| Fave Canadian Bands? Posted: 12/1/2006 4:07:54 PM | missed seeing him play in hamilton a few years back but i'm a big fan of big rude jake love that stuff, love the satire, the beat, the uniqueness...totally suits me. mind you, i've yet to meet anyone else who knows who the heck this is LOL
another lesser known option that i used to like and did manage to see when they were in st. catharine's was Age of Electric, but that is really dating me now (wow, has it really been over a decade!!!)
I also watched a TON of local bands while in newfoundland, The Fables were probably my fave while living there, but I don't listen to it much now that I'm back in Ontario.
oh, and how can i forget my good friend Layah Jane--totally amazing woman with incredibly haunting melodies and lyrics--and she's a Toronto Independent Music Award Winner as well as providing the vocals for the Dove Campaign version of "True Colours". Okay, i'm taking liberties pushing my friend here but, honest, she's AMAZING! truly wonderful music and a very conscientious musician.
edit: oops, forgot to mention sam roberts.
whew, this ended up longer than expected LOL

Oh yeah ... and Leahy from the Peterborough area. Have to see them to believe them.

| Fave Canadian Bands? Posted: 12/1/2006 5:57:15 PM | Hedley and Simple Plan.. they are very young and immature but if you ask my 15 yr old they know music.
I have been to their concerts X2 and actually knew the songs and what they were singing.
The trews are also pretty good coming from an old lady.

| Fave Canadian Bands? Posted: 12/3/2006 9:55:59 PM | Oh Miss Vixen I think you may have something there. Santa couldn't possibly refuse such a letter, but giving them back on Boxing Day....hummmmmm I thought Boxing Day was for returning items you didn't want or that didn't fit; and some how I think they will fit just right!
Santa these two "little" girls have been extra good this year; Mr. Claus could see that the return policy on JD and Lucas - well gets misplaced?

For me I'd say:
D.L. Incognito Classified (and a crazy load of un-heard off names from the Maritimes) Blok B. (Montreal) KOS Muzion
and...ah man! did you say only five?

| Fave Canadian Bands? Posted: 12/11/2006 7:51:51 PM | Well most of you have probably never heard of them unless maybe your from the London/St. Thomas area although they have played in Hamilton, Toronto once in awhile, and Simcoe quite alot. Hog Wild. there website is hogwildforever.ca. There really good plus they do a fare bit of Charity and Benifit concerts. The lead singer is a friend of mine and an extremly nice guy. | |

| Fave Canadian Bands? Posted: 1/9/2007 6:14:45 PM | | Ok, I'm pretty late in posting on this subject. Hmm...I have to admit that I don't like many Canadian bands. I don't care for most of the ones you tend to hear on top 40 radio. I find them to be fauder bands. I would have to say Skinny Puppy, Numb, Delerium, The Birthday Massacre I like to listen to and maybe a couple of others I can't reallly remember right now. | |
