excellent networking for my foundation, so I wanted a serious partner to get through several rounds and meet as many people as possible. I advertised for a partner in the local hip arts and entertainment paper- received many responses, most of which barely knew what a tennis raquet was, but beyond that, assumed since I had an ad in the singles paper, I was looking for dating and/or sex. In fact, I was looking for just what I said- a tennis partner! About to give it up, a lady rang, said she saw my ad, and also needed a partner; what level player was I? This had never been asked before, I knew we were on the right track! I provided my credentials, to which she just said, "Good. I can tell you about me real quick: I was the junior singles champion in the Bay Area, I am 170 pounds, I am 6 ft 1 1/2" tall, I serve left handed, and I'm a lesbian." After about a 1 nanosecond pause, I said "You're Hired Lady!"  | |

Tall men are taller than most men, and like the feeling of power they get when being around shorter men. So, they like the feeling of power they get when being around shorter women, often the shorter the better, and get insecure when they are with a taller woman.
Short men are shorter than most men, and are used to being around taller men. They get their power from elsewhere. So it doesn't bother them to be with a taller woman, and appreciate her for her assets, like her long legs.
Most women are shorter than most men, and feel intimidated by most men, and so like the feeling of security they have with a taller man, and feel insecure and unprotected when they are with a shorter man.
Tall women who are taller than most men, and confident that they can compete with other men on their level, don't feel intimidated by most men, and so are willing to date shorter men.
Tall men want shorter women.
Short men don't care at all.
Most women want only taller men.
Tall women, who are confident, such as those who have fought men in sports such as kickboxing, will date shorter men.
I'm 5'5", and I've had short women take an interest in me, and women about my height take an interest. But only really tall women who had no compunctions in standing up to a man who was physically assaulting either them of any of their friends, showed an interest in me.

Too bad she was dull as a post, and was turned off that I wasnt as tall as HER.
Hope she had good luck finding someone 6ft3 or taller!

I am 5'11 and 1/2 and the only ones i seem to be able to find are 5'6 and under.
(maybe a couple that are 5'8" if I'm lucky)

I however am more compatible with a lady shorter than me. I would feel quite odd walking down the street with a lady taller than me as a gf. I like the shorties and they are often overlooked and underrated. Good things come in small packages.

It really doesn't matter provided we look for the heart !!
I'm 5'6" and have enjoyed women 6'2" .......was never intimidate by the height difference.
Nothing nicer than a true meeting of hearts & minds
Anything else is irrelevant.

but ..thing is he asks me if I like high heels and i say yes..and when I wear them .. he says...wow are you ever tall in those...and then I end u ptaking them off
I think he wants someone closer to his size...i think height has been an issue in our relationship...sad..becuase we are so compatible in bed and out...

Are you sure he doesn't like it that you are taller than him.? This is a fantasy for lots of guys...so are you sure that he doesn't like it when he says "wow are you ever tall in those"? He might mean it as a compliment.
