Ew canadian music, not much I like. Sooooooooo sick of the hip its not even funny, but if I HAD to pick.

Nickleback is pretty good, probably the best of the harder rock bands on the radio.

SnS - YEAH YEAH YEAH! Alexisonfire RIP! And this is from someone who predominantly listens to house/electronica.

I know I'm supposed to be too old, but FAWK - them kids make me run out and buy a skateboard and just pump on down the road with my headphones on!

I managed to rip 'Crisis' off the net about 2 months before it was released...

"The cracks in the pavement, match the cracks in their weathered skin..."

I didn't really start to appreciate their talent until I caught the video for 'Accidents' - I heard the chanting in the song and it reminded me a bit of 'Bro Hymn' - Pennywise. And for those few minutes before the video ended I felt cool again.

Claim to fame for me... I used to skateboard with Mike Turner (OLP) and my highschool friend Sonia (aka Bone) did the album cover for 'Clumsy'

ok, not my favourite but one of them, and I didn't see them mentioned, .....

The Pursuit of Happiness ..... even if only for "I'm an adult now"

.... .Rocker48, I saw the Mainline back in 72 at the London Arena here, great show ....

and for who ever mentioned King Biscuit Boy, I salute you ....

my personal favourite canadian band eh! would be Max Webster ..... just oddball and out of the loop enough, but still kicked @#$ to appeal to my unpopulist sensibilities when I was near post puberty ...

I can't believe people put Nickleback. I thought the only reason radio stations played them was to raise Canadian content!

I'll go with:

Delerium (someone said Front Line Assembly - so i'll pick his other project)
Metric
Sloan
Spirit of the West
and for those who listed Teenage Head, let's go with more punk - NoMeansNo and the Hanson Brothers.

Lukas Rossi......ummmm have to disagree on that one. If you want a hot Canadian man that one would want to RAVAGE all night long.....J.D. Fortune....had the pleasure of seeing him preform in Kitchener with INXS...now that man makes love to his microphone....yummmie. So Hot.

As for Canadian bands.....Nickleback and Theroy of a Dead Man....definately.

Joydrop(They are/were Canadian?) Wow, there is one I completely forgot about... but I don't really remember anything other than there big hit.

Another Canadian gal who is seriously underrated is Esthero... she had a great album some time ago.

I can't take format rock tho... TheoryofaDefaultNickleback drive me nuts... cookie cutters with long hair.

Forgotten Rebels
Eye Mother Earth

Treble Charger
Killjoys
Junkhouse
Rainbow Buttmonkeys (I don't care what they call themselves now, I know them, the story behind the band and the name and they will ALWAYS be Rainbow Buttmonkeys to me)
Grace

Plan 9

Strawman

ok the first two are a couple of kickass bands from Hamilton......The next five are kickass bands from Hamilton that have/had friends and/or acquaintances of mine in them and/or I worked for/with.

The second last band was the last band I interviewed for the video production company I worked for. They are out of Toronto and had a kick ass sound.

The last band was a one hit wonder from Toronto too I believe... I loved the song... Yeah Yeah Yeah Whatever...... still do.

Oh and before I forget, The Trews get an honorable mention simply for being from the greatest most awesomest place in Canada, Antigonish Nova Scotia. I don't know what a Gonish is, or why they are so against them, but they years I lived there were the happiest of my life. The people are awesome and it truly is God's country... breathtaking. Oh and they rock quite handily too!

OMG Prof Chaos... been AGES since anyone mentioned the BFG around me....... Mike still runs a pub in the market with a nice jukebox full of excellent albums last I was there.

No one has mentioned the much more talented better half of Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace), Chantal Kreviazuk. Sarah Harmer was mentioned a handful of times but the band that gave her the jump to a solo artist, Weeping Tile, was not. They frequently opened for another, now extinct, Canadian band, the gandharvas. Neverending White Lights is another great up and coming Canadian act that hasn't been mentioned either. Others I enjoy are Billy Talent, The Tragically Hip, Sam Roberts and Matthew Good. I'm in agreeance with the people that can't stand Nickelback. They're all about good hooks and really cheesy lyrics. Good for them though. They're sitting much prettier that I am. A friend of mine once said, "If I paid five cents to see them, I'd want my nickel back". I couldn't agree more.
